Bayel nodded and replied "Thank you Lord Mordain. I have nothing left to ask or bring up, I will let others speak if they have anything on their minds." The old general sat back in his seat, looking around the room to see if anyone else would speak. He noticed that Lord Arthious had left before any others, wondering why he would not stay until the end of the meeting. |

"Any other matters to be raised?" asked Mordain, again addressing the room. |

"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. "Let's kill the dark elves and figure out what to do later." There were three of them left, and they all had their swords ready. They were at an advantage in that they could not feel the heat of the fire on their backs, but they were outnumbered two to one. They were taking their time, knowing that their enemies would soon be forced to act due to the fire behind them. --- Kalon stopped a few metres from the staircase upwards. "Now, both of you will be silent or you - and your brother too, Ithrain - will face the consequences. Not a word." They were cloaked again by magic. There were more guards up there, too many of them to dispose of them as they moved through, but still it was easy to sneak past. Ithrain, it seemed, had returned to silently wondering why he was still alive, and whether there was any point in existing at all, while Arhaina was shivering both in cold and in fear of what was to come. --- Medran spoke to one of the guards. "Do you know where the nearest mage is?" "Actually, there's a meeting going on in the Eastern Spire - several mage lords are there." "Thank you," he replied and headed over in that direction. |

The Legion soldiers were quick to move, driving forward with their weapons held to strike. Brae moved forward, but staying behind the Legion soldiers. He kept his weapons held, ready to act. |

A crossbow took down one of the legion soldiers but the other cut down a dark elf. Narandar and Renaulin moved around to one side to come at the remaining two from a different angle. Elandir stood beside Brae. ---- "I heard that more refugees are currently being sent across from Lathor," Jaunne said. "Where are we sending them?" |

Mordain shook his head. "I was not aware of that. What are your suggestions?" ----- The remaining Legion soldier swept his weapon low, forcing the dark elves to move further back, before he brought it up into a defensive position. |

"They are being sent to Dacorn, but I doubt that will be safe for long. The Defiled Kingdom's army may well choose to destroy all of Cirulienalysai before it comes to Asulien. Communication has not been good so far; they seem to be panicked and in chaos. I was able to learn that Anubien was under attack, and that the civilians were being evacuated oversees, but beyond that I know little." |

"Then we shall have to leave it at that. Now, I have asked twice if there is anything else any of you would like to address, but now it would seem everyone has said their piece. So, this meeting is now over. We need to focus on the defence now, so see to it and do what you can." With that, Mordain walked from the room, Shaellana moving after him. |

As the meeting ended General Bayel stood up slowly and walked out of the room. He began heading back to oversee his men, but would make sure he was ready for the next step. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mage lord Tidurion sighed and wiped sweat from his brow with the sleeve of his green robe. He was standing in a street, an oddly empty street, and he was beginning to lose hope. He could not count the number of houses and buildings and areas he had been to, searching for one small refugee amongst so many. But he would not give up, he would continue to search as much as could be allowed until the battle approached. He had spoken to as many refugees as he could, but there were people everywhere, many seperated from friends and family themselves. They were distraught, and the situation was very confused. He had given a description, but it had not helped yet. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel sat alone in the cell. He could feel it, the time was close. Those gut feelings kicking in again. The trial, perhaps his greatest trial. He did not have any thoughts of trying to change his course, no lingering thoughts of what might have been had he made a different decision at some earlier point in his life. This was the path which he was set upon, the forsaken path. |

Once they were away from the meeting, Shaellana turned to Mordain. "What of Drakkon's trail?" she asked. "I want that to be taken care of as soon as possible. If Drakkon is loyal, then he would be a good soldier to have in the battle against the Dark lord's army." replied Mordain. "Inform all the necessary people that the trial of Nathanniel Drakkon will take place today." |

Medran crossed paths with Mordain on the stairs. He bowed his head. "Mage Thaendil, are you or any other mages free for a while? There is a man who called himself Fizban Dantares, who needs some magical aid." |

((The clock is winding down)) Ranorist and Justin had left the Sanctuary. The had not managed to convince the guards to let them through, and it was simply too risky to use violence as well. Both the Mjolnir Warriors simply hoped that Bana, with the help of Cloudwulf, would find Ariakas on his own. "One of us should have gone with Cloudwulfe," Justin said in frustration as they entered an inn further ahead in one of the streets which led up to the Sanctuary. "Don't misjudge him," Ranorist responded as they sat down at a table. "Bana is a good man. That much he has proven." --------------------------------------------------------- Loter Arthious stood a top one of the tall towers overlooking the fields ahead of Asulien, letting his eyes scan the road leading south. Soon all this will be over, he thought to himself. One way or another, this will end here. His strong and fair eyes, part of his elven heritage, spotted something in the sky far, far to the south. Could that be smoke? Was it likely that the undead had already reached Fargon? He turned his head to the left, seeing a familiar, and nodded with respect. Captain Brin, a resident of Asulien, was walking along the battlements. "Captain," Loter said with an odd smile. "It's been a long time." "I have news for you, Arthious," Brin said, not wasting time on formalities. -------------------------------------------------------------- Mistrandar Alicant finally found the man he was looking for. Morbius Stemper sat on a keg, watching the soldiers of Weissland preparing the city for war. Morbius had apperently changed his Realmer clothing, a wise action to do, considering the circumstance nowadays. As Mistrandar walked up to Morbius he noticed something in the Realmer's eyes. There was a gleam on professional interest there, as the man watched the soldiers of Weissland. "Morbius Stemper?" Mistrandar asked in due politness. "That would be me," Morbius responded as he turned and looked at the mage lord. "The Lord Mordain as well as the Lords of the City of Asulien and the Generals of Weissland would like your assistance in the coming battle." Morbius frowned for a short period, apperantly wondering if he should bother to haggle at a price for his service but change his mind. "I think it would only be wise of me to offer any help I can offer considering the dark times ahead of us." The engineer from the White Realm jumped down from the keg and followed Mistrandar through the city towards the walls and the eastern spire. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mage lord Vedgar together with the young Officer Kvangar was right behind Mordain Thaendil and Shaellana when Medran approahced. Vedgar looked up in surprise as the name Fizban Dantaras was mentioned, though Kvangar took little notice. |

((What do you mean by that?
))Kalon and the other three escaped the sanctuary, cutting down the two replacement guards as they pushed open the huge doors. They headed quietly towards the wall, keeping to the shadows, leaving the two bodies as they lay, and the doors once again wide open. --- The two dark elves were slain without any further casualties. However, oxygen was quickly draining from the room and being replaced by smoke. "Get the books away from the fire," Elandir said to nobody in particular. "I'll see if I can extinguish it or at least contain it." He retrieved Lathaon's old spellbook once again and started flicking through it while Narandar and Renaulin started carrying the books to the other side of the room. |

((Would my character know anything of Fizban, or the Dantares line?)) Seekers had been dispatched to Lord Aldron, Lord Castoden and Jaunne. As well as Shaellana, they would accompany Mordain at the trial of Nathanniel Drakkon. However, the final decision, and thus the man's fate, was in Mordain's hands. "I am not, no." replied Mordain. He gestured towards the open door behind him. "But many mages remain still within the spire. Speak with them." ----- Brae did as he had been commanded; with the aid of the Legion men, he moved the bookcases away from the flames. Time was short. ----- Shaellana had left her Lord and descended the stronghold to the cell where Drakkon was held. She had gone there alone. The guard opened the door to the cell for her. She stepped through, the guard again closing the door behind her. "Drakkon; you are to have your trial today, very shortly I might add." |
