Mordain took a step closer. "You have weapons. That means you're on our side, or theirs." He leaned closer. "Well, which is it?" |
|
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it.

"Well we are not on theirs, if that is any guide." James said quickly looking at the figure approaching. |
"Should you ever feel agony for the loss of your Brothers due to enemy guns, bear through it with a stern smile and let your enemy know that you will get into combat soon enough. His judgement cannot be avoided! Should your charge falter under heavy resistence, roar your devotion in His name and amount whatever strength you have left at one enemy point and crush it utterly! Let the enemy feel your pain by turning their's into agony! Should you lay beaten and dying on the field, laugh with pride for even in death our enemies will fear us, leave them with a scar that will haunt them till the time of their retribution!" - Chaplain Valorus

Kelan and Laiya both began to hurl streaks of white energy at the plague-bearer. They were weaker than their previous attacks, but their speed and relentlessness more than made up for it, striking him over and over again. |

The nameless man moved closer to the raging battle between one of the other servants of Krodalis and the monks. They were bombarding the creature with attacks, so the nameless man raised his arms. A barrier of power formed in front of the creature. |

Nhazhan stood up slowly, watching calmly as the barrier before him took the assault. "Thiss... iss far from... over..." he said before turning and moving quickly from the scene. ----- Mordain looked back over his shoulder before speaking again. "There is terrible evil at work here. If you stay here, it will kill you. Come with us. We need all the help we can get." |

James looked at the other two who nodded. "Ok lets go." |

The monks stood weary as the plague-bearer retreated, but Kelan was already surveying his men and women. Four had been killed, and all were hurt or extremely tired on some way. "Steel yourselves," he said. "We must find Mordain." |

Mordain nodded. "Good, follow me. We must be quick." He began making his way towards the city gates, sticking to alleys and backstreets. |

The nameless man waited until the other creature had fled, before turning his attention to the monks. Once more he raised his arms and powerful bolts of energy erupted from the palms of his hands, striking two of the monks and knocking them over. He took purposeful steps forward. |

Kelan could not believe what this man was doing. The two monks pulled themselves up and Kelan walked forward. "Do you have a death wish?" he asked. "There are sixteen of us and one of you." |

The nameless man focussed all of his power on one of the monks. The woman convulsed, before falling to her knees. As her body shook, the monk started bleeding, first it seemed like tears of blood streaking her cheeks, and then blood was pouring from her mouth. The monk slumped forward as she died. The nameless man looked at the monk who had spoken and replied "Pathetic mortals, you cannot even see the futility of your existance. You deserve to be wiped away, along with everything else. You speak of a death wish? You assume that I can be killed." |

As if as one, all of the monks held their hands out and blasted the man with a stream of holy energy. |

The nameless man was hit by the magic stream but he remained on his feet. As the attack continued he through his hands up and suddenly the attack was redirected, shooting straight up towards the sky. He used this momentary freedom to teleport, arriving directly behind one of the monks. With a swift twist, the nameless man snapped the monk's neck. He rushed into close combat with the other monks, making it difficult for them to use their magic. |

The monks had already drawn their swords and entered combat with the man, Laiya and Kelan taking the lead as they slashed at his undefended back.

The nameless man moved with a speed they could not hope to match, dodging attack after attack. He hit one monk with a palm thrust to the face before twisting out of the way of another sword. He turned and landed a kick to the gut of another monk. He continued moving, keeping the monks off-balance in their swordplay. It must have been infuriating to fail to hit him at such close range. |

Kelan took a step back from the fight for a moment as the monks closed around the man again. He threw his hand up in the air, casting a bolt of divine energy upwards, this one much smaller and thinner than the previous, yet no less powerful. Knowing it would require great concentration, Kelan closed his eyes and dropped to his knees. A moment later, a bolt of white magic, no wider than a man, came shooting down, directly on top of the enemy. |
