Once more the monks had arrived to cause problems. Nathaniel walked calmly towards where the fighting was, looking to do something about the disease-ridden monster and the winged woman.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The nameless man ignored Mordain for the time being and rushed towards the prisoner from behind. He moved with a speed which seemed to make others appear slower than normal time would allow. He launched into a series of attacks, punching the prisoner in the back, side and then front at several pressure points and nerve clusters.

Wyrillyn recoiled in agony at the man's blows. He fell to the ground writhing in agony for a brief period of time. But then, he rolled onto his back and stared up at his attacker, laughing madly.

Kristian backed away from the enigma slowly.

-----

Nhazhan stood up and threw the closest monk at a wall. The wall itself cracked upon impact. Rasping, he turned and advanced on another.

Anailla turned to face Nathaniel, but stopped when she saw Mordain. He was... different.

"So much... power..." she said faintly.

-----

Red lightning sparked from Mordain and moved around him. His eyes began glowing brighter. His elven side was gone; this was the demon. Roaring, he flew forward, grabbed the nameless man and crashed both his foe and himself through the wall of a building at the end of the path.

"Impure... Die!" he rasped.
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

The nameless man suddenly teleported away before rematerialising behind Mordain. He clubbed his foe on the back with his hands clasped together.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathaniel moved towards the winged woman, his sword at the ready. The red glow changed to a throbbing pulse of energy around the blade, like a heartbeat.

Mordain roared as the blow hit him. He turned quickly, striking his foe with his free hand with such force that he flew back to hit-off the wall.

-----

Wyrillyn picked himself up and launch a bolt of green fire at the closest mercenary.

-----

Anailla turned towards Nathaniel. She raised her sword into a defensive position and waited for him to make his move.

-----

Evil flooded the streets as Krodalis descended upon the city. The skies darkened, black clouds moving over the sun. A towering shade rose out of the ground beside Anailla.

"Nathaniel Drakkon, the man who carries his demons with him everywhere he goes. You... you confound me. I had expected you to be more accepting of the cause." said the shade. His voice echoed with ancient, untold power. The evil that surrounded him could be felt by all in the area.

Nathaniel said darkly "Annoying aren't I?" Then he launched himself at the winged woman, tackling her to the ground and pinning her sword arm away from him. Unfortunately she managed to do the same with his sword arm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akeld rolled out of the way of the magic. It struck the ground where he had been mere seconds before. The rest of the mercenaries spread out to give the prisoner less targets of opportunity.

Anailla kicked up, throwing Nathaniel off of her. She rolled over and grabbed her blade before rising with the blade outstretched towards her foe.

Krodalis paced around the fight. "Amusing, more than annoying. The determination that you mortals have will never cease to amaze me, nor will your ignorance." He walked closer to Nathaniel and looked down on him. "Everything that is deserves to end. Can't you accept that?"

-----

Wyrillyn spoke words of magic and summoned a sword. Then, he wreathed it in green fire and stood ready.

"Come on. Just try it. I'll kill you all if I have to!" he hissed.

-----

Mordain advanced and then cast red lightning from his palms down at the enigma, ravaging his form.

"Life... underserving..."

The nameless man pulled himself up and sent three bolts of black energy hurtling towards Mordain in quick succession. He replied "That's the point. Life is undeserving, all life, all existance."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathaniel flipped back up onto his feet and spun around, bringing a number of lightning fast slashes to bear against the winged woman. Before she could strike back, he used magic to leap over her head and land a few feet away. Now the monks were behind him and he did not even know where Mordain was.

((*sigh*))

There was now a dark shade on the battlefield, and several of the monks cast bolts at it, but Kelan could somehow sense that this shade was not yet...corporeal. "It cannot do anything yet!" shouted Kelan. "Laiya, take several brothers and sisters and draw your weapons! Do battle with the Seraphim! The rest of you, concentrate on the plague-walker!"

Nodding in understanding, Laiya threw her robes open, revealing her gleaming white armor and drawing her shimmering, bright sword. Raising it high in the air, she shouted, "For Aracen!" and rushed forward towards the winged woman, accompanied by several of the monks, drawing their weapons as they ran. They rushed past Nathaniel and then past the Seraphim, slashing quickly as they ran by, trying to avoid her return strikes. One of the monks was hit by the Seraphim, sent sailing through the air and crumpling into a heap several meters away.

