I have currently gotten into Death Note... today! Youtube is an amazing site. The uploader is even more amazing. The plot is very intriguing. The concept of a killing notebook makes me wanna shiver. The characters are cool like Light aka Kira, Ryuk, and "L'. DancingBanana was always a Death Note fan and reccommended it to me. Today I was extremly bored so I decided to check it out. It's amazing, and I only watched 5 episodes so far. It surprises me how L or Light out smart each other on the Kira case. Is there a topic on this yet? I may post it.. I'm afraid DB and I maybe the only ones to know about it... other than tricksterchild. I sent her the link to the vids awhile ago. |

I've heard of the series, but never looked into it, manga or anime. Though I've heard a nasty thing or two about it past volume 8 of the manga, so I've pretty much been deterred from even bothering to look into it in either form. That probably won't change either way. I must admit that while it seems to be original, I'm not horribly intrigued by the premise. Who knows. Maybe I'll give it a shot someday. I did with Naruto, which I originally brushed off due to hearing it was about ninja's, yet seeing a kid in an orange jumpsuit and another in a bright red dress. >_> 'Sides. The last thing I need is ANOTHER series to get into. Comic trades eat up my money as it is, not mentioning the three some manga's I currently invest in. Another might kill me. XD Either way, I doubt very highly you guys are the only one's who really know about it. Maybe about a year ago, but word has generally spread about it by now, and it's often talked about among people in the circles I travel. I wouldn't be surprised to hear others on here have heard of it. |

Oh Blah to that! People just can't get over a certain character at that point; I love L, really, but Near and Mello are awesome characters too. Anyway, as far as the anime goes, it's by far one of the most visually pleasing I've seen. ...Up until around episode 20 (?) or something, because then they randomly redesign Ryuk... Besides that, I DO prefer the manga over the anime for the sole reason that Light's (Raito's) hand gestures during the anime is WAY too easy to make fun of. I think This picture illustrates that point pretty accurately. =P I don't know about fans on this site, but honestly, Death Note has a HUGE fanbase now (the entire series is almost translated in English at this point-- vol 12 is coming up! Eeek!). It also turns out that Death Note is being dubbed for English, but Light's voice... it just sucks. D: It lost that cool, calculated-murder-vibe... Watch the subs. They are made of win. <3 |

L is da shiz. I cant pick between LxLight and LightxMisa. Piccy I drew: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56923192 MUHAHHA look at my siggie. XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD lol the pic is funny too. I noticed how he wrote in his notebook too, to make it dramatic i guess. swish swish swish. XD EDIT Oh and on the fanbase thingy. I heard that Death Note has the biggest fanbase and the smallest amount of haters. Naruto has like an equal amount of haters and fans. |

Well, Naruto's "hater" number is increasing. Quite frankly, the sensible people among the fanbase, myself included, have been utterly disgusted by the utter plummet of writing since Asuma's death. Seriously, Kishi's writing has taken such a nosedive that it's disgusting. It's barely worth keeping up with anymore, and I think the manga's going to end soon. In fact, I'm pretty sure it'll end within a year. I don't know about Death Note either way though. |

My most recently watched anime is actually Afro Samurai. You want to talk about violent, this anime is so much so that it delves into the realm of recockulousness. Apparently, black men with unbelievably huge afro's are extremely good swordfighters. The disco era must have been far more violent then people let on. Most wintastic part of the show? Ninja-Ninja. Never seen without a lit joint in his mouth, he throws out the most hilarious lines in the show. I love how both he and Afro Samurai are voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, yet the two sound so remarkably different. And with Ron Pearlman, it's hard to believe on five episode series could completely contain such levels of awesome without making your TV explode. I think I need to watch this show again now. XD
Which, for some damn reason, seems to be just about every female I know barring three. |

