PAM Anderson? Oh GOD no. I hate her movies or, to be truthful, anything she makes. Besides that, she should be forever cursed for the now common cliche of scantily clad people running slowly at the camera. Paul Anderson is a case that really bothers me for a couple reasons, but one of the reasons it bothers me most is thta I can't figure it out. He never had a really bad movie that triggered this backlash. To be honest, somewhere around Event Horizon's release, which wasn't a bad movie, it suddenly became cool to hate Paul and his movies. I can't figure out why for the life of me. I cannot make sense of this in any rational way. And lets face it, some of his movies are the best you could really ask for in respect to their genre. I mean, come on, the man did the best he could with Alien vs Predator on a PG-13 rating. You just KNOW that rating was Fox's doing to attract more viewers. I mean, lets face facts, Fox has a way of ****ing EVERYTHING up. Mortal Kombat was the one video game movie that made hope that good movies of video games was possible. The two Resident Evils, while not perfect, were still better then anything the fans who ***** would have been able to come up with. They would have made it Resident evil one and two, respectively and to be honest, when you lose the interactivity in those story's, you would lose a LOT of the charm, but no, people ***** anyways. Those are only a couple examples. To be honest, I've seen enough of the bashing of him to really make me sick. At this point, people would be willing to associate the downfall of mankind to Paul Anderson. I'm not kidding when I say I wouldn't be surprised if I saw someone say that. It's to the point where I want to strangle these people while screaming "YOU MAKE NO SENSE!" Mat Stone and Trey Parker really don't get much respect from me. To be honest, I heard they both hate Family Guy, but I dislike them more for being hypocrites when they bash Family Guy. To be honest, the only thing they ever did that I liked was Team America: World Police and at times even that seemed too over the top and like it tried too hard. OFten I get the impression these two don't make jokes in good fun, more like what the Simpsons and Family Guy do, but more to piss people off, and I can't respect that. That, and I don't find most of their "humor" funny. About the person who kinda likes Family Guy, you're thinking of Matt Groening, who actually doesn't mind Family Guy. It's the writers of the Simpsons that do. I can accept that al doesn't like Family Guy much anymore, you really can't win them all, but to be honest, I'm getting sick of jealous people who hate that their show is a washed up has been and criticize Family Guy. I'm sick of hearing criticisms of the cutaways, which I tend to find hilarious. I still think the show is just as funny (though the first few episodes of it's return season were a little too inside jokish for my tastes and not as good). Simply, I've gotten sick of the bashing of these things and it's really beginning to bother me. I don't like South PArk at all, but I don't bash it at every turn. So Family Guy has cutaways, heaven forbid they have a comedy style thats their own. Simply put, it's become cool to bash Paul Anderson, Family Guy and other things, and quite frankly, it makes me sick. |

I don't really know how Paul Anderson got into this but I saw event horizon years ago and liked it. Trey and Matt seem like guys who would be hard for me to get along with. I don't really know how they're hypocritical on Family Guy because I don't hear everything they say. But I like South Park because it pokes fun at both sides of the political spectrum. And "Death Camp of Tolerance" should be shown to everybody who THINK they know what tolerance means. The cutaways/flashbacks are what make Family Guy so funny. Instead of being funny by making jokes (which they do sometimes), they rely on a new format which involves old TV shows we thought we had forgotten, incidents and a whole bunch of other stuff. That's comedy. Just because they're not making straight jokes like the conformists, they must be a ripoff of the Simpsons |

Hardcore Simpsons fans are only attacking because they can't let go of the past. All cartoons have their time, and the Simpsons fans should be thankful that the cartoon was as majorly popular as it was. A newer generation of fans want Family Guy for its egdiness and toliet humor. They want to laugh without much thought and the Simpsons aren't standing up the challenge anymore. Do I hate the Simpsons? Absolutely not. I just think that its time is coming to a close, and closure is needed. Family Guy won't be around forever, so we should enjoy the new episodes while we can. Every episode can't be "Best One of 2006", you know? |

True but I haven't seen any Simpsons episode from the past 6 or 7 years on any 'Best of whatever year'. I hope that the movie will be the perfect send off...that or the final nail in the coffin. How much do you wanna bet they're gonna show boobs in the simpsons movie? |

Oh, I'm totally sure the writers are going for shock value when the movie comes out. Cult fans will riot in the streets, painting their skin yellow and killing anyone who even mentions Family Guy.:D |

If they go so far as rioting I may have to go mention Family Guy for an excuse to kung fu them. I don't hate Simpsons either, in fact, I like the early stuff, but the sad fact is that it's gone on far longer then it should have and stopped being funny years ago. No, Family Guy won't be around forever. I enjoy it while it's here now. I still think it's as funny as it was and I enjoy it, it just really bothers me that some things seems to have become cool to hate lately. Are people really that shallow? I guess so. The Simpsons movie is likely to just prove what everyone knows already. It's a dying franchise so desperate to save itself it now has to have a movie. Before a movie wouldn't have raised that from me, but seeming how far it's fallen and the drop in popularity leads me to believe thats the reason for the movie. Once upon a tim they didn't need such a movie to actually be in the spotlight. Anything they try to do as shock in that will likely be lame and predictable. |

I think they wanted to get a point across--and, as they typically do, they used something completely and totally unrelated to the subject matter. The episode wasn't about Family Guy, per se, but it was about censorship. If anything, they encouraged Family Guy to be as crude as they can, to preserve the First Amendment, and that, I believe, is what both shows are about, fundamentally: a celebration of freedom of speech. You don't have to like it. You just have to like Best Friends Forever, or Trapped in the Closet. HA! FOR THE RECORD: I LIKE Family Guy. I've always liked it. Summer '03, when I had nothing to do, I spent the summer watching the first two seasons of Family Guy on DVD, and in winter I watched the third. It's the new episodes I don't like. They do the same things they did before, just...it's not as funny as it used to be. I've gone whole episodes without laughing. But I LIKE the show, and I STILL WATCH IT because there's a diamond in the rough somewhere. I blame American Dad. And Canada. PS: They did something completely unexpected, killing the Vaudville guys. I actually clapped for that scene. |

OK. But don't blame Canada. The murder of the Vaudville duo was a shock and a blessing to me. As soon as I saw them I literally cringed-I CRINGED-and thought, "Seeeeeeettttthhhh....what are you DOING!? Nobody finds this funny and it wasn't that funny the first time you did it in 'Holy Crap'." But when Stewie did I thought, "Seth...you got my letters!" Al, watch 'Whistle While Your Wife Works' on Youtube. I thought it was funny and the ending really made me laugh cause it was just so...I don't know but it was good |

*revives thread* I personally think American Dad is funnier, but I like Meg. No seriously, I like Meg. If I had to pick between Family Guy and Simpsons, though, I'd pick Simpsons. |