Meanwhile, Kelan and the rest of the monks concentrated on the plague-walker, sending a constant stream of holy white bolts at him.

James was walking to the docks and saw the commotion before him. Two other men from the dragon batallion were with him. They drew their short swords and carefully moved forward.

"Should you ever feel agony for the loss of your Brothers due to enemy guns, bear through it with a stern smile and let your enemy know that you will get into combat soon enough. His judgement cannot be avoided!

Should your charge falter under heavy resistence, roar your devotion in His name and amount whatever strength you have left at one enemy point and crush it utterly! Let the enemy feel your pain by turning their's into agony!

Should you lay beaten and dying on the field, laugh with pride for even in death our enemies will fear us, leave them with a scar that will haunt them till the time of their retribution!" - Chaplain Valorus

"We sail to Ordail. We are to meet one of Dantares' men over there, he will give us some fresh intel and then we will prepare the assassination of Fenix. Thoughts?"

Alex spoke like a machine.
((Andy, I think that the Dragons already sailed off for Ordail. We could however decide to return so as to join this plot/battle instead of having Ash & Co. in hiatus. What do you think? ))

((They do all have profiles.))

Nathaniel spoke the words of a spell as he clashed with the winged woman. A ring of energy burst around him, hitting Anailla and knocking the monks trying to attack her away several feet. Once more Drakkon raised his sword to engage her once more.

Anailla hissed at the magic and stepped back before making a broad sweep with her blade, forcing Nathaniel to move back in order to dodge. One of the monks recovered and came at her, but she spinned, parried and kicked the foe back. She was out-numbered, but could hold her own for a while before having to retreat.

Nhazhan fell into a crouch instantly and held his hands up to the divine energy. His own dark energy erupted forth to meet the holy power and hold it at bay, though the force of the attack was slowly pushing him back with his feet leaving marks on the ground as he moved.

-----

Mordain was hit by the first bolt, but deflected the second and third. He rasped at the pain, but didn't seem to care. His demonic side was nothing but a monster, driven by rage and bloodlust. The pain seemed to do little more than fuel his determination.

"Your life... Wasted..." he roared.

The demon flew forward, grabbed the enigma and carried him through the ceiling. He circled around the room and cast his foe out of the wall, back down into the docks. The house began to crumble around Mordain. He extended his hands and gripped a falling section of wall. Then, he flew from the building to hover some ten feet above the nameless man who now lay on the ground.

"Die..."

He launched the brick work down at his opponent.

Rubble smashed down around the nameless man. As the dust finally settled, all that could be seen was an arm and a leg outside of the stone, wood and other debris. The nameless man did not move.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathaniel growled as he saw one of the monks trying to attack Anailla. This was his fight, and he would not allow them to get in his way. He made a few slashes and a thrust with his sword. Drakkon's hood was down and blood covered one side of his head from his earlier wound, part of his beard was stained by it. It only served to make him seem more feral and vicious.

Mordain dropped low and fast, landing amongst the mercenaries, his father and Kristian. He spun his staff and knocked his father, as well as the two closest mercenaries, away from him before blasting a third. His towering form turned and lunged towards Kristian, his free hand held high with his claws ready to snatch the life from the boy. But, when his hand was inches from Kristian's neck, it recoiled and Mordain seemed to struggle with himself.

In a more human voice, he managed to speak to the boy. "Run..." was the only word he could get out before his eyes regained their feral glow and he unleashed a terrifying roar.

-----

Kristian didn't wait around. He turned and fled as soon as Mordain told him to.

-----

Anailla blocked the first two slashes, but the third cut across her left arm. It left a deep wound above her elbow. Her golden blood quickly soaked into the white cloth of her sleeve. She shrieked and dropped quickly to avoid the thrust.

The Seraphim used her wings to propell herself over Nathaniel and then kick him from behind, moving him towards the monks. She was no longer surrounded by them, but they were now backing her against a wall.

The mage was trying to fight without the monks, but Laiya rushed up next to him, attacking the Seraphim as she shouted, "You fool! You cannot do this alone! If we can put aside our problems for now, so can you!"
