Before Boralays could respond, Amalrith told reponsibility himself. After all it was all his discovery, and he would not have Boralays controlling him anymore. "I believe I have figure out what is keeping us from contacting other mage lords and mages around in Weissland, and them from contacting us. Also I made contact with mage lord Paulin at the court of Lord Eben of Daulinen." |

"I cannot say if such an action by our enemy would help us or end us, but I do have the time to debate this with you! I will not order you to march with us; the choice is yours. But I am ordering you to make your choice now. The undead approach from the south and we have lingered here too long already." ----- "That would explain a lot." She said, nodding. Then her eyes moved back to the men quickly. "And how long have you known about this?" |

"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

Tidurion said "Well, it's been widely known that we couldn't make contact with others outside of the column for a while now. I've only recently learned from Amalrith that they suspect there is an enemy agent within the column working against us. And I believe I have found the most likely suspect." The elven mage lord smoothed out his robes and frowned slightly. He seemed momentarily distracted, but then focussed on those he was speaking to again. |

Shaellana arched an eyebrow. "And who might that be, lord Tidurion?" She did not like this; there was something very wrong about the whole situation, something she couldn't place. But something was wrong. |

Tidurion replied "It seems rather obvious when you think about it, Nathaniel Drakkon. Who else has been captured by Drathmor? Who else has spent seven years wandering away from Weissland and then just decides to turn up now? Rather convenient don't you think?" |

"Drakkon is not a mage lord. He doesn't have the power to achieve such a thing. He didn't even have strength enough to control a single spirit. You will need proof if you wish to convince Lord Mordain or Lord Aldron that this is true." |

Tidurion looked confused "Spirit? What are you on about? And regardless of being a mage or mage lord, he could easily conceal his power if he is the one behind this. Mage Lord is just a rank, you can have the power without having been given the rank. Can you name anyone else in the column who was captured by the enemy and then escaped?" |

"The Dark Lord has power beyond what we can hope for. Face to face is not the only method he can use to speak with others. Can you name anyone in the column who would be above suspicion?" |

Tidurion blenched "Well, I don't know. As we were discussing before, it must surely be someone who is a magic-user. Nobody would pay much attention to a magic-user using magic, but they would notice a soldier or refugee using magic. Unless they can easily shape-change, I think it is safe to rule out the soldiery and citizens." |

Shaellana sighed, but these three were all mage lords. Their words carried wisdom and knowledge. "I must say that I do not think Drakkon is the one behind this, but long have men like you served Weissland. You are to be trusted in such matters. Now, you can choose to bring this to Lord Mordain when he has finished with the dwarves, or I can place Drakkon under arrest myself now. But only if you are all agreed on this suspicion?" |

Karte shrugged, "I say elven Lord, keep your army moving so you don't loose anymore time. Then you stay here and listed to my words as my own men make ready to fall back. Because this might tip the scale to our advantage. From what I can tell of the situation it seems like Drathmor has so far made us react, now it's about time we do something they needs to react to." ----------------------------------------------------------------- Amalrith shook his head. He remember the last chat he had with Borsun before the other mage lord had died in the rearguard battle. Borsun had understood such things better than most people. He had said he would trust Nathaniel Drakkon with his life, despite not truly knowing him. "I say we're making a mistake by arresting Nathaniel without knowing for sure. I think... I think Nathaniel is one fully loyal to Weissland, to the people of Weissland." Boralays did not say anything. He continued to think back at the time before, when he had had his timly discussions with Nathaniel in the Mystic Tower before the younger mage had left to travel around the world. "We always thought Ithrain was loyal," he said. "Tidurion is right. Nathaniel is an obvious suspect." Amalrith looked first at Boralays, then at Shaellana. "This is crazy. What about Loter Arthious?" he said in desperation. "He's not a mage, but he knows some magic despite of this. And he's been away for a long time, we even knows he travelled through the Defiled Kingdom. And he rides alone." |

Mordain raised his staff into the air and shot several magical jets upwards. His Seekers would see the signal and start the army moving again. "Tell me, dwarf. What do you have planned?" ----- Shaellana shook her head. "These are terrible times. Lord Tidurion does make a good argument, as do you Lord Boralays. Communication is important now, for we must draw in all the aid we can. For security reasons, it would be wise to place Drakkon under arrest. For now." |

"I believe the only chance we have of defeating Drathmor and his army is by defeating Drathmor personally, as well as his necromancer lackeys. I believe you have figured out that much," Karte said. "The flanking position of the dwarf holds in Daulinen on any army attacking Asulien migth be of high property if we are to achieve that goal." --------------------------------------------------------------- Boralays nodded slowly to Shallana, but Almirith shook his head sadly. He fully believed this was a mistake. "Nathaniel will be needed at Asulien. I don't think he will understand this." |

Tidurion said "Understand it or not, it's happening." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel rode on as the column began moving again. It was not long before he was joined by General Bayel who said "Nathaniel, we need to speak." Nathaniel replied "I know, but I felt it best to wait until we make camp, to take in private." The general nodded "Of course, but I'll ride with you until we do." |

"That is an excellent point, Captain." He cast a glance backwards. "Return to your homeland. I will send word from Asulien. Ensure that your armies are prepared to make their move when the time is right." ----- "Lord Tidurion is right, Lord Amalrith. Too much is at stake now. We have no choice but to take these precautions." She sighed. Things were so complicated now. "I will see to this myself." With that, she walked away. She called four Seekers to follow her, as well as eight soldiers. Without pause, she made her way towards Nathaniel Drakkon. |

Karte and Maugen both bowed to Lord Mordain. "We will," they said in unison. Then they returned to their men who made ready to depart west and return to Dwarac. Boralays sighed as he watched Shaellana ride away. "Well, at least this seems to be out of our hands now." With that he took off, riding with the rest of the column. Amalrith was left alone with Tidurion. He scowled at the other elf. "What is it you want with this Tidurion?" he asked, his tone sharp. |

Tidurion replied equally as sharply "I want what all of us should want. I want what is best for Weissland. "You know as well as I that there are numerous individuals in this army which could be easily suspected, though all of them are untouchable because in years they have been loyal to Weissland in the open," Amalrith said. He bent forward and whispered, "It's not only Loter Arithous and Nathaniel Drakkon who has been away. What about the Dragon Lords which just joined us? Many of the Seekers? Vedgar who suddenly returned, lone survivour of the rearguard battle? Mordus?" |
