Ok. Why do you think they want attention? I think the poser gothic people want to have attention. Like this one girl in my class. She said she was gothic and she wore the gothic clothes for like a week then she started to wear prep's clothes. She annoyed me so. I think those are the kind that want attention. |

Ok, first of all, that girl might've been trying to find out who she is. Second of all, They(some of the goths) want attention because they think they're all alone because some of them either make up fake pain to sound like they've been through alot(to sound cool with their friends, or be like: "You think your life sucks? Here's mine.." type of thing) or at least they exxagerate the 'pain'. (sorry if i offended anyone with this post. Just trying to make a point) |

Trust me if you ever met this girl she was a pain and she was described the same way as your post. Sometimes I could tolerate people but she was seriously getting on my nerves. She was the type that wanted attention and she got it. |

I'm like 1/3'd goth, so I sometimes get mad when people have prejudices against them/us. I had to give a f*ckin' lecture in the middle of Spanish class to some of my friends on the difference between a goth and a satanist. Glen Benton of Deicide is a Satanist and he's f*ckin' insane! He's branded an upside down cross on his forehead with a wire hanger! Goth evolved from punk and that's way too long a story for here (I research the goth culture, among other things, during school breaks because I'm that bored/boring) About some "the bad stuff" things in my life, can't say I have that much. I'm lucky enough to come from a family with no internal strife where everyone loves everyone. (If i seem like I'm rubbing this in the faces of people who've had not so fortunate a family situation, then I am very, truly sorry) I think our extended family might be racist though. My dad died though two Novembers ago and that sucked. I really wanted to get to know him better. How the f*ck's that, fifteen years and I never even got to know my own dad. Usually when I go to sleep some weird sh*t goes through my head, Like: "You're a failure and a son. Your life is completly worthless. Just end it and ease everyone's burden." I sh*t you not. And bringin' it up is probably gonna cause some of those thoughts to pop up tonight! Probably the only weird/creepy thing I do is write the word "VENOM" on my left hand in black sharpie and draw what appear to be root's stemming off of the letters. I like swearin', f*ckin' duh! I don't see anything wrong with it. My thoughts on smoking: I don't give a f*ck. I'm seriously thinking about starting myself. It has nothing to do with the person themselves. And please no one tell me no to, you'll be giving me more a reason to start. My thoughts on self-mutilation: ...and I'm not kidding. If I found out about someone who was slicin' themselves, I'd f*ckin laugh at them. I think it's: 1, unbelievably pathetic; 2, tied to a specific genre of fake music: emo; & 3, that whoever's doing it is a complete waste of human life.Suicide: Just don't do it! many survivors say they regretted it. I tried to suffocate myself 3 years ago, but for bullsh*t and laughable resons. I don't believe that if someone kills themselves they automaticly go to hell. Only maybe for weird reasons. Like this one guy, Per Yngve Ohlin, had an obsession with death ever since he fell in a frozen pond, his spleen exploded, and he was clinically dead for a while. He was a tunnel with white light while strange music played. He wanted to be back in that "world" so badly, that he blew his brains all over the wall in his 20's. Well, thats my suicide story. (Holy sh*t, no conversation should end like that!) If someone kills themselves for emo reasons, however, I'll laugh at their gravesite then probably dance on it. I have an intense anger problem, as might be evidenced above, and I don't know why. I have a good family and a well off life. Where's all this anger and hatred coming from?!? It's driving me to the point of insanity! Why am I always mad at someone? Why do I hate so many people? Was I born this way? Am I channeling a demon? TELL ME!!! Wow, I wasted a whole lot of time and space. |

I visited a child phsycoligist and asked him about insanity with people like ourselves. He said that you were either born that way, you had a bad childhood or that's just they way you are. And I won't say anything about smoking to you. People make choices for themselves when they believe that it's the best for them. If you think smoing is the right thing to do then go ahead. But choices can have rewards but also costs. My opinion on smoking: I don't want to see people like that but what like I said it's their choice. The only thing I hate about it is littering nd second hand smoking. I'm alright with something that doesn't affect me but smoking can affect me by me breathing the smoke or people messing up the roads to my neighborhood. It annoys me sometimes. |

Do "emo" people go cuckoo for attention over how bad they think their lives are, in your opinion? If so, I've never done anything for "emo" reasons. If the attention thing doesn't matter, remind me not to confess my life story in your presence. *shifty eyes* I mean, I'm not emo at all, but considering some of the stuff that I've done, decisions I've made, et cetera... I probably would come off that way if I wasn't so freaking emotional about it all. (And not in the boo-hoo way...) Edit: Though I do know what you mean about the obvious emo people. I mean, goths are that way by choice, but when you're emo, it's sort of an annoying way to get attention, to tell you the truth. How do I know? From my hypocrisy. One of my online friends is VERY emo; she's a nice person and everything, and she's a lot of fun to talk to half the time-- but it bugs the heck out of me that the other half of the things I say to her are attempts to talk her out of committing suicide. When I asked her why she wanted to do it, my reply was that she's "just emo". I mean, honestly. Fortunately, she hasn't been like that lately; she's satisfied for the time being due to her new boyfriend. Jeepers... okay, I should stop backstabbing now. (I don't like backstabbing. See? I'm a total hypocrite... okay, so that I'm not a backstabbing queen, I'll say in my [and her] defense that when you get past the emo factor, she's a very fun person to be around and is quite compassionate and caring.) |

A friends of mine had cut her arm so many times just becuase her bf left her. Its so stupid. Two guys in my school were madly i love with some girls so they carved their name ont their own arm. Some ppl in my school cut themselve just for fun... I heard some girls taking about if they were cut themselve and I was seriously shocked. My best friend was once spoiled into cutting herself as well and her life turned so miserbale. She was a wreck, thank God I was able to help. She living happily now. |

The one girl I've mentioned that was pretending to be goth was cutting. She said that she picked up a stray cat and it scratched her. The scratches didn't even resemble cat scratches. I mean I understand if people cut themselves from serious stress but for no reason at all is very sad. Sad as in stupidly sad. |

How the hell does cutting relieve stress? You want to relieve stress, you buy one of those squishy toys, or a punching bag. Running a knife down your wrist doesn't do anything. |

I didn't mean that it relieves stress. Like for example: Degrassi. Eli cutted herself because she was going through stress of her mother being a drunk and stuff. Her mom literally almost burned their house. Someone can go through so much stress that they aren't thinking straight and resort to cutting themselves. I think it's the wrong choice to reslove the stress by harming yourself but that's usually what happens. The girl I mentioned had 'stress' because basically everyone in school disliked her. She told me that her mom was in jail. Her father couldn't take care of her so she lived with her aunt. Her aunt was very abusive. That's what she told me. |
