Season three did get progressively dark as it went on. Season 4 however was too much of a power rangers rip-off to care. The Western stereotypes that represented the villians also turned me off. It would have been if they had followed up that cliffhanger from season three instead of leaving it completely out in the open. But those are what the season finales do, they never give us closure especially with the ships. |

Actually, I'm not sure Takato played soccer. He was more into the cards. Which reminds me, the Digivolution sequences for Season 3 were amazing. The animation was so cool, the only word to describe it was: SHINY!!! But I wish they confirmed the Takato/Jeri romance. |

Actually I think Takato played at least one game of Soccer, so it sorta counts. That was the closest canon they ever got to confirming Dusky, well besides Yolei and Ken but who gives a crap about them? Takato and Jeri obvously both liked each other, the last few episodes proved that to be true. They just never said "I love you" to each other at any point. At least the relationship wasn't overplayed and made overly obvious at any point. Or at least not as much as Star/Rob was. Those animation scenes were shiny. However I always questioned why it took them so long to swipe a card. Here's something creepy though, when the Tamers merged with their Digimon...did any one...oh I don't know...get slightly disturbed by the fact the kids were naked and inside their...no I'm not finishing that sentence. No way! I'm just going to think of something else that is not as sick and wrong. Seriously Japanese Anime is screwed up. |

Do I get the chance to defend myself, you know I can be disturbed by my own thoughts Shadow. Nevermind, we're both screwed up I guess. Japanese Anime does that to you. |

Something I have noted, besides of what LM mentioned (naked kids... creepy) is that at the end of season four all, the ten warriors (you know the principal characters, I don't remember how they were called) helped to destroy the main villain... this is wierd, why the others villain would jelp the people who kill them? I don't get it, maybe someone could explain that to me. |

I think it has to do with the fact that they were good before they were evil or something like that. I don't know, it's been over 3 years since I saw that episode. OK, um, is it weird if you have a dream that there was another season of Digimon but it was the characters from season 2 and they were in another dimension of the digital world? And...is it even more weird if this may be the second time I've had this dream |

I think it's just wishful thinking on your part--wishing the series didn't suddenly turn retarded towards the end of the second series. I mean, come on! They killed the main villain by telling it what they wanted to be when they grew up! That's something I'd expect South Park to parody, not a serious plot point in a semi-dramatic show. |

Yeah, I remember that. And thinking it was kind of a let down. Big Bad Scary Digimon Dude: RAWR! I will destory the world! Me: No! Because I want to be a writer! Big Bad Scary Digimon Dude: Curses! I am defeated! *dies* Me: ... Heh. I also did not much care for the "everyone gets a digimon" motif. I like happy endings, don't get me wrong, but overly fluffy stuff can be annoying. |

Other Kid: I want to air Japanese TV shows in North America, but I want to dumb them down, write terrible dialogue and have sappy season/series finales Bad Guy: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo...... Probably wishful thinking. The thing is, I wasn't even thinking about anything close to Digimon until I had that dream. And it seemed so real. I woke up and had to ask myself, was that real? No...it wasn't. I have to say that the ending sucked how everyone found out about the digital world and got a digimon. I say it should have stayed a secret |

Now that you mention it, that finale was crap. Then again all finales of the series were. They just kept getting fluffier and fluffier. I mean Season one was all mindless crying and season 2 as you guys mentioned was mindless fluff. I mean, kill a bad guy with dreams. What if I said my dream was to grow up and rule the world with an iron fist would that have worked. Out of all the dreams, Davis' sucks the most. Noodle Stand! Who wants to run a noodle stand? Is really that stupid and uninspired? Season three's finale was okay though because it was a little less fluffly and it could have spawned a good fourth season. But no, we got those power ranger imatators instead.
Hey that's given me an idea, imagine Eric Cartman in the Digital world where he wakes up and a little freaky monster is on his chest. Digimon: I've been waiting for you Cartman: Jesus Christ! (Jumps up and grabs a stick and starts smacking digimon to death) Die godamn hippie! Die! Respect my Authoritha! Digimon: Stop! AH! Stop! Dear god you're killing me! Cartman: I know that's the point! |

I couldn't watch Season 3 because it was just too confusing. I'll try catching episodes on youtube. Saw the finale and...I don't know. Digimon was always so cheerful but when you see Guilmon floating away saying (if I recall correctly), "You promised, Takato. You promised." it was like they were saying, "There is no happy ending." I just watched that scene of them going and I have to say that this best conveys the human emotion. These are people that have found companions, comrades that they are attached to for life and the hatred that Henry feels for his dad is shown simply by him shaking his head. (Don't ask me why I'm talking so dramatically, but when I see something from my youth that I was fond of, all the memories and adoration of it come floating back) The final line in that series "Actually, scratch that-I think I'm gonna keep that promise" made me gasp and say, "Yeah right." It was unexpected but...yet the ending that gave us what we wanted: hope. That hope was empty I'm afraid |

I never did like Digimon, personally. There was just WAY too much plot for a ten-year-old to follow. Also, I was pretty heavily latched onto Pokemon, so I was fanboyish. I also thought--which I still do, to this day--that there were too many similarities to Pokemon to be coincidence. I did watch the show alot, mostly to make fun of it to annoy my brother, so I know a thing or two. The first season Digimon, the little seal thingy that was clinging to the nerdy douchewad...what's his name? I always loathed him. |