It's kinda like Samurai Champloo, yes. Except violently over the top. Lot of swordfighting action, guns, guts, washes of blood, destruction all with some good old fashioned samurainess. Well, it would be good old fashioned if you could get past the blackness and the huge friggin afro. Basic story is that there are two headbands, Number 1 and Number 2. He who holds the number 1 is the equivilent to god. Only the one with the number two band can touch him. That's where it opens. Right into combat. A challenger with the number 2 headband. The number one is decapitated, and the villain, voiced by Ron Pearlman, takes the number one headband from a young Afro Samurai. From then on, it's a quest for vengeance for Afro, who know weilds the number 2 headband and can challenge the number one, currently the man who murdered his father. Along on his journey happens to be Ninja-Ninja. He literally cannot be seen without a lit joint in his mouth and he says some of the very best lines of the entire show. He's definitely he comic relief character of the shw, and he does his job well, huge white afro and all. To give away anything else would give away what plot there is to it all, and yeah, there is a decent story behind all this. All I can say is you're going to see blood spilled, decapitations, swordfights, sarcastic quips, Samuel L. Jackson voicing two characters and really, really big afro's. I'm not sure whether or not you can find it on the internet right now. It just finished up running on SpikeTV in February, and I think they still play it there sporadically. It's on DVD now, which is how I saw it. About twenty dollars. It might pop up on youtube eventually though. It'll get ripped off fast considering Afro Samurai is licensed, so the under the radar sites would be best to look. Any way you can, I reccomend seeing it if you like a lot of action, gore and ridiculous quips from a sidekick. I just reccomend looking into it period. I think I'll go watch it again, matter of fact. ^___^ |

I watched 16 episodes of Death Note all night long with my bro, I went to bed at 2:30 am! @__@ HOLY SH*T! This anime is TEH awesomeness. I even got my brother hooked on it, that tells ya something right there. It just makes me go "Holy crap!" in like every episode. I swear my brain has never been this overworked, EVER. All the characters are so clever and smart, they can quickly lie on the spot without showing any reaction. Never knew there would be an anime as good as this one o= It totally messes with your head... in a good way ![]() Dare I say it, yes I think "Death Note" is much better than Naruto and Bleach. I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH L! *huggles plushie* He's so cute... in his own weird way <33333333333 Though I heard of some upsetting endings... I'm hoping they'll return, in some way or another.
Amen to that. Cat no likey yaoi, unless it was actually stated in the anime. But the shounen-ai is okay... I have no problem with that xD
If L was real I would bribe him with sweets into marrying me LAWLZOkay, Misa is so annoying.... she's way too desperate and so cheery. Meh, I'm hoping her character won't be as annoying later on in the series. LxLight? Well you know my views on yaoi. Besides, Light wants to kill L, I don't think that shows any love right there... maybe just friendship/rivalry. LightxMisa, Cat does not approve of this. Mainly because, he don't like her, and she's too desperate. Perhaps... later on? For now Cat only likes the anime for it's awesomeness and L, no ships. |

^ LOL CAT. Remember that whole two weeks or so ago, where you didn't like yaoi? Now look at you. Making vids and shipping male/male pairings... I'M THE LAST ONE LEFT. ;_; On a topic-related note. I finally caught up with the anime Bleach. o_o So awesome, I absolutely love Renji and Hitsugaya. Now I just have to read the manga. ;D |

You like Renji? Ugh, I don't.. He's just... annoying to me. But Hitsugaya is fine! I heart him. I like the shippings, Inchigo/Rukia and Uryu/Orihime, the best. But we all have our opinions. |

Eh, I haven't found a character I find annoying yet... You must find Ichigo annoying too since him and Renji are a lot alike. Renji/Rukia <3 Ichigo/Rukia is okay, I like it a little, but I find Renji/Rukia a lot more alluring. X3 I used to love Uuryu(Ishida)/Orihime... but due to recent events, Ichigo/Orihime has caught my intention. 8D I'm pretty much a double shipper when it comes to Bleach, though. So far at least. |
