"The dwarves are likely beyond our reach by now. The undead will have reached their realm by now, or will at least be doing so very soon." added Mordain. ----- Korth smirked as he parried another blow. "Outmatched? You fool. You rely so greatly upon your precious sword, but what would you be without it?" The druid released a beastial roar that summoned a shockwave of power. The magic erupted from Korth, knocking Kalon back. "Without it, without your honourless weapon, you would be nothing!" |
|
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

"Then this is our final number in men. Unless you see fit to conscript the populace of Asulien, which I doubt would be wise. As do I to the digging of pits ahead of the outer wall." Mordus interjected. "I think the undead will mearely fill the traps with corpses and walk over them, leaving them a wasted endevour." |

"It wasn't my sword which killed off your kind, druid, it was my mind," Kalon said, easily regaining his balance. "The sword is merely a slave to the mind, as will be your soul." The dark elf advanced again, attacking with small but rapid strikes and using the shield to block and push Korth back. --- Elandir spotted three men running along the tunnels, searching for something it seemed. One of them looked a bit like Brae, but it was difficult to tell from where they were. Then as they rounded a corner, there was an explosion and the ceiling collapsed behind them. A cloud of dust billowed out from the rubble, but the dark elf mage was still visible as a black silhouette behind it. "After him!" |

Loter shrugged, "I believe pits would buy us time. And if we have people to spare we should use whatever option available to buy us time." "The dwarves have not been attacked yet," Amalrith informed. "The people of Yorein has retreated to Dunana, and the other dwarfholds are marching to war. They do not retreat to the main hold of Daurco, but instead marches to the border. The close location of Daulinen may serve us well since Drathmor is forced to split his forces." ------------------------------------------------------------ Fizban Dantares was silent for a long time before speaking again. "Am I allowed to leave whenever I want to?" he asked Medran. ------------------------------------------------------- Bana looked around in the huge sanctuary. The guards outside seemed to have their attentions towars Justin and Ranorist coming towards them and the main door. There was a few priests further down in the long main hall, but they had not noticed Bana or Cloudwulfe yet. "Quickly," he said, pulling Cloudwulfe off to the right and into the shadows of the Sanctuary. From there they moved along the wall until they found a sidedoor, which the two men entered. They stood in a long, dimlitted corridor of rough stone. The floor was dusty. "Where do we look?" Cloudwulfe asked. "Further in," Bana said as he took the lead down the corridor, in the search for Ariakas. |

General Bayel listened to both elves and said "Lord Arthious has the right idea. We cannot defeat all of the undead, their numbers are too large by far. The point is to do everything in our power to slow them down and limit the numbers which can reach the walls. Every undead creature that fills in a pit or a pit with spikes in, or is used to extinguish fires, is one which will not reach the walls to kill our soldiers." ((Amalrith is an elf right?)) |

((Yes. Amalrith is an elf. Though I think Loter Arthious is only half-elf, though maybe that is just the matter of perspective to some people. Maybe Bayel, and other people of Weissland, consider Loter an elf)) |

Medran thought for a moment, then asked "Where would you go? Have you a home in Asulien that you remember?" |

"No," he shook his head. "But this fellow... Kain Dantares? Is he still alive? Could you tell me something about him which could help me figure out more?" |

"Well, I'm not actually sure what happened to him. He was in his twenties when I met him, and that was almost seventy years ago. Not many humans survive that long, not Weisslanders at least. Perhaps he was your grandfather," Medran suggested. "Anyway, he and a couple of others - Rand Castoden and the elf, Tarain Pathfinder - rescued Ainerar Haidas after he was replaced by an impostor who was abusing his power. Now Tarain would know more of course, but he was imprisoned before the White War for trying to spy on the council." |

"Sounds like something I should have remember," Fizban said, licking his lips. "But then again I can't remember anything." The mind of Fizban Dantares flared. He tried to keep the conversation with Medran going, because he knew the alternative was that he would begin to panic. This complete strange place, these unknown people, made him all too uneasy. He wanted to get out, out in fresh air, but most of all he wanted to fill the blackness in his head with something. |

"Would you like to speak to Tarain? I could take you to his cell..." Medran said. "You couldn't speak to him in private of course, not with that sort of prisoner, but it might be the only option you have if you want to learn more about who you are." |

"But if he was a spy, could he not then be dangerous?" Fizban asked with a slight tone of fear in his voice. |

Fizban slowly rose from his bed. "If he is the only link, then I would like that. Is there possible someone else who could help me remember?" As he stood up, Fizban felt weakness in his limbs. He used his hand to lean against the desk. He felt a slight dizzyness through his temple. |

"Are you alright?" Medran asked as Fizban used the desk to support himself. "Perhaps a mage might be able to help you remember. I'm not certain it can be done, but there's a chance that that might be possible." |

"Anything," Fizban said through gritted teeth, his head was hurting. "Will be helpful. Thank you." Slowly he returned to the bed, breathing heavily. He touched his hairless head and wondered if had always been like this, or if something had caused his hair to vanish. |

"You don't look well. Just ask the healers here if there's anything you need, and I'll go and find a mage for you. Don't worry, it won't be long." Medran left the room then. |

Outside the sanctuary: "Me and my brother here," Ranorist spoke and gestured towards Justin as they reached the guards at the sanctuary, "Would like to be allowed entrance to the Sanctuary so we can pray to the gods. Will you grant us passage, good man?" --------------------------------- Inside the Sanctuary: Fizban nodded to Medran as the man left, happy that the man seemingly wanted to help him. He waved the healers, as well as that fourth fellow, away, telling them he was in no need for anything except water, bread and rest. He lay back in the bed, looking up into the ceiling. He just needed to relax, he told himself. Just needed to take his time so he could remember who he was an why he was here. |

"Now look what you've done!" the other guard hissed under his breath. "This is surely not the only place where men can pray," the guard who had let Bana and Cloudwolfe (sp?) in said. |

"Please," Justin said. "We have come all the way from Kynair to pray for our farm." |
