It's not going to be a retreat.
It's going to be a removal of troops
There is a difference

What "official" end are you talking about?
And if the US and allies are now occupiers, does this mean you agree with Cindy Sheehan and believe the insurgents are "freedom fighters"

the war "ended" the 1st of May of 2003 when Bush declared the end of major combat operations, terminating the Baath Party's rule and removing Iraqi President Saddam Hussein from office.

And they are not "Freedom Fighters", the don't fight for Iraq , they fight for their warlords.
If they are not ocupation forces, what are they UN peace keeping froces?

"Mission Accomplished" was premature but I doubt anyone expected the amount of resistance they would encounter.
I would rather have the US in there than the UN. Let's not forget the good job they did in Rwanda

Meanwhile in Gaza...

Israel tightens its grip on Gaza

Israel has consolidated its hold on the northern Gaza Strip, with air strikes in which at least three Palestinian militants have been killed

PS: Yes they faill in Rwanda, but Do other countries crimes and failures make the ones made by US less horrible?

Check it out. Knowing that you're a...non Republican, Al, I'm sure you'll quickly dismiss this as nothing to get excited about

I'm not dismissing it because I'm not a Republican. I'm dismissing it because of the last three times they've said that. I'll be relieved when I see results.

Let's see if they can find the WMD

EDIT: US echoes Iraq civil war warning

The top US commander in the Middle East, Gen John Abizaid, has said Iraq could move toward civil war if the sectarian violence is not stopped.
