As they made their way through the city, they came upon the Mayor's house. It had been defiled, and some of the soldiers went to search it, as they had all the major buildings as they advanced. Upon coming back out, however, one of the soldiers said, "My Liege, I believe we've found it." James nodded and followed the soldier inside the large house. The building inside definitely showed signs of being used as a command post for the leaders of the undead and Orc force here, but one thing intrigued James the most: sitting on a long, wide dining table were stacks of tomes and books. Aldron had told him that the mages were missing books from the Mystic Tower, that it had been looted. Could these books be some of those that were missing? "Bind these books in cloth and take them with us," ordered James. "We cannot afford to leave these behind." "Aye, Milord," said some of the soldiers, and they set about using curtains and bedsheets to bind the books together and set several men to carry them. With the command post stripped of the books and seeing nothing else that could aid their enemy, James said, "Now we fight to free this island from these Necromancers. Prepare for battle." Then, walking out of the house, James began to lead his men towards the sounds of fighting. |

Daemmion blocked and weaved around his enemy's attacks. The simple soldiers of Weissland were no match for a Necromancer Lord. Upon the battlefield, the Weissland forces were taking heavier casualties what with the added numbers of undead that had risen. |

As Boralays and his men hacked through the orcs it was clear the fighting here was in hand. The orcs had been on the back foot as soon as they had attacked, and despite reinforcements they were simply overwhelmed. He had seen the arrival of the necromancer, and moved in that direction, blasting several more orcs with his staff as he went. The soldiers formed up and drove the orcs back. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mistrandar finally finished his spell. A strong wind of white magic swept across the battle before him, covering much of the main front. As the wind touched undead, it scoured them, many of them disintigrating into dust and being swept away. As the wind died down a large amount of the undead were obliterated, leaving the orcs and those undead lucky enough to have avoided the wind behind. The elven mage lord was finished now, his magic used up in a powerful display, and the barriers he had personally raised around the Weissland soldiers gone. Now the only magic left with the main force led by Lord Aldron, was that of the three mages fighting amongst them. |

The orcs were staggered by the sudden disappearance of nearly all the undead, which now reduced their number by over half. Many were cut down in the next few moments as they stilled battled with their shock. The remaining orcs backed off and looked from one another. In the next instant, one of the captains called out, "Retreat!" and that was quickly seconded by the other captains. The orcs broke and ran, fleeing away from the battle. Those in the city remained but the conflict on the the battlefield was finished. ----- Daemmion felled another soldier, indeed the last of those near him. He looked at the approaching Mage Lord. "So here the first of Weissland's finest stand." |

Aldron and his men pressed the attack, flowing into the city to try to cut down the Orcs. Meanwhile, James and his men were drawing near to where Boralays and his men were engaged in heavy combat with the Orcs and Undead. Seeing the rear of the battle and the backs of their enemies, James knew that here they would make the difference. Raising his sword, James shouted, "For Weissland!" and ran forward. His men ran behind him, the Royal Guard at the forefront, and they smashed into the unsuspecting Orcs and Undead. |

Boralays saw the inspiring sight of the King of Weissland charging into the back of the enemy alongside the Royal Guard. He smiled at the necromancer and slashed the throat of an orc in his way casually as he moved forward. Boralays raised his sword in front of him as if to signal a duel and said "Let's forget the talking and get on with it." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mistrandar followed the rest of the main force into the city, not wanting to be left behind in his weakened state. |

"So be it." replied Daemmion. With a violent jerk, he tore his sword in a downward-arc through the air. A huge eruption of foul magic tore through the earth towards the Mage Lord, pulling the life from the very ground as it passed. |

James cut through the Orcs and undead with ease, and his men did likewise around him, fueled by the sight of their dead comrades and the fury of their King. With enemies on all sides, the living forces of the Necromancer began to panic. Some tried to flee, only to be cut down, while others made suicidal, foolish attacks devoid of both skill and tactics. It had begun to become a slaughterhouse for the Orcs and Undead, but James saw, in the middle, that the Necromancer and Lord Boralays were facing off. "Order the men to stay away from those two," said James. "I do not want to disrupt our mage or be caught in any collateral damage." |

