Hey has anyone ever tried researching their ancesstors before?
I have tried to, but my family got mixed up with somebody elses who had the same surname as my Grandfather. It was really confusing. @_@

Yey! I finally completed my family tree! :winner:

After a while I decided I needed some help on it so I turned to my Grandfathers cousin who was also doing a family tree.

In return I helped him with my side of the family...which is rather large.

It may sound really boring but once you've found something about your ancesstors you're glued to the screen. It's actually quite interesting.

I researched my ancesstors on ancesstory.com for a fourteen day free trial, I know it's not scam because I know the first half of my family history off by heart, therefor I know if it's true or not.

It does help when you ask your realitives about your family tree while they're still alive. ^^

Well I really don't need to go into research. Stories and other mementos get passed on through family. I know all about my old relatives all the way to Mohammad Bin Qasim and also the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who as well is my ancestor. Of course all Muslim know of our Prophets so no need to go in research for him and Mohammad Bin Qasim is in my history books so no need to research there either.

I find rather better how the family passes on the stories and cherished items.

Cool. My Nana taught me most of the family history so I know if the information I'm getting's true or not.

I guess it helps when it gets passed down huh?

No because my name is used by alot of people so I probably end up with a person that probably isn't related to me at all.

My parents told me a long time ago it's better if I didn't know about my ancestors...yeah, that's comforting.

I asked my Grandma and she said her parents (my great-grandparents on my mom's side) owned a hotel cottage called Dutch Inn. Apparently, it was the most famous hotel in the state of Maine for a long time in the mid-century. I guess that's pretty cool.

My dad did tell me that we're part-Aztec Indian (he's Mexican). I thought that was rad too.
