Following the army led by Castoden, Thaendil and Aldron reaching Asulien, most of the mage lords had left the column quickly and made their way to the House of Mage Lord Solo Fryysen. He was the single mage lord station in Asulien, as well as around ten-fifteen mages of lower rank and prowess. Mage lord Solo Fryysen was human, a man with pale skin and long white hair running from his neck far down his back. His eyes were grey and strong, and he stood tall though his body seemed frail. His cheek was clean-shaven. He greeted the mage lords with a happy smile. He had of course heard news of the army's arrival, but since Amalrith had not made contact with him, focusing instead on mage lords in other parts of the Realm, he did not knew who of the other mage lords of the Mystic Tower who was still alive. "It's good to see you Mistrandar," the white-haired Fryysen said with a wide smile. His lips were thin and elegant, his face a sign of nobility and wisdom. "And you Amalrith, yes I have spoken with your sister. She is well. Andros, old friend, you look young, as do you Boralays." The four mage lords tried to show the same kind of spirit towards Solo Fryysen, but considering the last days of experience it was not easy. "How many more of you, mage lords, are there in the army?" Solo asked eventually. "Two," Mistrandar said with a sigh. "Mage lord Vedgar and mage lord Tidurion. There is a good number of mages however." "Only two?" the voice of Solo Fryysen was marked by surprise and sadness. "Many of us are lost," Borlays said with cold voice. "Borsun, Ciryon, Sirithian, Gremen, Sergares..." Andros laid a hand on the other mage lord's shoulder, but Boralays shrugged it off with irritation. "Gremen?" Solo sat down on a stone bench. He and the mage lord from Kynair had been great friends and companions. "And the Ice Queen?" There was no secret that there had been a special kind of relationship between Solo Fryysen and Tabitha Sergares as well. Solo shook his head, he had lost many friends through the years that was the price of his profession together with an old age. He had to shove his feelings away, at least until later on. "I heard about Lathaon Thaendil," he said. "Who leads the army?" The mage lords looked at each other. "Practically it is led by Mordain Thaendil," Amalrith said. "Which should be for the best," Mistrandar added. "There are too many difference between the Lord of the Mystic Tower and the family of Aldron, not mentioning Timus himself." "So Timus Aldron leads the army below Mordain? Mordain is prone to disappear and act on his own, that is in his nature," Solo said, deep in contemplation. He had fought beside Mordain in the past, remembering the civil war well. He had been a young man then, not much of a man in fact. "That is indeed in his nature," Mistrandar nodded. "But then there is also James Castoden. Vedgar is of the opinion that Mordain will put the young man, and hero in the White War, in charge." "Vedgar? He uses to be right in these things. Why is he not among you?" Solo asked. "He's wounded," Andros said. "Three encounters with three different Dark Disciples within a short week leaves a mark on you." Mistrandar saw the look in Solo's face and nodded. "Yes, we might loose him as well." |

Mage lord Tidurion entered the room towards the end of the conversation and said "We may lose Vedgar but we'll make the Dark Disciples pay in kind for his lose I'm sure. When the battle comes, it seems the enemy will throw everything it can at Asulien. There are few other places of strong resistance left." He looked around the room and added "Its good to see you Fryysen. I would have been here sooner but I felt an overwhelming need to see my family first." |

Jaunne was quick to respond once he heard of the visitors, and more so once he saw the commotion at the entrance. The two guards lay in charred and dismembered heaps, and the enormous doors had been forced open. It seemed odd that they would do this and not enter the sanctuary if they were desperate enough to kill, but the two witnesses had been clear; the visitors had committed the act and then followed the directions the two guards gave them, waiting until they sent a messenger. In any case, security would have to be tightened further once these murderers were brought to justice. The paladin's soldiers cleared the way forward quickly, but crowds still gathered where they could. |

Solo Fryysen rose from the stone bench and shook the hand of Tidurion as the other mage lord came towards him. "I hope you're family is well Tidurion," he said. "I have seen little to them in these last weeks. Stressful times, these are." He stroke his cheek in contemplation. "I tried to make contact with you earlier, but the winds of magic has been trickful and difficult to harness." "The army was blocked," Amalrith said quickly. "Magically blocked," Boralays added. "We should not waste more time on it, other than say it is apparently over now. We have made conctact with other mage lords. In Kynair, Amei, Daulinen and Nevir Wood." "I understand," Fryysen nodded. "What about Ordail? Opeth?" "Nothing," Amalrith shook his head. ((Sorry for going quickly forward Gorfang in the dialogue, but I just feel I have to do so to get such a conversation moving with so many characters. )) |

((That's fine. I understand.)) Tidurion responded "Is it possible the blocking is now focussed on Ordail instead of the column? If the enemy had reached Ordail then surely they also would have been able to catch us before we reached Asulien?" |

"It does not feel like a magical blocking," Amalrith said. He was by far the mage lord, among those still alive, who had the most experience in magical communication. "There is simple no one of our fellow mage lords or mages that I can locate in the city. So something must have happened anyway. Maybe Mordain or Shaellana knows something. Through the Seekers." |

