--Enters from Amei--

Melldin was a small settlement. At least, it had been, less than an hour ago. Nhazhan and Anailla had arrived. As a result, the settlement now lay in waste, courtesy of Nhazhan. Anailla was still badly wounded. But Nhazhan far from possessed any healing abilities. That was not his purpose. He had laid the Seraphim down beside the village hall.

Shadows darkened and the skies vanished behind blackest clouds as Krodalis descended upon the area, rising as a shade.

"Master." spoke the two servants.

"We suffered a great loss in Amei with the death of Kassandra, and the escape of our prey." said Krodalis, his voice edgy.

"Forgive uss, Masster." said Nhazhan.

The shade advanced towards the creature. "I am not here to absolve you! You must earn that, by rectifying your short comings. Mordain and his allies have passed beyond my sight, no doubt thanks to his father. That man knows too much to be allowed freedom. He is your highest priority. The boy is only second."

The servants nodded.

"As well as this, I am sending others to help you."

"Who, Master?" asked Anailla weakly.

Krodalis moved to look back towards the west. "Kvahla already moves, and Ulldomae will follow. Without Wyrillyn, they will not know how to defend themselves against Ulldomae. Take him out of play before Ulldomae arrives."

"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

One of the Last Guardians. Suck it.

--Entering from a field--

The air seemed to shift and warp for a moment, and then the nameless man appeared. He slowly looked around, taking in this new setting. Another mortal delusion, homes and buildings, safety, and judging by the looks of this place, that delusion had been proven for the falsehood it was.

Krodalis turned towards the new arrival. "Join us." He said, gesturing for the man to move closer.

"I have told these two of what must be done. Other servants of mine move now to join you. When the first has arrived, you will begin your hunt. For now, the prey has passed beyond my sight." The shade moved closer. "Wyrillyn is your highest priority. The boy is secondary."

"The righteous arm of Aracen will be too busy blindly following the supposed will of their god. Mordain is their target. But, if they do prove to be a further problem, them show them no mercy."

"So they want to destroy him. Mortals truly have no way of prioritising their enemies." The nameless man said. "Just flesh and emotion, no logic."

Anailla moved to stand, but stopped, gripping her chest. "Master... I am wounded, I can do nothing in this condition. I would only provide a weakness."

Krodalis nodded. "This is true. You shall rest." He looked to the enigma and Nhazhan. "The pair of you will carry out the hunt, for now. Kvahla will join you. Anailla will follow when she can."

Nhazhan stood and bowed. "It sshall be sso, Masster."

The aged creature nodded and began walking west, back in the direction of Amei.

((I think we've waited long enough, Gorfang?))

Anailla moved through the ruins of Melldin. Her wounds, for the most part, were healed. She flexed her sword arm and swung her blade into a post, attempting to regain a feel for her weapon. Her mind was filled with thoughts of weakness, shame and failure. She had failed in Amei, allowing herself to be bested by some upstart mage. And now she had been forced to stay behind whilst the others went forth to carry out the Master's glorious work. She would redeem herself. She had to.

Suddenly, the sound of someone approaching drew her attention. She saw no one yet, but instantly slipped into the shadows of the village and kept her sword close. She would watch and wait.

-----

--Enters from Carak Prison--

Mordain saw what had once been Melldin ahead. Corpses littered both the streets of the village, and the ground that lead to it. Judging by the way their bodies lay upon the ground, most had been running when they were struck down. He stopped and knelt beside the bodies of what seemed to be mother and daughter. One bore wounds born of magic, whilst the other had been slain with a blade.

"Keep your wits about you. There is no telling what we will find here."

The Mage of Shadows walked on, with the Seekers behind him.

"Spread out. Stay in groups of at least two. Search everywhere. Should you find anyone, do not confront them alone. Call to the rest of us first."
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

((Yeah.))

--Entering from Carack Prison--

Nathaniel drew his sword in a fluid motion as he walked, quietly speaking the words to raise his magical defences. He kept his eyes sharp as he looked through broken windows and shattered doors, the alleys between houses, and any nook or cranny he could find. The Seekers and Mordain would be doing the same, if there was any leads to the enemy here, they would find them.

Anailla peered from the shadows. It was dark still, the morning light still a distant thing. Her eyes pierced through the night, though, and she watched her enemies enter the town. She saw the mage who had bested her in Amei, she saw the force of Seekers and she saw Mordain. This would not be easy. Flying away would likely result in her being shot from the sky by either of the mages, and confronting the force directly would surely end in ruin. Caution. How dreadfully tedious.

-----

Two Seekers moved down one of the back-alleys of the village, approaching a house with its door blown open. Scorch marks were upon the wood of both the door and its frame, scorches from spells by the looks of it.

"We need to check this out." whispered one.

The other merely nodded.

"Help!"

They heard the voice from within the house. It sounded like the voice of a child.

"Please, help me!"

It was not a yell, rather it was faint and weak. The Seekers moved quickly into the house.

-----

Anailla did not hesitate once the Seekers had entered. She had been hiding behind the door and struck instantly, killing them both silently and then quickly pulling their bodies from view. She began undressing one of them as she mused to herself how useful it was to be able to throw her voice, and to mimic the voices of others so well.

Her white garments were far too obvious in the night, so she exchanged them for one of the Seeker uniforms. She had to cut slits in the back for her wings, but that was simple enough. It was not a disguise; Mordain was no fool and would not believe for a moment that she was a Seeker, but it would better mask her from view in the night. The bodies were hidden under a table and she then set about her work, once again moving through the darkness in search of her next set of prey.

-----

Mordain moved to the centre of the town. There were so many bodies littered on the ground, all bearing expressions of horror. What had happened here truly chilled the innocent to the bone, before their lives had been taken. Krodalis would pay.

Nathaniel saw a larger building, perhaps the village meeting hall. He entered cautiously, one of the Seekers further behind him. As Nathaniel looked around and his eyes adjusted to the gloom, he saw the bodies. Most were dead where they fell, but some had been strung up, hanging from the rafters like puppets with nobody to control them. Grimly Nathaniel concluded that this was not the worst sight he had seen in his life.

He moved further into the room before pointing with his empty hand and saying "Check those side rooms, I'll check upstairs."

The Seeker nodded but said nothing, moving off to check the several rooms which led off from the main hall. Nathaniel made his way to the set of stairs which turned at a right angle half way up to lead to the second floor. He placed a boot on the step, hearing it creak slightly. He continued carefully, reducing the noise as much as possible through skilled movement.
