I'm just curious on what everyone's favourite band is and why. Tell us their name, genre, fav. album, fav. song, and why you like them.

I have a bunch, but I'll start with PIG DESTROYER!

When it comes to grindcore these guys are one of the best under Napalm Death. They kick so much ass even without a bassist. Scott Hull is such a talented guitarist and hes been in other good bands suck as A**L C**T and Agoraphobic Nosebleed

Lyrically, they are probably from the mind of Ed Gein. They're latest and greatest album is Terrifyer, which contains a doomy 37 min. DVD audio track in 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound entitled Natasha. Every album has a story that'll give you nightmares for weeks.

Green Day for sure. I was raised on them, mom always had 'Good Riddence' playing in the car...she said after listening to that song, it was hard to belive that they were a punk band.
These guys are old, but deffinatly still kicking.
Ehem....favorite album...American Idiot, their most recent one. It rocks, 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' is my favorite on that album but... I like all the songs even enough.
Ah yes, and to quote my friend Stephen...
"The entire album is like a novel loaded with short stories. Every song has it's own story to tell..."

Hiss, Argh, Woof, and Grr -The meaning of my life. Try and decode it.
I dare you.

Hmm, my favorite band, I have so many I never put one as #1.... I guess The Shadows would be my favorite  . I guess the genre they would be in is either rock or surf guitar, but i'm not exactly sure  , he he he. My favorite album by them is "Shadows Are Go!". My Favorite song by them is a tie between "FBI" and "Kon Tiki", I can't decide ^^; . The reason I love this band is because my favorite type of songs are instrumentals, and these guys are the greatest instrumentalists I've ever heard! There songs are so good and so fun! They always make me wanna dance, but then I remember I can't and sit down... :annoyed:  Well, I know there not to well known, but if you ever see one of there albums, pick it up, you won't be dissapointed

My favorite band is Evanescence. They've had a few songs... I think one was in Daredevil... Not sure, though. Alternative stuff mostly. Favorite album? Sadly, I haven't heard all of the songs on the early album, so their latest is my favorite. Breathe No More and Haunted tie for my fav song. I like them because their lyrics actually have meaning, and aren't about how they like to score wit da homies. Yo. And, Amy Lee has a great voice. :)

Hard choice but I have to say Green Day. I grew up listening to them and there good for a punk band. Favorite album has to be Warning because I like the old stuff alot more than the new stuff. Favorite song has to be Minority because it awesome.
Lee: “Hey, have you heard? The upcoming Chuunin exam will have rookies for the first time in five years.”

Tenten: “No way. The Jounins must be trying to look good.”

Lee: “I heard that three of them are from Kakashi’s unit.”

Neji: “That’s interesting.”

Tenten: “Either way...”

Neji: “...It’s pitiful for them.”

Hey there's a Stoner Rock band called Nebula. Just thought you'd want to know that. Pretty standard Kyuss/Fu Manchu type stuff. Not groundbreaking, but entertaining

Soilwork have got to be one of the best bands to come out of the past decade. More than just Sweedish Melodic Death Metal, they've found a way to use a certain ammount of modern influences to differ from ther contemporaries without completly selling out like In Flames.

<< Fear Eddie's blade! Fear it!

Absolute Favorites: Iron Maiden!, Judas Priest, The Scorpions and The Ramones (NOOOOO! Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee! Why did you have to die? )

Others: Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Mettalica (Early stuff), Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Van Halen (David Lee Roth lineup only), Deep Purple, The Who, Whitesnake and too many other rock bands to list. Quite simply, I'm a firm believer that rock bands born n the 80's and earlier are the greatest things to happen to music. Thank god many of these bands are still around (especially Maiden, but the 'Mones are gone    )

Tempt not the blade,

My Gying Bride has got to be the darkest band I have ever heard in my life.

along with Anthema and Paradise Lost, they pioneered Doomdeath Metal (taking slow depressing Black Sabbath-esque Doom Metal riffs and adding the raw Death Meetal vocals to it), though MDB still do Doomdeath.

Now they've added cleaner vocals but they do not forsake the raw Death vocal style that got them noticed in the first place.

You think Evanescence is dark? They dont got s**t on My Dying Bride. Their 1992 As the Flower Withers is a masterpiece, but their latest Songs of Darkness, Words of Light is recommended as well.
