DUDE!!!! IT WAS THE BEST!!! ... Well a few things annoyed me...the Rachel thing. WHY does EVERY single movie HAVE to try and squeeze in a romance thing. That just...sorta pisses me off. The action sceens seemed cool, only the camera kept moving to much...for my tastes anyway. But it is a movie I would see again, it just...is great. Cept for the setbacks up there... ... Anyone see it yet? |

Well, hey! There's a thread for it. My bad for starting another. I saw this yesterday, very awesome! I didn't let the whole romance thing get to me, every person needs an emotional drive to keep them going. I absolutely loved this movie. Very well thought out and almost original. I sometimes forgot that this was based on the comic series. I highly recommend it for any major DC Comic fan. You'll have new respects for Batman after this movie. |

Batman has ALWAYS been my favorite DC hero ever since I saw the original Batman: the Animated Series. Unfortunately the live action movies were never good...until Batman Begins. GREATEST BATMAN MOVIE EVER!. ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME. There was just so much action, and Bale was the perfect Batman/Bruce Wayne. I really liked his portrayal. The cast was excellent. Even Katie Holmes was adequate in my opinion. She wasn't the best, but whatever. The city's depiction was excellent. Such a dark atmosphere. And the last scene...the Joker's calling card...I CAN'T WAIT FOR A SEQUEL |

Wow. This thread has been dead awhile huh? The first Batman movie from Tim Burton has a lot of loyalties, but is something I have trouble enjoying completely. Why? Tim Burton had Batman killing or allowing deaths. That is a HUGE betrayal of character and something I've always had trouble stomaching. Batman. Does. NOT. Kill. Plus, while Jack Nicholson did a fantastic job as Joker, he still felt a bit off in the role. It's hard to explain, but I couldn't get the intelligent psychopath vibe off him. He just seemed, deranged and almost un-Joker-like. Batman Begins did a lot right, and to me was a huge step forward for comic based movies. Many of it's elements were taken from the CLASSIC Frank Miller (you should know him from Sin City) story "Batman: Year One". Liam Neeson (fast becoming a favorite actor of mine) played an EXCELLANT Ras Al Ghul. I was very pleased with his performance, as I was with Scarecrow. But of everything else, I was most pleased to see the Batman villain Mr Zassz (a highly underplayed Batman villain) appear in a small cameo, meaning he might have a larger role in another movie. The only thing that bothered me was the "Batmobile". The Tumbler. Yeah, it's cool and all, but highly impractical for Batman. He's not looking to fight an army or anything. The old Batmobile works because it's built for speed while being highly protective. The new one does not because not only is it bulky, but not practical for speed. Plus, it's a large departure. But I was easily able to shove that one discrepancy aside. You might not like Begins as much Cyboug, but as a Batman comic fan, I was highly impressed and pleased. |

I have to go with dl316bh. The Batmobile was a bit of an issue for me, as well as the love story. Batman's emotional drive is justice and to keep other people from suffering the way he and his parents did. But, I was generally able to overlook that stuff, because everything else was excellent portrayal of Batman and Gotham City. The game is really good too, (I know it's kinda old) because it's the first one that actually uses Batman's ability to scare the heck out of criminals before he even attacks. Can't wait for a sequal! |
