Well, I've seen the movie already. And personally I didn't like it. They left out pretty much the whole book. But I would like to know what you all think. |

It was really gay. Seriously, they left out all the action that was in the book - but no, they had to make it family friendly. But Murtagh was the secks. |

It was... okay. I wouldn't say it was stupid, but cheesy and cliche? Definitely. If I recall, aren't there actually more than one volume of Eragon? 'Cause I believe they're currently making the second movie. |

If they are making a second movie, and they destroy the second book like they did the first...I WILL GET A LAWYER AND SUE!!!!! This movie made me SOOOO mad. And I absolutely hate Murtagh..but they made him hot...how unfair is that? *grumbles* But yeah..just voicing my opinion. The movie sucked. Simple as that. *goes to post in Rant Thread about Eragon* |

I haven't seen it yet. But I've seen the preview, and it's awful. Brom is suppossed to be an old man and Eragon's ingisna is a scarish thing, not a burn. And the Urgals look human!! AO has seen it though. |

Well, what do you expect from a somehow self published fifteen year old? It shouldn't be great literature. Actually, I've heard it said Eragon is one hell of an example of a literary Gary Stu. From what I've heard of the book... yeah. But irregardless. Even if a book was a steaming pile of dog s***, there's no excuse to change everything around. Really, this is Hollywood's problem. They change too much around, which affects and lot and in general tends to alienate the core fan base of the property. Though, to be honest, book based movies have had it pretty decent as far as Hollywood is concerned lately. This is the first crap one I've heard in awhile. Maybe they should have just inserted Falkor the Luckdragon and called it a day. At least with that, I'd have watched it. XP |

I liked it. It wasn't very good though. Sorta dry. I can compare it to Narnia because of it's medival theme. And Narnia kicked it's ass. Narnia was alot more exciting to me. There was a very short battle scene in Eragon that needed to be longer and alittle bit more action packed like Narnia's. |

Never really saw Narnia. Actually, being brutally honest, I don't know much about it period. You know, I was half interested in seeing this Eragon movie just by the trailer, as it looked like an interesting concept. But then of course, I saw the overwhelming negative reaction. XD |

Yeah I watched it because of the previews. The previews made it look like it was going to be excellent. But it was just okay... I probably would have disliked it if I read the book. Usually after reading a book then the movie can be really disappointing. The book is always better, and I hate reading. lol |

The one thing that often makes a book better then the movie is that the book is often enough not adapted very well. That, and insight on thoughts. But really, sometimes you can get just as much from a story from the movie as a book, as often enough a person's thoughts are really aren't important in events. Both books and movies have their problems, but often enough the books are always hailed and the movies demonized. I've read books before, and a couple of them needed to be shortened and a bit more condensed. Badly. Books aren't always better, but they are always claimed to be as such. If there was a book to be adapted put into the right hands, depending on the book it could be better. But I don't feel like going into any more on this right now. XD Saddest, is that fans walk into the theater expecting to see the story brought to life, and because of different factors, are often immensly dissapointed. |

If comparing all of the fantasy movies released for the past 6 years, Eragon has got to be in the last place, next to Narnia. While LOTR Trilogy and Harry Potter series are on the tops. Seriously, it really is THAT bad. |

That's true. It's the same with Howl's Moving Castle. Saw the movie, read the book. Prefered the movie actually. Thought the book was too long and didnt' hint at romance. Was syked about the movie, till I saw the preview. Then I went to a bathroom and puked. |
