The guard nodded, "Yes Lord Mordain. I believe it was him."

"Then bring him here to me, and tell him to bring Justin's sword."
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

The guard bowed to the elf and moved on.

"What do you know of my sword?" Justin asked Mordain carefully.

Mordain turned back to Justin slowly. "That it has power, a lot of power, but also that it could easily be dangerous to you."

"I know that," Justin said. "Ariakas told when he gave it to me. For each time I wield it, especially against dangerous foes like Kazmar'Ach, I feel like I'm becoming part of the sword or the other way around. Sometimes after a long battle it's difficult to put it away or sheath it."

"You should be wary of such power. True, it can give you great strength, and strength enough to defeat your foes. But you must decide if it is worth risking yourself."

Justin simply nodded grimly.

At the same time the guard returned with Andros mounted on a horse. A younger mage, Deltanar, followed carrying Justin's sword in a sheath.

Andros reined in his horse in front of Mordain and Justin. He greeted Mordain with a smile and a nod, he had not changed his attitude to Mordain following the elf's return, then he turned to Justin.

"I am sorry for your trouble Realmer," he said. "These days has been stressful to all of us, and the courty system of ours did not bother much about one lonely foreigner. I am happy to see you released by someone with the power to do so however."

Mordain looked to the young mage beside Andros. "Give this man his sword back, boy. Now."

Deltanar looked at Mordain with worry in his face but quickly stepped forward and gave the sword to Justin.

"Good." Mordain turned to Andros. "We are trying to promote peace with the Realm, Andros. If you ever feel the need to place a Realmer in shackles again, then you will at the least make sure that I am informed of it. Understood?"

Andros simply made a bow with his head, "I will so, but then I again not much time has passed since you returned and the number of tasks on our hands are not few. But it will be my priority the next time, don't you worry Mordain."

Then he turned his face towards Justin, "And I had my reasons."

Mordain cracked the butt of his staff off of the ground, his magic rising to cause the impact to create a great, thunderous sound. "I am not interested in your supposed justifications, Andors!" He turned back to Justin. "You have your sword, you have you freedom; what will you do now?"

Andros shrugged, "Few tend to be interested in supposed justifications. It is the folly of most people I guess." He turned his horse and rode away, followed by Deltanar.

Justin watched the mage lord leave before answering Mordain, "I am very unsure about where to look for my Commander. Do you have magic users capable of locating him or something? I know I asks a lot of you my Lord, and that you should have more pressing affairs. But if you could maybe just point out someone who would be able and maybe willing to aid me, unless you can right here and now, than I would be grateful. This is of incredible importance me, without Commander Ariakas I am nothing."

Mordain sighed. "As a token of gratitude towards you Realmers for coming to our aid, I will locate him for you."

Mordain raised his staff into the air, spread his free arm and closed his eyes. Slowly and softly, he chanted a spell. His mind raced, tracking the magical trail that was left by the mark he had placed upon Ariakas's skin; it acted as more than a mere symbol of Mordain's authority. Across much of Weissland was his mind carried, until...

He opened his eyes. Beneath his hood, his face was a mask of worry. But he put such things aside before speaking. "It would seem, Justin, that the Loremaster has entered the Crevasse, far to the south near the Kuren Mountains. I can tell you only that he entered there; what has happened to him since, I do not know."

((You still have your hood? I thought your face was revealed now, oh well. No harm done yet :))

Justin's face was the face of a question mark. "The Crevasse? What is that?"

((No, still got it. My new robes have a hood too, and I put the dark shroud over my face once again. When I shape-shift the robes into armour, then there is still a covering that hides my face.))

"It is a pit of vast length and unknown depth. There is not a soul in Weissland that could tell you how long it has been there, or how it came into existence, for it predates all that we know." He leaned closer. "It is a cursed place, Justin. Most who venture in have never returned, and the few that have emerged mad beyond repair, only to die themselves no more than a week later. If the Loremaster has entered that place, then he is lost."

Justin had a grim look in his face and his knuckles were white, "How long will it take to ride there on a horse?"

"The Crevasse is far to the south of here. It would take a long time, even on horseback, perhaps a week. But Justin, Ariakas has entered that place; he does not have long to live. By chasing after him, then you are only condemning yourself to the same fate."

Justin shook his head and looked to the ground. He took a deep breath and slowly fastened the sword in his belt.

"Thank you," he said. "I believe your words. It's just... very hard for me to realize it I guess."

"No matter, I think if anyone ever is to survive such a place it's Ariakas. But if it's really is that dangerous, then I will not help him by going." He spat on the ground. "How can I be of help here?"

"There is little that needs done at the moment. Your talents, I'm sure, would be best used in the up-coming battle of Asulien. However, if you stay with this army, then I want you to stay in my company. You were arrested for attacking Lord Arthious, and there will be some amongst these ranks that resent you because of it. If I am seen to have released you with no questions asked, then my credibility could fall, and I do not need that. I want you to stay by me so as to give the image that I am keeping my eye on you. I do not need to have this army's loyalty to me tested further than it already has been."
