"So you would defend that which you know nothing of and-" "Enough, Shaellana." said Mordain, having arrived on the scene atop his black warhorse. He dismounted and moved towards the Realmers. He eyed the strange man up and down, the source of the darkness he had sensed. "What is your name?" |

Cloudwulfe stood still, like a rotten old tree shaking in the wind. It seems like he was about to fall over, his knees being unstable. "My name..." he said, his eyes white as he looked upon Mordain. Bane came to his side and helped support him so he would not fall. "M-my name..." Cloudwulfe was stammering. "Is Richard Magror. I am in..innocent." Ranorist face was ghost-white as he looked at Cloudwulfe. What new devilry was this? |

The buzzing was unsettling, but Nathaniel was beginning to ignore it. The wagon was unsteady as it trundled along with the column. Everywhere he heard the clash of steel and the thunder of feet moving all at once. Everywhere he looked he could see death. Nathaniel slashed out desperately, a pair of orcs falling dead. With a few words he hit another orc with a bolt of magic, leaving behind only a crumpled mess of a body on the grass. The press was a clamour of bodies, each one fighting purely for survival. Men fitfully lashed out with their weapons, amid shouts and battle cries. Orcs squealed and grunted in response, fighting like wild animals without consideration of the battle around them. The line was faltering under the weight of the onslaught. Nathaniel needed to steady the line. Running forward he raised his sword and uttered a fearsome roar and he let the madness and rush of blood fill him, fuel him. He had his target in sight, the turning point could be near. This could almost be... Over. Nathaniel shook his head. The buzzing was gone, these were only memories, nothing more. The pain and the loss faded and he was resolved to focus on the present. He began to slow his breathing, using the techniques he had been taught. The buzzing did not return. |

Mordain looked at Shaellana. The woman stared deep into the chaos of the man, this 'Richard Margor'. Normally, she would be able to tell simply if someone was being truthful or not, but the vortex of souls that formed this creature made him impossible to read. His companions, however, did seem confused by what he was saying. The High Seeker looked to Mordain and shook her head. The Mage of Shadows turned sharply on the larger of Richard's companions, the one not dressed in Mjolnir armour. "Is this the truth? Lie, and my associate will know. Speak the truth. Is he being true?" |

Ranorist looked at Cloudwulfe before turning his face towards Mordain, seeing Justin who rode in behind him. He held his gaze with Justin a long time before answering Mordain. "I don't know. That is not the name I have known him by." "You don't know me, son of Mjolnir," Cloudwulfe suddenly screamed out, tearing himself from Bana's grip and knocking the young man back. "You never knew me. You never cared. Murderer!" Then Cloudwulfe suddenly slumped forward in the mud, Ranorist quickly helping him up. The man was breathing calmly again almost as if sleeping. His eyes were close. "His name is Cloudwulfe," Ranorist said, eying Mordain weary. He picked his words carefully, not saying anything that was a direct lie. Just avoiding the truth while still saying truthful things. "He get's this way sometimes. Effects of old age and harsh times. You should understand the effects that troublesome times and a life that breaks apart around you may have on tired minds." |

Mordain was about to speak, but the man's last words triggered something inside of him. Not sympathy; that feeling had been robbed from him. Understanding, was perhaps the best word for it. He gestured towards the side of the column, away from the ears of others. "Walk with me." commanded Mordain, pointing to this Cloudwulfe and the larger man that now supported him. "Just the three of us. I must speak with you." |

"Mordain..." Justin began. Bana as well took another step forward, but Ranorist helped Cloudwulfe up and silenced them both. After all, despite Ariakas having stronger bonds with both Justin and Bana, he was higher ranking and they both respected that. "Alright then," Ranorist said. Cloudwulfe's face had a blank expression. Ranorist carried on, "But I tell you that the conversation will most likely go between you and me." |

Mordain nodded, moving away from the column with the Realmer and Cloudwulfe following. When they were a decent distance from the ears of others, Mordain turned to the Realmer. "Tell me your name." ----- When her Lord was gone, Shaellana looked at Justin. "What is it, Justin? You had something to say?" |

"My name is Ranorist Chrasto," Ranorist began. He hoped he would get something out of this himself, but he needed to be patient. -------------------------------------------------------------- Justin shrugged before answering Shaellana. "Cloudwulfe is not of Mordain's concern," he said. "Despite what your magesight may tell you about him." |

"And why have you and Cloudwulfe travelled here in these dark times?" ----- Shaellana shook her head. "That man carries the taint of necromancy, which is a practice outlawed in these lands. My Lord is duty-bound to investigate, no matter how little you think it may concern us." |

"You understand I am a Realmer and that I am a member of the same Order that Justin and Bana, the young stud, are members off?" Ranorist asked. ------------------------------------------------------------ Justin shrugged, "He's a Realmer and should therefore be ruled by our laws not yours." He was surprised by Shaellana's claims however. Necromancy? He cursed inside. |

Mordain simply nodded. ----- "You are all in our lands, now, however. Therefore, you will all be ruled by our laws and not your own." replied Shaellana. |

Ranoirst nodded in response, "Our commander, Ariakas," he explained, "is here in Weissland somewhere. We are here to aid him." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I can't remember you following our laws when you were in our lands," Justin answered coldly. |

"Your commander is not with this army. He travelled south some time ago, and has since entered the Crevasse. Justin, too, wanted to find Ariakas, but if he has entered the Crevasse then he is as good as dead." ----- "And why might that be, you idiot Realmer?" snapped Shaellana, her patience gone. Her words were harsh, coated in anger. "That was a time of war between our lands! Now, we are trying to rebuild peace, so you will answer to our laws in our lands!" |
|

"How can you know that?" Ranorist asked worried. "What kind of place it is?" Once more Cloudwulfe was mumbling to himself, barely audible. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin looked at Shaellana with cold eyes as he spoke, "It may be so to you. But to us it's the same difference." Then he dismounted, turned his back on Shaellana and walked towards Bana. The younger Warrior of Mjolnir did not look at Justin, only watched Shaellana and the Legion members with careful eyes. |

Shaellana's gaze did not leave Justin. "Your stupidity is surprising. Do you truly have no desire to rebuild what our lands once shared? A powerful, reliable alliance?" ----- "It is a pit of damnation, a forsaken place. The majority of people to enter that place never came out again. The few that did were consumed by terrible maddness, only to kill themselves no more than a week after emerging. The Crevasse has existed longer than anything we know. We do not know its origins, but we know that there is nothing but evil within it." said Mordain. Beneath his hood, his eyes fell upon Cloudwulfe. This man gave Mordain an uneasy feeling; there was far more to this creature than met the eye. |

Justin ignored her. Her words were empty to her. Bana answered for him however, speaking proudly. "We are," he said. "And so are you it seems, even though you still do not understand how it seems. You do not understand how much you have really hurt our Realm. It might be that there is a dangerous enemy that we need to join against to defeat, but after the war between us was ended there has been nothing like an excuse, appology or anything smaller from you. There has been no respect, and no regret in your actions." ------------------------------------------------------------ Ranorist frowned and looked to the ground. He was unsure on what to do. "Ariakas is not dead," Cloudwulfe spoke, now with a surprising clear voice. "He has reached his destination." |

"It is not my place to feel regret." replied Shaellana, her words losing their strength. She suddenly seemed distant and weaker. ----- "Wherever he has gone, he will not make it back! No one ever has!" |
