"Perhaps your faith will save you, then," said Laiya. "I do hope so...for your sake..." "Prepare to die, both of you," said Kelan, and with that the monks spread out into a long line facing Mordain and the mage. There were twenty monks, all arrayed in armor beneath their white cloaks, and all powerful divine channelers. "You must realize that you cannot hope to win. You may be able to best one or two of us individually, but not our combined power, even with the evil that flows within your blood, Mordain." |

Mordain gripped his staff with both hands before slamming the butt into the ground, unleashing a demonic howl as he did so. A terrible shockwave blew forth and tore apart the ground in its path. A good number of the monks were blown back and knocked to the ground, though the more powerful members were able to defend themselves. The Mage of Shadows used the precious time to raise magical defences about himself. He then began moving towards the nearest monk. |

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

Kelan and Laiya were already in action, defending against Mordain's sudden attack while preparing to deliver blasts of their own. As soon as Mordain started to move, the two monks unleashed their power, sending concentrated arcs of pure-white energy at Mordain. Laiya's blast hit Mordain in the legs while Kelan's struck his chest, knocking him off-balance and sending him to the ground. The rest of the monks recovered and prepared to attack. |

Mordain went to his knees, but as his palm hit the ground he spoke words of dark magic. Streaks of shadows snaked along the ground, leaping up to snare the two closest monks. A bolt of magic came towards him, but he raised his staff and batted it away. He rose and spoke two words, launching a jet of black fire at the girl, Laiya. |

Laiya held her hands up and closed her eyes, allowing the fire to hit her palms and then she clapped her hands together, snuffing it out. She then countered with a quick burst of magical energy as she retreated to recover for a moment. |

Mordain raised his staff and met the blast with it, his staff blocking the magic. His fists clenched tighter around the unnatural wood. "You call me monster..." he said coldly. |

Nathaniel raised his magical defences quickly. The monks were focussing on Mordain, probably not wanting to attack him unless he struck first. He spoke the words to a powerful spell. The monks would have no idea of what this spell was, even Mordain would only be able to guess. It was after all, something Nathaniel had developed in his exile, rather fitting to use it to defend Mordain in his exile. Magic crackled around him as he chanted the words to the spell. |

Kelan launched a wide arc at Mordain, one that the man could not dodge, and it struck him, flinging him back a few feet. |

Mordain's staff took the brunt of the impact, but nonetheless he was cast back, though he managed to keep his footing. Slowly, he raised his head to look at the enemy. From within the cowl, his red eyes glowed bright. "Let me show you what this monster can do!" he snarled. In the next instant, there was a thunderous roar and the top-half of his robes tore themselves away as his wings spread. In the next instant, he rushed forward and grabbed one of the monks by their shoulder and carrying them high into the air before dropping them to their death. |

"Knock him down!" shouted Kelan. "Get him down!" The monks began to focus their energy all at Mordain, and a dozen beams of white light shot up and converged on the demon. |

Mordain weaved through the air, attempting to avoid the bolts. He succeeded for the most part, but nonetheless was struck in the shoulder, chest and knee. The damage done caused him to fall sharply towards the ground, but he eased his landing with his wings. He fell to his knees upon the ground with one hand on the ground, the other gripping his chest. |

Mordain landed some distance away from the monks, and the monks took a moment to recover. "You cannot keep fighting, Mordain," said Kelan with a knowing smile. "You are battered. Just give up now; you cannot sustain this." |

It was then that Drakkon finished his spell and unleashed it. There was a blinding flash and an almost defening crack, leaving the smell of burnt air hanging for a moment. Twenty heavyily armed and armoured constructs had teleported between Mordain and the monks. They instantly charged into combat with the monks. Drakkon walked quickly over towards Mordain to regroup. |

Mordain breathed heavily as Nathaniel approached him. "I... can't keep this up, boy. We need to retreat." He said through troubled breaths. |

Nathaniel nodded "Good, that's why I figured a distraction would be the best use of my magic." The magic constructs advanced on the monks. They looked roughly like men in armour and with weapons like swords and axes, but formed from magical energy of swirling colours. |

((Not really, since I have no idea what magical constructs are, which is why I asked, and I couldn't really find information on them besides a list of stats for some RPG, so I guess I'll just wing it...)) Laiya unleashed a powerful burst of magic, striking down several of the constructs before flinging her cloak open, revealing her silvery-white armor, and drawing her sword. One of the constructs attacked, and she parried a blow before stabbing through it. Around her, the monks were doing the same, mixing magic and sword attacks. |
