The siege towers of the dead army came to the walls, releasing their landing platforms. The heavy portions of wood and iron came crashing down atop the battlements. From within the towers, undead shambled forth, bolstered by a good number of orcs in brutal armour. The minions of the Dark Lord poured onto the wall.

-----

Moarbrek charged with Urden, but the noticed the siege towers. He broke away from the Fel knights, but not without calling to Urden.

"Continue on to the gates! Break them open!" he called.

The fiery warlord nodded and continued. Moarbrek, however, went straight for one of the siege towers. He lept from his steed and climbed the frame of the construct until he came to be on the battlements.

The Lich Lord tore through the Weisslanders. They could not hope to match his skills with a blade.

-----

Narak'Phel kicked out at Mordain and sprouted wings from his back, flying backwards and rising up. "You still can't match me, Mordain. Whatever you may be!"

Mordain's eyes lifted to meet the gaze of Narak. Then, after holding the gaze for a few moments, Mordain spread his own wings and rose through the air to be at the same level as the vampire.

He said nothing; he flew forward and slammed into the creature, knocking Narak back before slashing out again with his claws.
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

"Who do you think you are?" Andros roared over the heat of battle as the four undead vampires landed around him. With a quick spell word and gesture with his hands two of the Nathremal were obliterated while the other two were blown off the wall with great, burning wounds. With a quick stride Andros moved close to Tidurion. Behind him came Jonas Famil and his brother, two soldiers serving the mage lord Solo Fryysen. They fought well together, through the battle with great skill like they were the same man fighting with four hands and two swords.

Making sure the area around were safe Andros bent down to Tidurion, laid his hand on the man's head and whispered words of healing.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin were sprinting down the stairs unaware of the transformation of Mordain and the fact that they had moved their fight into the air when the sword Fimbulanna suddenly started to tremble and shake violently. He looked at it, the blade was shining with a ice blue colour. He turned sharply around and looked to the wall. It was not the sword of Justin, it was the sword of Ariakas given to Justin. Now it was reaching out to its true owner.

Snes Kvangar, Lord Rektar, was getting impatient. The undead was swarming over the wall now, forcing many Weisslanders back. The melee was frustrating and was ruining the sweet moment of revenge for the servant of Flint Dantares. Even now he could sense his master calling out to him. He could not hear his words over the battle though, but it mattered little. Not even the will of Flint Dantares mattered now when the face of Kain Dantares still mocked him Rektar from the shadows. He had prepared for this moment for decades.

------------------------------------------------------------

Ariakas fought side by side with many of the Weisslanders now, using his broad sword with skill. Countless undead he hacked down with the efficency of a farmer working on the field. This was more like working that fighting he was thinking, until that thought was suddenly thrown from his ignorant mind when to his left Bana had a spear pressed into his gut. Ariakas hacked at the spear pole with a cry before cutting apart the vicious corpse holding it. Bana slumped down against the wall, blood flowing from his torso.

Dozens more undead swarmed towards the mage lord. The bats continued to encircle the other mage lord, biting and scratching at him, as well as the other soldiers which approached. A dark shadow flew overhead, signalling another threat as yet unseen.

The skeletons made their move, attacking the mage lord and the soldiers directly in combat, even as the Nathremal continued to provide a distraction. Still, nobody could reach mage lord Tidurion.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathaniel stood. He took two steps forward and brought his sword down in a heavy two-handed stroke. Mere inches from the vampire's neck the sword was stopped. The blade which stopped it was that of Kor'Mor'Oka himself. He pushed upwards, forcing Nathaniel's sword away. The vampire rolled backwards and up to his feet. Fine, Nathaniel thought, we can finish this standing just as easily.

Without speaking both combatants leapt into a serious of attacks and blocks, at a blistering pace.

((Nobody could reach mage lord Tidurion? I have reached him twice? Also what's up with the orcs, I thought Drathmor turned them into undead*))

"Enough of this," Andros roared once more. With a mighty shockwave he cleared a large area around the wall. More Weisslander-soldiers came to the fray to help against the undead and bring Tidurion to safety.

Andros only nodded to himself as he rose from Tidurion. The wounds had temporarily closed and the pulse of Tidurion was beating once more.

"You're not dieing on my watch," Andros spoke with heavy breath.

((No, you've not reached him. You've still not reached him. I'm not going to let you just wipe out such large numbers of enemies with magic like that. It's bordering on demi-godmodding.))

((Who gives a damn Gorfy! Undead are rickety anyway, and besides, Andros may be deeply exhausted as a result of what he just did so it may not be as uncalled for as we expect. Row row fight the powah.))

((Lol: Gorfy))

A great eruption of power further along the wall caught Moarbrek's attention. The ethereal eyes of the Lich Lord searched for the source, and found it: a mage lord.

Moarbrek began advancing towards the man, easily batting aside any who opposed him. Some he cut down with his sword, others he simply threw from the walls.

When he was close enough, he lifted his blade, aiming the tip at the mage lord. "Come, mortal. Oblivion awaits."

-----

Mordain continued to grapple with the vampire until the two crashed into the roof of the barracks once more. The vampire hit it first, Mordain using his foe's body to cushion the impact.

