"Did Justin or Bana know where Ariakas was?" Ranorist asked. "They have not travelled there." |

"Justin knows; I told him some time ago. As for Bana, and I am assume he was your other companion, I have not spoken to him." replied Mordain. His eyes continued to be drawn to Cloudwulfe, however. "But, enough of this; there is a much more pressing matter at hand. Why does he carry the taint of necromancy?" demanded Mordain, pointing at Cloudwulfe. |
|
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

Cloudwulfe staggered away from Mordain with a fearful look. "I don't know..." Ranorist said, hesitating. "And I'm telling you if I did I most likely would not have brought him with me like this. What do you mean with carrying the taint, because this I had no knowledge of." |

Mordain turned so he was facing directly towards Cloudwulfe. "He is surrounded by the mark of that foul magic. And in Weissland, necromancy is forbidden." |

"So according to your laws you have to throw him in custody?" Ranorist asked. "Or worse.. kill him?" Cloudwulfe craddled down in front of Mordain and Ranorist, in a kneeling position. His eyes were huge as they watched Mordain. |

"Death is only the case when the accused is guilty of preforming necromancy. Your companion carries only the taint; there is no evidence of practition. But, necromancy has touched him, and until we can discern the nature of his taint then I must take him into custody." |

Cloudwulfe exhaled heavily and took a step back. "Mordain," Ranorist began, there was maybe a bit of desperation in his voice. "You simply can't do that." |

Mordain took a few steps towards Cloudwulfe as he spoke. "One of my own is currently in interrogation on nothing more than suspiscion. These are not trusting times, Realmer. If you think I will make an exception for Cloudwulfe then you are mistaken." |

Ranorist stepped in front of Mordain, blocking his access to Cloudwulfe. "Then I hope for you'rs, and Weissland's, case that you are not a person who easily suspects others Mordain. I can not let you have him and I ask you to ignored whatever state he's in, whatever trait marks him. If you consider him a threat we will instead withdraw from the army and make our own way." |

"No; I will not allow him to walk around this land. The law is final. Cloudwulfe must be taken into Weissland custody. No harm will come to him, and you will be allowed to see him, but that is all." Mordain stopped and looked at Ranorist. "You are one man against a Weissland army. Do not break our laws and you will not be harmed." |

Mordain's patience was growing thin. "In the past, we were not facing anhiliation at the hands of the Dark Lord! I will do what I must to protect Weissland." |

"You do not face anhilation because of him," Ranorist cried out and gestured at Cloudwulfe. "He can't be put in custody or held up. I must bring him with Ariakas." Cloudwulfe spoke now, with a low voice. "Yes, yes. You must bring me to Ariakas." |

Mordain cracked the butt of his staff off the ground. Sparks of Black magic flew from his staff and a thunderous 'crack' sound filled the area. "Enough!" He gestured towards the column. Four of the Legion soldiers began approaching them. "If he is innocent, then he has nothing to fear. But if you leave this column, then I guarantee you that you will draw the attention of beings far worse than me. Necromancers are far more adept at sensing necromancy than I am." |

"I have given an oath Mordain," Ranorist took a step back and laid his hands on the shafts of his axe and hammer. With a suprising action, Cloudwulfe suddenly stood up and stood proudly behind Ranorist. "We are leaving now Mordain," Ranorist said. "Do not try to stop us. You have other foes to fight." ------------------------------------------------------------------ Justin and Bana both looked towards where the thunderous crack had come from. Four Legion soldiers had already moved towards the source of the sound. "What is going on?" Justin asked, not looking at her, but aiming his question at Shaellana. |

Mordain made no gestures to halt the Legion soldiers. They continued to advance. "You would dare to raise your weapons to me? You would risk so much to keep this creature out of our jail cells?" asked the mage, his voice cold and venomous. ----- Shaellana said nothing. Her milky eyes were fixed on Mordain and the Realmers. |

"I have not pulled my weapons yet, Mordain," Ranorist said still holding his hands on his weapons however. "I am only going to defend myself." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin stepped forward so he could see Ranorist and Mordain from the others. There was little doubt at what was happening considering the way Ranorist stood and the Legion soldiers who moved against them. Quickly, he took the reins of his horse and called out to Bana. Then with a swift motion he mounted up and nodded to the Weisslanders. "Thanks for an interesting party, my dear fellows. I think we Realmers are leaving you now however." |

Shaellana turned instantly towards him, waving with her hand and speaking a few words. A ring of swift fire surrounded them, trapping Bana, Justin and Shaellana within it. The Legion soldiers moved around, positioning themselves around the fire. "Not yet, Realmer." she said coldly. ----- The Legion soldiers stood around Cloudwulfe, holding their weapons ready to strike if need be. "A Weisslander in the Realm now would not be given freedom from your laws. Why would you think that I will grant you freedom from ours?" asked Mordain. |

Bana looked in surprise at the fire which appeared around them. He pulled his sword and looked at Shaellana. Justin turned his horse slowly around towards the High Seeker. "It seems we were not as welcome as I thought I would be." Several villagers of Weissland stood a few paces away from the commotion. They looked terrified at the confrontation between Shaellana and the two Realmers. The soldiers of Weissland moved them on, but many stayed. Among them were Maren, her eyes glued to Bana on the other side of the flames. ------------------------------------------------------------- "I never really did," Ranorist said in regret. "You have never been farsighted beyond your own groundrules." Cloudwulfe looked at each of the Legion soldiers who stood behind him. "Step away," he calmly spoke to them. |

Shaellana calmly drew her short swords. She held them crossed before her waist. "If you want to be welcome, then you will respect the laws by which our nation is governed." replied the High Seeker. ----- "Some of our grounds rules are more needed now than ever." He looked down at Ranorist's hands. "I will give you one last chance. Step aside." |
