((Weissland Map - In case anyone wants to find it quickly on the map.)) Valoruin was not as large as other cities in Weissland. It's proximity to the Crevasse made it less desirable to live in, for superstition of that place still ran deep through the people of Weissland. Many wood elves frequented the city, due to the fact that it bordered onto Vilyn Woods. In truth, it almost acted as a diplomatic city to the elves. A lifeline between the elves and the rest of Weissland. Its architecture reflected this, too. Many parts of the city looked strange as the traditional stone work of Weissland mixed with the tall, wooden buildings of the elves. Still, the city presented itself as a place of tolerance and it had strived to become just that. Crime was low, race-based crime was even lower. Life was good in the city. Nhazhan moved through the back alleys of Valoruin. Word had reached his ear that Mordain had been spotted here. He was keeping his power contained, for now; none in the city would fall to his plague, for he could not risk Mordain and his companions learning of his presence. The words that had lead him here he, truthfully, found a little suspicious. It seemed to be on everyone's lips in the last town he 'visited'. But, any lead was better than no leads. He could not afford to not follow it up. He had his cloak wrapped tightly about him and was doing his best to avoid the mortals. He did not need any unwanted attention. |

None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

--Enters from Melldin-- Mordain approached what he guessed was the King's small camp outside the city, amongst some trees. The Seekers and Nathaniel followed behind him. He walked purposefully forward. His mind was filled with a sense of eagerness to be done with this business. There was much that needed done in Weissland, and they did not need Krodalis and his foul minions adding any more to the list. |

Seeing a group of men dressed in dark clothing approaching, James stood up, motioning for Kassal to do the same. As the men got closer, he recognized Mordain at their head, and walked out to meet him. "Lord Mordain," he said with a nod. |

Mordain returned the nod. "My King." He cast his eyes over the city. "We know that this creature is in the city, but we do not know where. How do you want to handle this?" |

James thought for a moment; the city was fairly well-populated, and in his and Kassal's observation, there was no visible epidemic yet sweeping the people. "Cautiously," said James finally. "I am torn, Mordain. On one hand I think we should evacuate the city, to keep the people safe. Yet doing so would alert the demon to our presence and he may escape. If we try to hunt the demon in secret in the city, he may discover us and infect the people." James paused for a moment, looking between Mordain and Nathaniel and asking, "What do you think?" |

Nathaniel nodded "It is indeed a great risk. There is much we do not know about this demon, there is no way of knowing how quickly its powers could infect the people or how quick the spread would be. If we could find it without it discovering us, perhaps the Seekers could evacuate the area around the creature while we battle it." |

"And yet an entire city sweep by so few could take days. Perhaps we should bring the city guard in on this operation." said Mordain as he folded his arms across his chest. "An evacuation of the population would remove the civilians from risk, and leave us free to sweep the city with the added numbers of the city guard." The city guard were unlikely to be able of doing much against the creature, but they had offered their lives to Weissland by agreeing to become city guard in the first place. He saw them as... expendable, for the greater good, of course. |

James thought for a moment. "If we evacuate, though, I feel like the demon will flee," he said. "If we cordon off the city using the guard, we will either know the demon's location as soon as it tries to escape and we can apprehend it, or perhaps, with no means of escape, it may seek us out." |

Nathaniel said "If we cordon off the city with the city watch the people could be evacuated while we search. The demon will not be able to leave without being discovered and we can hunt it down and destroy it." He thought for a moment before adding "Although I think it would be wise to teleport the thing out into the hinterland before destroying the body." |

"Arrogance would seem to be a weakness that these creatures share. They underestimate our abilities. At least, the one in Meldin did. Perhaps we can use that to our advantage. But, as for our current course, I think that Nathaniel's idea would be the most efficient way of evacuating the population. Leaving them in the city only puts them at risk. And yet, as has been said, an evacuation would sooner alert the demon. James," Mordain walked closer to the King, "you must decide which risk is greater. Either we risk the lives of those within the city walls, or we risk the demon escaping to do further damage." |
|

James nodded and thought for a moment before saying, "Cordon off the city and quietly begin evacuations; ensure that people do not panic and that it goes as smoothly as possible. Tell the men to wait until we have begun our search. I want to get as close to the demon as possible before maybe alerting it." |

Mordain nodded and moved away towards the city with his Seekers following behind. The first order of business would be to speak with the guard captain in the city. |

Kassal reached into his saddlebags and pulled out two cloaks, handing one to James. James nodded and pulled it over his armor; it would do little to disguise the fact that he was wearing plate, but at least it would hide the whitish metal gleam and draw less attention than the holy armor. They began to move into the city with Mordain and the Seekers.

Nathaniel pulled his hood up as he took one last look at the glowering clouds overhead before following the others into the city. He knew Captain Duir, the city watch commander, of old. Hopefully they could get things moving quickly. |

((Who wants to RP the City Watch leader? Gorfang, you named him, you want to do it?)) Mordain dulled his robes with a few spell words, masking their glowing runes. He also placed a simple illusion upon his staff to contort it to look far simpler. The King had made a good move; it would be wise to do everything possible to mask their identities. He approached two guards at the city entrance. "Who goes there?" asked one. "We are here on official Weissland business. Please, is there somewhere we can speak?" replied one of the Seekers. "Of course. This way." The guards lead Mordain, James, Nathaniel and the rest of their company to a watch post right beside the gates. Their numbers were great so the Seekers waited outside and moved out of sight. "What can we do for you?" asked a man within, apparently the superior in charge of this gate. "We need to speak with your commanding officer." said Mordain. "What business do you have with Captain Duir?" queried the man as he arched an eyebrow. Mordain stepped back and gestured to James and waited for the King to reveal himself to this curious man. |

The man gulped and shot out of his seat, saluting and standing to attention faster than Mordain had ever seen a man do so. "Sire, please, I.. I am sorry. I did not recognise you." He gestured frantically to one of his subordinates. "Fetch the Captain at once!" "Keep the King's presence to yourselves. Word must not spread." said Mordain. He could tell that, without his staff and usual robes, these men did not recognise him, but that was of no consequence. All they needed to know was that he was with the King. That was enough to secure his authority. |

"Relax, man," said James, motioning to the visibly-nervous soldier. The man nodded and moved his feet a fraction apart, but his body remained fairly rigid, and James smiled and shook his head. |