The Mage of Shadows rose and looked down on his enemy with disgust. But, the vampire was far from beaten. Narak lunged up, slashing Mordain across his chest. The duel continued, both seeking the upper-hand. Mordian had lost the advantage of surprise, Narak now at terms with his demonic form.

((Fine. It just seems rather excessive to wipe out such numbers three times in a row without any kind of negative effect. Also, I'll allow Mordus and Chadden to call me Gorfy only because my disdain for them is slightly less than it is for other people.))

A shadow descended upon the few soldiers trying to secure the body of mage lord Tidurion and get him away from the wall. Without warning one man screamed as his face was slashed by wicked, sharp, talons. As blood spilled from the wounds, his eyes and cheeks, the three remaining soldiers prepared their weapons. One was kicked from the wall, crashing and breaking upon the stone street far below. The vampire Val'Mora'Kah landed on the wall properly and taking a fallen sword, launched an attack on the two surviving soldiers.

They fought back with the tenacity and skill of Weissland soldiers, but the vampire was too fast for them. She dodged their attacks, and gave them several shallow wounds just to prove how slow they were. One of them tried to tackle her to the ground to allow the other to finish her off, but the vampire was ready. As the man bashed into her, Val'Mora'Kah threw the sword at the second soldier, sending it through his neck. Still the first soldier was able to knock her down, but even as he fell as well, the vampire sunk her teeth in and drained him, before casting the body aside.

The vampire reached the body of the elven mage lord. A slight smile played across her lips as she started to drag the body up from the ground.

((I can't believe you're seriously saying something like that Gorfang, even if you let me do this. I have no powerful characters in use, while the rest of you guys mostly consider of very powerful characters. Undead are rickety creatures, and Andros is one of the most powerful mage lords there ever has been anyway. ))

((As Chadden said, I already let it drop. But you're missing my point Ariakas. It's not the power, I'm fine with him being one of the most powerful mage lords ever. It's more the fact that you used a great deal of power several times in a row without showing any kinds of strain or downsides. But as I've already said, I'd let it drop.))

((I'm so bored. Hahaha. But I'll post.))

There was a lull in the center of the wall, above the gate, where James and his veterans were fighting, and James turned to Darnil. "Talk to the captains, find out where we stand," he said.

"Aye, Milord," said Darnil, and he began moving amonst the ranks.

"Milord!" shouted a man, and James turned and looked out past the walls, and there, looming ahead and being pushed by massive trolls, were two siege towers, one coming on either side of the gate. In between the two siege towers was a massive was machine, a rolling battering ram covered in an awning.

"Fire!" shouted James. "We need fire! Someone get fire up here now! Fire arrows! Now! Move!"

"Aye, Milord!" shouted several men, and several began to run down the stairs inside the gatehouse down to the ground level and into the city, looking for oil, torches, and rags for the archers.

Meanwhile the siege towers were steadily rolling forward. Along other points on the wall they had already made contact and begun pouring their troops into the Weisslander soldiers. James fingered his sword with his mail glove as he waited for the men to get back with the rags and oil for his archers and for the siege towers to strike; it was now a race to see who could get there first.

Both combatants stood back after the flurry of attacks. Neither Nathaniel nor Kor'Mor'Oka had gained an advantage matching blades. The mage was not so quick to stop fighting though, and began to speak the words to a spell. Before he could finish the vampire reacted with startling speed, rushing at him and launching into a series of fast attacks with both his sword and his armoured gauntlet. Nathaniel had to give up on the spell just to fend off the undead fiend.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elsewhere on the wall General Bayel called out to his men "Push them back, don't give them an inch!" He proceeded to bash a skeleton with his shield, forcing it back off of the ladder it was on, pitching the undead creature down into the mass below. Still, it was clear that the old general was tiring, and for every undead taken off the walls, more were waiting to take their place. If Weissland was to stand any chance, the siege towers had to be dealt with quickly.

The general had ordered his archers to find any way of setting the towers alight, but it would take time.

A great jolt shook the timbers of the now flaming siege engine which Mordus stood in. He looked up through the scafolds only to behold the sound of failing timbers creaking. Pausing momentarily in judgement he made the decision to lunge headfirst out onto the swarming horde of undead.

The permeating stench of rotting flesh and humid decay enveloped his lungs as he gasped for air; tumbling past bone and putrid flesh which gave way to his forward momentum.

Quickly, before the creatures could register his living flesh amongst them he leapt with a rush of air and smoke onto yet another siege construct. Only this time, his landing was ill fated.

Mordus stabbed his sword once again into the foul hide covering of a siege tower, only to find he had struck much lower than anticipated. He panted with the combined effort of clinging to the hilt and having just propelled himself through the air.

A pitch black dullness overcame him in an instant, and before his senses could tell him what had happened he was sent hurtling high into the air. An undead monstrosity of lowly intellect had swung its barbed club at him, missing by a mere inch.

The impact crumpled the side of the engine and sent debris flying after Mordus as he rocketed through a tremendous arc towards the defending walls of Weissland.

He landed ungraciously, with a bodily 'crunch', not feet from James Castoden.
Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts for eternity.

James watched as Mordus crashed into the stone wall and rushed over to him. Sheathing his sword, he knelt down and turned the man over to see if he was conscious or not.
