Merely a poll to see where people stand, I vote yes, people should have the right to cursive language if need be. I know this question has been raised before but i'm wondering if opinion has changed. Make your votes count. ;)

Could you please state why you think one should have the right to use cursive language?

merely for Libertarian purposes. On the principle that members should have the right.
And if anyone here hasnt heard a bad word before, they shouldnt be here, let alone society itself.

You know that the cursing-sensor was removed, right?

I voted 'Yes'.

In moderation, however it makes it a less nice place for young new people to be honest.

I don't think you gave a good enough reason. Why is there a principle that people should have the right to use profane and insulting language?

The right to have freedom of speech, basically.

HIC, I demand that you bludgeon yourself with a rock until your mental status returns to the level of a rapist who calls back to apologise! Your use of elaborate language and words is making me uneasy. Although, I am somewhat relieved to see that your punctuation remains shit-based.

The general right to have freedom of speech stands within the frame of not insulting other people. If you argument for the "freedom of speech"-right do you also argument for the right to say whatever you want on any matter?

The general right for freedom of speech stands upon the basis of one's interpretation. I will say what I wish to say no matter the consequence, because in my interpretation of freedom to speech, I am not prohibited to say any particular word, be it insulting or not. It is very rare that people would use profane language in order to insult someone on a discussion board, however if someone wishes to swear, it is their right to say whatever the hell they want to.

Swearing and such does not have to be insulting. There's many people who use swear words in their sentances, not to be offensive but simply for emphasis.

And Andy, what you said. If people expect the internet to be swear-free, then maybe they should go and sell their PC :P Maybe they could trade it in for a portal to the fairy-tale land of dellusion? :P

Exactly. Swearing is basically a crude form of an adjective.

Exactly as Alex has said.

I say that swear should be allowed, though not to use it constantly, except in spamith village. THere if you dont swear you should be banned from that particular area instantly :P

I think that swearing should be allowed if people want to swear. Let's face it, all of the young members of the forum have grown up as part of the forum, and most of the new members who have joined are teenagers or older.

Hell, walk around my town and you hear a lot worse than you'd ever see on here. It's a simple fact of life that people swear, and the internet is certainly not excluded from that.

Was Jonno saying something about deleting his posts before my hand slipped?

But, I agree 100% with what Gorfang says. I think we're all mature enough to know when enough is enough with swearing, and if it is allowed then I think we would see a lot less of it than we would if there was a taboo.

I think that in moderation it's okay in a post, however I think moderation is needed so that all thsoe who don't enjoy or don't like swearing can still enjoy the forum without excessive swearing or threatening posts.
