((Jonno, you still have not posted in the cell where Fizban is being kept. Fryysen is waiting for Medran)) Cloudwulfe and Bana moved slowly down another one of the long halls. This one was longer than the others, and they had moved further underground. Bana thought he could hear his own heartbeat. He was not worried that he would die. But the situation frightened him. He could almost only rely on Cloudwulfe now, whom he personally believed was mad. And he still did not believe that Ariakas could truly be here. "He is close," Cloudwulfe murmured, as if he was half asleep. He stumbled across the floor and Bana grabbed him and helped him stand properly. The eyes of Cloudwulfe was very pale, Bana noticed. The man was breathing quickly and unnatural. "Are you alright?" Bana asked. "He is close," Cloudwulf said. "We must hurry. Death moves in Asulien. It is back now." |

The courtroom was silent, and James shifted his weight in his seat. He was uncomfortable sitting up above everyone else, looking down as they looked up. True, there was a panel of judges and the accused that were also being looked at, but James felt as if all eyes were on him, drilling through him. He turned and looked at Mordain, whose eyes were closed, in contemplation or rest James could not tell. "Lord Mordain?" asked James. |

"An altar?" Fryysen whispered in surprise. "What altar? To which god?" Fizban Dantares, on the bed, did not notice the conversation between Medran and Solo Fryysen. He merely shrugged and responded to Vedgar. "I am alright." "You are absolutly certain of this?" Vedgar asked. "I will use magic to try and heal your memory but you I will have to draw from your own strength to do this. You are absolutly certain you are rested and strong?" "Yes," Fizban nodded. Eager to go on. Unknown to him, as well as unknown to Solo Fryysen and Medran, Nilen Vedgar was using magic to convince Fizban that he did not need to fear Vedgar. It was an easy task thanks to the broken memory of Fizban Dantares. |

Fryysen took hold of the shoulder of the man, looked once at Vedgar who slowly laid his hands on the hairless skull of Fizban and then forcefully dragged Medran out of the room. He closed the door behind them. "How long have you served in the Sanctuary?" Fryysen asked with a quick voice. |

"Have something like this ever happened before?" A man walked down the hallway. It was a servant, and Fryysen quickly ordered him to find the man named Kremlin. |

Mordain's eyes snapped open and bore down on Drakkon. "The trial of Nathanniel Drakkon can now begin." said Mordain. The doors were closed. A number of guards lined the room, with Seekers positioned here and there too. "Nathanniel Drakkon. You stand accused of working in service of the Dark Lord to block magical communication between the Weissland column and the rest of Weissland. Do you accept this charge?" |

"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

So it begins finally, Nathaniel thought. Without moving or looking up from the point on the floor he had chosen, Nathaniel said "I do not." |

Loter Arthious sat forward in his chair and listened intently to the words of Mordain. He stroke his cheek with grim expression. He had never attended a court of this sort and had little idea of how this would go on. But he was following with interest. He looked to his left. There were other offisers and captains there, but no mages expect for Mistrandar Alicant. The mage lord had his back to his chair and had his eyes closed as if sleeping. Loter frowned before returning his attention to the judges and Nathaniel. ------------------------------------- Fryysen nodded. "So what do you make out of this then? A sign from one of the gods?" ------------------------------------- As Vedgar laid his hands on the head of Fizban Dantares he closed his eyes and began to whisper the magical incantations. He could feel his own magic reaching out towards the mind of Fizban. He expected to find it a open, blank space due to his lack of memory but instead it was colorful and chaotic. There was a shroud of something that he to find, a wall which he needed to penetrate. The chaos in the mind of Fizban had little to do with his lack of memory, but rather his mind that was panicking due to supressed fear and confusion. Vedgar heightened his own voice. He could sense Fizban was unconscious now, and so Vedgar could pull from the man's strength unhindered. Vedgar was not weak, but he had certainly felt his magical strength diminished since the battle of Ataya and later on at the battle close to Ledek. |

James leaned forward in his chair and looked intently at Drakkon, waiting for the man to look up, to get a look at the man's eyes. |

Nathaniel raised his head slightly and inclined it to look almost directly at James Castoden. Still his eyes and most of his face was concealed by the hood of his black robe. The runic pattern along the hem of his hood caught the light as he turned slightly. He remained silent though, waiting for Mordain to continue. This was as much a test for the judges as it was a trial for Nathaniel Drakkon. |

James saw Drakkon lift his head and turn it a bit, and though he could not quite see the man's eyes, James knew he was looking right at him. |

"You were found, by Shaellana, to be holding a secret deep within you. One that you will not share. One that you say concerns Weissland, that we here, the leaders of this land, are not privy to. Without revealing this secret, you will be found guilty because I will not be able to mark you innoncent." Mordain paused. "Do you understand?" |

"I would like security around this man raised," Fryysen explained. "He may be dangerous, or others may want to endanger him." --------------------------------------------------------------- Vedgar frowned as he searched along the shroud that covered the memory of Fizban Dantares. There was no weak point to attack, no place he could break through. He was beginning to sweat due to heavy concentration. "What is your name?" "Fizban Dantares," the man responded, half-dazed. "Where do you come from?`" "I don't know." "Who do you serve?" "I don't know." "Who do you love?" "I don't know." There was no trace of memory. Only his name floating alone in the darkness. |
