Korth stood beside Khanden, with the Legion soldiers moving to stand just behind him. He waited for Kalon to make his move. |

"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

Kremelin watched from the doorway as the two healers led by Medran carried the man into a small room with a bed and a desk. It was one of the cells usually reserved for the ancient times when pilgrims used to travel to the Sanctuary in Asulien. It had not been used in ages. The two healers washed the body of the man from sweat and dirt before covering him with bed clothing. The eyes of the man was still shut, and he seemed to be in the middle of a bad dream from which he did not manage to wake up from. His facial muscles was tight and constantly twitching. "Are we to wake him up, Master Medran," one of the healer asked. |

"Yes. It doesn't look like he's sleeping soundly right now," Medran answered. ---- Khanden made the first move, making a great vertical slash with blinding speed. It was too fast for the dark elf to avoid and the blade embedded itself in the armour plates covering his shoulder. Kalon seemed unaffected however, and as the Royal Guard heaved his sword back out, he was cut right across his face. It was all he could do to clutch his wound as the searing agony spread through him. He was on the floor immediately, his face melting and burning from the inside, the rest of his body hidden by his armour but suffering the same fate. With his other hand, the dark elf lord bashed Korth backwards with his shield. The soldiers closed in on him now but were caught in mid-stride and cut down by the other dark elves as they revealed themselves again. All of a sudden, the group was surrounded. |

One of the healers carefully and slowly touched the shoulder of the man on the bed, trying to bring the man out of his dreams without giving him a shock. The other healer took some water and brought it to the man's mouth. Even while asleep the man drank like he had not touched liquid in ages, and then when he was done he fell back on the pillow and opened his eyes, squinting in the light from the lanterns. When the man seemingly realized where he was and gained consciousness properly he sat up in the bed. Quickly with flickering eyes he looked at the healers, Medran and Kremlin and retreated to a corner in the bed. "Who are you?" he said. "Where am I?" |

"My name is Medran, and you are inside the sanctuary of Asulien," Medran said. "How do you feel? You've been unconscious for some time." |

The man's gaze locked in on Medran. His eyes was filled with fear and confusion. "I do not know..." he said. "I guess I am alright. Asulien in Weissland?" |

"At an altar?" he asked bewildered. "To one of the gods? But how did I get there?" He raised his voice a fraction. "How did I get here at all?" |

"Well, I was hoping you might know that yourself. We have never seen this happen before, but we think you must have been sent - either by one of the Gods, or by someone else with the means to do so." |

"My thoughts are along the same line as Castoden's." Said Mordus. "Any additional construction beyond the outer wall could not hope to stand up to the sheer bulk of the undead. It would be like straw holding back an ocean. If anything further could be done then I would suggest blocking all minor roads and alleyways in the city that we may funnel the undead into choke points along the larger streets. Make their numbers count for little." |

((Just a suggestion...perhaps split the topics? There's a lot going on...)) James nodded. "Put the majority of the archers on the outer wall, with a small reserve on the inner wall to cover a retreat if need be. Have a contingent of soldiers on the outer wall to repel any siege troops that try to climb, with the rest of the soldiers down in the streets in the chokepoints. Spears and shield walls will even the playing field back towards us." |

General Bayel said "While I agree defences beyond the walls will not be of great help, what about traps? If we could dig enough pits around the walls, the enemy would struggle to get siege equipment, or at least regular siege equipment to the walls. And those pits could hopefully be filled with stakes or pitch to light." |

"I agree with General Bayel," Loter added. "Digging pits around our walls will earn us much time and will slow the advance of the undead." He turned to Castoden. "Archers alone on the walls however will do little damage against undead. We need something heavier. Something more serious that arrows. Stones, boulders and bricks. I say we defend the walls in usual manner. Leaving only a handful of soldiers to repel those attacking the walls will doom this handful." |

"The ballistae are the only thing heavier we have," said James, "and I am not going to have soldiers tear down this city to have rocks to throw at the undead. It will tire them out before the battle even begins." |

"Make the citizens do it," Loter said lifted his arms. "Arrows will not stop the undead. We should know this after so many encounters." |