Boralays held out his staff and rapidly spoke the words to a spell. Forming a barrier he managed to stop the enemy's spell cold in it's tracks. Rather than allow the necromancer more time Boralays charged forward roaring "For Weissland!" He slashed at the necromancer, following up with a swing of his staff, which crackled with energy. |

Daemmion side-stepped, narrowly avoiding the blade. He managed to bring his own staff up to block the mage's. Dark green magic crackled from his upon impact, just as the mage's flashed with a deep blue. The two staffs pushed against each other as each sorcerer fought for the upper-hand. Then, Daemmion spoke the words to a spell. Thick energy coiled down his blade and then shot into his foe's sword arm. The flesh wroted away with moments, gripped by powerful decay. His mussle tisue was next; the spell drove into it, slowly beginning to erode the strength of the man's arm. The spell was a powerful curse. Whilst all the damage would be undone when the curse was dispelled, whilst it had a hold it would continue to decay the man's arm, and indeed spread to the rest of his body if given enough time. Should it reach his heart, he would surely die. |

Aldron's forces had breached one of the gates that the Orcs had not been able to fully close, and now fell upon their enemies, battering their way through the breach with their shield wall and engaging the army of orcs that waited within the walls. However, morale counted for much, and the fighting spirit was upon the men of Weissland as they fell upon the Orcs with a vengeance. |

Drawing upon what little strength they had left, the acolytes animated as many undead as they could. No more than a thousand rose, and only a handful were within the walls. The bodies had yet to suffer from riggermortis (no idea how to spell that I'm afraid) and moved at a good pace, though it was doubtful that even with their speed they would be of much help. |

Boralays grimaced and bit his lip to avoid crying out in pain. His sword arm wavered, unable to properly heft his blade to continue fighting. The words of a spell came out of his mouth like a snarl, the effort causing spittle to land on his beard. Even as he felt the magic driving into his arm and eroding skin, sinew and muscle, he completed a counter spell. He had been rushed, but Boralays was a canny mage, and managed to throw off the affliction. More than that, the counter spell hurled it back at the caster, albeit in a much weakened form. Boralays looked at his arm and tried to flex it. The pain was strong, but he could fight on. Still, he started to lead with his staff instead of his sword. |

As the spell stuck Daemmion, he recoiled violently as he was forced to grapple with the magic. The mage took this opportunity and struck Daemmion with his staff, causing the necromancer to stumble backwards. Finally, he dispelled the magic and moved back into combat with his foe. |

Boralays watched his enemy, and swung with a low blow of his sword when he judged the time was right. The thrill of battle again, it seemed to sing in Jarroth's blood. |

Daemmion moved back to avoid the blade, but it's tip still struck his hip. He gritted his teeth as a thin wound appeared. He took a few cautious steps backwards and then vanished, his form turning to dust, only to reappear behind the mage. Quickly, he blasted the man with a bolt of green lightning. Though the man had magical defences that took the brunt of the attack, he was still pushed forward quite some distance. |

As the mages continued their duel, James and his men continued enveloping the Orcs. As they fought, one Orc, a bit larger and uglier than the rest, put eyes on James and snarled before running at him. James waited for the Orc to strike, and parried the first blow. He then brought his sword up, but the Orc moved quickly and was able to block; perhaps this Orc was some sort of leader, thought James. As the Royal Guard and men continued to finish off the enemy force, James slipped into a defensive mode, waiting for his opponent to attack first. |

Grattig watched the fancy-armoured Weisslander drop back into a defensive stance. He roared and brought his large axe down upon the man's blade with tremendous force. Though the man's defences held, Grattig was quick to launch another attack in the same manner. Slowly, he was pushing the man back under the brunt of his assault. |

((Oh, I was just gonna RP with myself to give me something to do while you guys were fighting, but cheers, this is better Thanks.))While James was able to parry the strikes, the strength of them was making it hard to sufficiently counterattack. However, attacking with strength had its own disadvantages. As he parried, James watched the movements of the Orc: his footing, his body movement as he struck. Then, as the Orc swung his axe down, James brought his sword in an almost parallel motion, hitting the axe from the side ever so lightly while moving away from the weapon. This sent the axe down into the ground, and James brought his sword across as he moved, slicing the Orc across its stomach. |
