Kor'Mor'Oka sat huddled in the back of the cave and waited. Since the battle of Asulien he had dragged himself out of sight, into the mountains to bide his time. He had gone out at nights, slaughtering what animals he could find, slaking his thirst. For now, the vampire needed to recooperate and regenerate. But when the time came, when he was recovered, Kor'Mor'Oka would leave to take what he could. The vampire smiled a wicked but lipless smile, much of his face had been melted away, displaying a skeleton beneath, especially the fangs of the vampire. He did not know what was happening out in Weissland, news would be something to find first. The armies of Drathmor had been defeated yes, but Kor'Mor'Oka did not believe they had been destroyed utterly. Someone would have survived, some beings would be vying for power, and Kor'Mor'Oka was smart. The vampire did not need to play for the role of leader, he knew it was much smarter to oversee who was trying to take charge and throw his lot in with whoever stood the greatest chance of success.

And he would deal with his enemies, through future vampires sent as messages. Kor'Mor'Oka had lost his apprentice, but would it not be ironic to give his foes a gift in the form of their friends, allies and loved ones becoming Kor'Mor'Oka's servants?

Kor'Mor'Oka stood up slowly in the cave. Time had passed and he had recovered remarkably well despite the terrible injuries he had sustained during the battle. In fact it was remarkable that he had even survived. Still, his wings were weak and he could only fly for a very short length distance at a time. But he could go down from the mountains in search of better prey.

The vampire used the air currents to glide, saving the power of his wings as much as possible. Swooping down into the lower mountains he spied a pack of wolves and came upon them. The wolves howled in fear as the vampire grabbed one of their number in his talons and sunk his teeth into it's furry hide. Draining the creature even as he wheeled in the air, Kor'Mor'Oka dropped the wolf and returned for another. The poor animals were unable to fight back against the speed of the vampire. Once he had devoured several others from the pack the remaining wolves scattered. The chase was pointless, so the vampire returned to the cave.

The sun would arrive in a few hours, now it was time for Kor'Mor'Oka to rest. But soon, maybe even as soon as a few days from now, Kor'Mor'Oka would be able to leave the mountains completely to seek out better hunting grounds, most certainly outside of the direct influence of the Order of Light.

Kor'Mor'Oka flexed his wings, feeling the joints crack due to inactivity. The vampire grinned wickedly before walking out of the cave into the night. The undead creature flapped his wings and took to the air, swooping south and picking up speed as he travelled. He had decided to head for Endral, as he knew that he would find no Weissland forces to attack him there. Later he would travel further south, possibly heading back into the Defiled Kingdom.