Tidurion nodded "Have you been in contact with Kynair? Perhaps someone there could investigate." He thought for a moment and asked "Do we know what's happened to those Realmer reinforcements which were supposed to join us? I only ever saw a couple of them in the column and I've not seen them since." |

"Yes I have talked mage lords Tapun and Wromth in Kynair," Amalrith said. "They have heard no bad news from Ordail, but heard the Realmers were to embark on the coast south of the city to avoid possible problems. They have not passed through or close to Kynair though." "Sending someone from Kynair sounds like a sound solution," Boralays said. "Though going through the Seeker-organization might be more quick." ((Do you refer to what me and Gorfang is posting about Jimmy? The mage lords have a little meeting in the house of Solo Fryysen, who is the mage lord in Asulien, and the mages of Asulien. I figured there should be only one considering there's not that much friendship between the Mystic Tower and the Order of Light. If you refer to something else? Like what is going on in general, well the army has just arrived.)) |

Tidurion inclined his head to one side thoughtfully, his hair falling in strands across his shoulder. After a few seconds he said "Yes, the Seekers are probably able to respond to such a mission quicker. We'll have to bring it up with Lord Mordain, although I'm not sure where he is at the moment, probably dealing with getting the column housed I suppose." |

((I don't know what's Jonno's up to)) "I will speak with Mordain," Mistrandar said quickly. "I have something else I would like to ask him as well." "Good," Solo nodded to the younger mage lord. "Now, about the refugees. Asulien will without doubt be filled with those you have brought here, but still there should have been more." "The people here are mostly from Adae, Ataya, Torcein and surrounding villages and towns as well as Fargon and the towns of Sirth. The people of Ledek, Crint, Nevir and surrounding lands were sent westward towards Vilyn Wood and Nairio," Andros explained. ((Finally I got an easy opportunity to say that ))

((Well done Ariakas, at least its been said now. ))Tidurion nodded "Yes, although we will not be able to learn of their progress until they arrive by contacting whatever mages are there. I for one feel considerably better that the refugees have been split up. It is my thought that in his haste to destroy the army Drathmor will focus all his forces on us and the Dwarves. At least this way more refugees have a chance of survival. We can protect the ones with us easier now than when they were so many, and the others have distance on their sides." He smoothed the front of his robes and said "Is there anything else we need to discuss?" |

Mistrandar frowned at Tidurion. The sudden change in Tidurion's nature these last days should have helped improve the relationship between him and Mistrandar. But it did not. In fact it helped the irritation that the young mage lord had for the the older one grow even more. He did not say anything though. Boralays looked around in the room. Solo Fryysen seemed deep in thought. "It appears that there is not. We should prepare ourself though, each in their own way, though we should also all be ready to assist the army and their leaders in any problems that might occure with the defenses or the citizens. Amalrith, since you have already been in contact with Mage Lord Paulin I think you should continue to report to Mordain regularly, as well as to the rest of us. We need to know what is going on in Daulinen now that the enemy is so close." The elven mage lord nodded but did not say anything. "There is one last thing," Andros said. "Nathaniel Drakkon and his imprisonment." Boralays sighed. He had hoped that no one would bring that up. |

"It is a waste of good men who would fight for Weissland," Amalrith said with anger. "The magical blocking is gone and there is still no evidence pointing out that Nathaniel Drakkon is a traitor." |

Tidurion said "Yes the magical blocking is gone. I'd also point out that Lord Mordus began to interrogate Drakkon, and placed magic draining shackles on him. The fact that the magical blocking is gone does not clear Drakkon, he's still wearing those shackles as far as we know. Lord Mordain has mentioned to you, Amalrith, that Drakkon is hiding some secret and in the present situation, cannot release him until he is sure it is not a threat to Weissland. You keep going on about this, but you can't prove his innocence, and we have lost enough people who turned on Weissland." The elf sighed "We cannot take anything for granted, we cannot simply trust people who show themselves to have shadowy motives which they will not make clear to the leadership. Do you want to see more people end up like Ithrain? Drakkon disappeared for seven years and nobody knew where he was or what he was up to, then he just reappears now, in the White Realm of all places, right at the end of the White War and just before all of this began. That's some spectacular timing don't you think?" |

"We have dozens of individuals like this in our ranks," Amalrith said. "With secrets. With dark pasts. With an ability to mysteriously appear at spectacular timing. And we all know it. Mordain Thaendil is making a mistake. It may be that Nathaniel is hiding something. But whatever it is, Nathaniel is not a traitor and he fights on our side. Mordain Thaendil is making a mistake." Mistrandar raised his hand. "Amalrith. Please, I have to say I agree with you but still. At the moment it is not in our hands. It is in the hands of Mordain. Not ours." |

Mordain moved through the city, heading straight towards a group of guards. With two Seekers following after him, he addressed them. "I need to speak with whoever has been put in command in Haidas's absence." said the Mage of Shadows firmly. ((Lathaon, if you wouldn't mind?)) ----- Still, Brae said nothing. He had no business with this dwarf as far as he was concerned. |

"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |
