Well, I saw this movie on Monday and I came back amazed. I'm not usually for movies like these (excpet for X Men) but this was really awesome.

Well, it wasn't persay a bad movie. But it wasn't the best I've ever seen. To predictable for my taste. It seemed a bit rushed, to me. But other than that, it was good. ^_^

Personally, I liked the movie. A few flaws, but I suppose it was okay. I liked the fight scenes and especially the Rider's fight and riding scenes. The penance stare effects were very cool. I'll give it a four though cause I believe it could've done a little bit more with the character. Also I can't find the friggin ending Ghost Rider song from the credits anywhere! Damn.

Edit: Trickster, who was alerted by Ai, found the song for me. Thanks Tricky and Ai.

I gave it 5 stars! I liked it alot. The special effects were pretty good. And the fight scenes were awesome. The only thing that irked me was the love scenes. It was too mushy. But still 5/5!!!

I knew someone would make a thread about this before long.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to soon. I'll give my own opinion when I do.

I'm excited to see it though. It's actually gotten a lot of bad reviews by critics. Though I'm convinced you have to be jaded and hate just about everything to be a movie critic, so meh.

Another telling thing is the fact that public opinion seems quite skewed directly in the other direction. A lot of people say that the movie's pretty good and those that don't usually say that it was at least decent.

I'm not surprised to hear Nicholas Cage did a good job in acting. I think he's great and while some people thought it was a hair brained move to cast him as the rider, I was relieved it wasn't going to be a hack or some unproven actor.

I'm hoping to see it tomorrow evening. Between this movie and 300, I'm gonna have two movies in less then a month to see. XD

And I usually don't go to the theaters more then once a year. Thats how rare I get excited about a movie.

Just got back from seeing the movie. Gotta say, I was impressed.

First off, I'll get the things that bothered me out of the way. There was one major change to the movie from the comics. In the original comics, Blaze willingly gave his soul to the devil. He wasn't duped like in the movie. In the comics, this always added a sense of redemption to Ghost riders mission to stamp out evil he finds. So as a Ghost Rider comic fan, it was a little dissapointing.

For another thing, I wasn't impressed with the actress who played Roxanne. At all. The person who played Blackheart could have usaed a little more energy to it though, as he felt kinda wooden during some scenes and a little too cliche.

One change that didn't bother me, however, was the Penance Stare. Any fan of Ghost Rider knows that Johnny Blaze did not have this ability originally. This is an ability that Daniel Ketch had during his tenure as the second comic Ghost Rider. However, Johnny Blaze returned to comics as Ghost Rider about a year or two ago with the Penance Stare, so it can easily be excused anyways, and it didn't bother me, as I always thought it was a cool power.

Other then that, I was vastly impressed with the movie.

In particular, Nicholas Cage sold the entire thing for me. It felt like he really put himself into the movie and gave it his all, and it shows. Even the cheesy lines, and yes, there are a few, are pulled off brilliantly by him so that they actually sound kinda cool. Any other actor would sound ridiculous.

I found his performance in this movie a nice return to form for the actor, as before this movie he hasn't exactly been doing a hell of a lot. In fact, he had seemed to hit a nasty rut for awhile there, with his starring role in the remake of "Gone in 60 Seconds" (which blew, watch the original) being one of the worst. Then he seemed to disapear from the major radar for awhile, so it's nice to see him in a major movie and seeming back on his game.

Sam Elliot was excellant too as the caretaker and former Ghost Rider. But it's Sam Elliot. It's to be expected. The special effects were pretty damn good too.

Then there's the remix of "Ghost Riders in the Sky". Epic, epic win. I stayed through most of the credits just to hear the whole thing. Loved it.

I had two scenes in this movie that stood out as my favorite. The first one is on top of the skyscraper. When he uses his chain to pull the copter close to him. Then goes "You're pissing me off". That, coupled with the pilots repeated apologies, for some reason was pretty cool and hilarious for me.

The second is the beginning of the end of the movie. Seeing Caretaker blaze across the desert on his horse as a Ghost Rider one last time with Johnny Blaze on his motorcycle transformed. That and an instrumental part of "Ghost Riders in the Sky". It was just too cool in my opinion.

Overall I felt the story was rather strong with some good acting on one hand and some bad to mediocre on the other scale. It didn't ruin the movie, and I did enjoy myself. Very much so. I don't care what the critics say (they're mostly cynical @$$holes anyways), Ghost Rider was a winner to me.

The sequel has already been announced by Marvel head honcho Avi Arad. I'm hoping Nick signs on for this and a few more. There's a lot that can be done with the Ghost rider, and I can imagine things going up from here. After all, if there's one thing you can say about Marvel's comic book movies, they are at least worth a look.

It was pretty good, along with very predictable though. The special affects were awesome. Characters were okay, because in my eyes they could have done a little more with them. I really liked the blue flame if anyone remembers. Um.. Cage's eyes changed through the whole movie. In the most random of places to. Like one scene they were awesome light blue and then the next they were green. I don't know why that caught my eyes though. All in all at least four stars.

I kinda disagree a bit. It was predictable in some parts, but not that way through the whole shot. I didn't feel like I knew exactly what was going to happen next or what he was going to do like some movies. I hate it when I can predict the basic gist of what's gonna happen and be right every time. It pisses me off.

I agree on some of the characters though. Blackheart and Roxanne stood out for me. The actress that did Roxanne didn't do a terrible job, but it felt kinda lame at some points and I was quite unimpressed.

The biggest dissapointment for me on characters was Blackheart himself. He felt very one note throughout the entire thing. His voice never even really changed to show any emotions. It felt like a sleepwalking performance. Not to mention that for some reason, the actor failed to capture that "evil" feeling through most of it.

I feel this is mostly the actors fault, though the script could have worked a bit more evil feeling in it. The only time I was ever really like "woah" was when Blackheart killed Blaze's friend from his stunt team. Other then that, he was a big meh, which is problamatic when he's supposed to be the big villan.

Thankfully, it wasn't so terrible or corny that it ruined the movie. Sometimes, acting that bad can bring down an otherwise great movie. Blackheart was bad enough to affect some of the movie, but not terrible enough to ruin it, I felt.

I heard it kind of got mixed reviews...some didn't like it, some loved it. I personally don't know much about the original comic series but the movie looks interesting, I'd like to see it.

Ditto. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't AMAZING. B-

By the way, I found a link to download the song in the end credits.

The Spiderbait version of "Ghost Riders in the Sky".

Download "Ghost Riders in the Sky"

I personally went directly looking for it after getting home from the theaters and managed to find it. Thought I'd put it up in case someone else would want to hear it again. =)
