Kristian looked up. The night had descended, and the boy was weary. He yawned and stretched. "Well, sir, I'm going to rest now. Was nice talking to you." Kristian walked away, going below deck to sleep. |

The elf nodded but said nothing. He stood for a few minutes more, before returning to his own room to rest. |

The journey had been going well, so far. The weather had been good and nothing aggressive had been spotted. Five days had passed. Brakk stood on the deck, watching as Kristian and another of the crew washed the deck's surface. What Kruk had said had stayed fresh in the captain's mind throughout the journey. Kassandra was stood at the edge of the ship, gazing out at... nothing. Brakk wanted to move closer, to investigate, but he dared not question her. She was a fiery woman that no one would want to cross. |

Akeld walked up onto the deck to take a look around. They had been on the ship for five days now, but each day he would spend some time watching the sea, even if it was mostly the same sight each time. The others were still below, checking on their equipment. |

More days had past. They were less than a week from their destination, now. Brakk stood at the front of the ship, staring deep into the waters below him. His mind wandered as he looked into the water. The oceans had always done that to him. |

Akeld sat in his room with Nacea. He spoke quietly "From the looks of things we'll be in the White Realm within the week." Nacea stretched her arms wide and said "Good, I can't wait to get off this ship and stretch my limbs properly." Akeld nodded thoughtfully "Yes. Although I wonder how this mission is going to go." |

Kassandra was again at the front of the ship, gazing at the waters beyond. She had stood completely still for hours now. The crew were beginning to get uneasy about it, but wouldn't question her. Kristian moved across the deck, rolling a small wooden circle around in his hand. It was just a coaster from below deck, but he was bored and would do anything to entertain himself. He spotted the woman, Kassandra, and began making his way over. "Excuse me, I-" he began. "Get away, boy." snapped Kassandra, looking scornfully towards him. Kristian did as he was told. He turned around and left her alone, and he didn't look back at her. |

Akeld paced back and forth in his room. For some time a sense of growing unease had fallen over him. Perhaps it was the lack of information they had received about their mission, or something else he could not quite place his finger on, but the feeling was there none the less. |

Two more days went by, the crew doing what they could to amuse themselves. Of course, they were not as affected by the journey as the mercenaries were; the crew were used to life at sea. Vold approached his captain. "How much longer, captain?" "Can't be more than three days, Vold." replied Brakk. Vold nodded. "Good. I'll be glad to get back onto dry land and get a nice hot meal in a tavern." "Don't bet on that. We've still got a job to do." |

After the long journey, the crew were relieved when the coast of the White Realm began to creep across the horizon. "Rouse the crew, and the mercs. It'll soon be time to go to work." said Brakk, to both Vold and Kristian. The pair walked away to carry out their instructions. |

"And just what would you know of it?" demanded Vold. "Far more than any of you." replied Mordain, his voice empty of compassion, but filled with rage. "You've taken on something, something dangerous. I thought that boy to be dead. And I thought this nightmare was over. I thought all that was left were the ravings of a mad man, safely locked away. But it seems I was wrong." "So you've come to try and take him back?" said Brakk, stepping forward with his sword drawn. Seekers moved instantly, but were halted as Mordain raised his hand. "No. Not yet. You will be invisible, to everyone. To the people of Weissland, to the people of the Realm, to the very soldiers that answer to me. I'll take care of that." He paused. "But one day, I will return here." Another pause. "And I will kill you if you get in my way." "Captain?" Brakk opened his eyes to see Kristian standing over him, shaking his shoulder. "Sir, we're almost at the dock." said the boy. "Ah, thank you lad. So long at sea... I must've dosed off. Is everyone ready?" |

"There it is, at long last. Ortin port. Remember, keep down and keep quiet. We don't need a high profile." said Brakk. "Very true, Brakk. But you and your men won't be needed. Take in the town, stay with the ship. Whatever you wish. I'll go with the mercenaries." said Kassandra, appearing on deck for the first time in several days. Brakk made a curtious bow. "As you wish." The fiery woman set her gaze on the coast and merely nodded to the mercenaries. --Leaves Sea of Strength-- --Enters Ortin-- |

--Enters from Ortin Port-- The ship had been making good progress across the water. The crew were keen to be rid of Kassandra, her prisoner and the mysterious man who had neglected to speak with them. Even Brakk was beginning to wonder if it was worth it. Wyrillyn Thaendil had been secured below. Kristian entered his room with a bowl of food. "Do you know what you've gotten yourself into, boy?" asked Wyrillyn, not looking at Kristian as he spoke. Kristian swallowed hard. This man scared him. "Captain... captain told me not to talk to you." "Well you've already started." countered Wyrillyn. "That woman, Kassandra, do you know what she is? Do you know who she works for?" Kristian only shook his head. "You pirates are so pathetic. In me, Kassandra's master will find the final piece of his puzzle. I've been hiding from him for years in the cells of the dark elves. I clawed at the walls of my cell to mark the runes that kept him away. But... he found me. And now you're going to deliver me. Believe me, kid, what you're doing isn't worth all the money in the world." Kristian took a step closer. "Who does she work for?" Wyrillyn's haggerd head turned towards him. "She services the oblivion in which all life will end. She serves a power greater than anything you know. The gods themselves cower at his name!" Again, Kristian took a step closer. "Who? Who is he?" Wyrillyn smirked like a madman possessed. "But you already know. He's the reason you can't remember your life!" |

--Enters from Ortin Port-- The nameless man stood in one of the rooms below deck. He thought about how fortuitous it was that he had come to the White Realm when he did, and decided to leave when he did. Life must end, it seemed so clear and simple now. The nameless man was also curious as to why life still existed. These Realmers acted as if they were great soldiers, warriors of Mjolnir and all. Yet he had moved and killed them as easily as if they were standing still. He had killed several of them while barely using a fraction of the power he possessed. If life was so fragile, so simple to snuff out, why did it still exist at all? |
