Mordain lifted his hand and spoke a few spell words. There was a pulse of purple light from his hand before he lowered it to his side once more. "The enemy is already here, as is the ship. To the docks; we don't have much time." He began making his way towards the docks, barging past people. He had no time to waste. ----- --Enters from Sea of Strength-- Kassandra walked up onto the deck. Brakk's crew had bound Wyrillyn's arm to his torsoe and gagged him, and now they had brought him onto the deck. "Time for this to end." said Kassandra as the walkway was raised to the edge of the ship. She looked down on Kristian, but waited for the mercenaries and the strange enigma of a man to arrive. ----- A shadow fell over the city as Krodalis moved through it. "To the docks, my servants. Capture the boy alive." Nhazhan and Anailla heard the words clearly and began making their way. |

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

Nathaniel broke into a run after Mordain, racing towards the docks. Instinctively he drew his sword and held it low as he ran. The blade glowed bright red. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Entering from Sea of Strength-- The mercenaries moved up onto the deck with their weapons ready. They moved as if to surround the prisoner, but were taking strategic positions. ((The nameless man is already on the deck.)) |

((My bad.)) Kassandra looked around. "Ah, wonderful. We're all here." Her hand shot from her side, firing a bolt of deathly green magic at Brakk. The blast knocked him back quite a distance. "We'll be taking the boy, too." She nodded to the mercenaries. "Grab him." ----- Mordain rounded the corner and saw the ship. Wasting no time, he hurried towards it. |

The mercenaries went into action. Two of them grabbed hold of the boy while the others turned to guard against the pirate crew. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The nameless man simply walked over beside Kassandra. He said nothing but it was clear which side he was on. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel rounded the corner a few moments after Mordain and kept running, seeing that the ship was now in sight. |

Vold launched himself at the mercenaries, as did the rest of the crew. "You bitch! Let him go!" roared the first mate. ----- Kassandra calmly made her way towards the walkway, gesturing for the nameless man and the two mercenaries to follow with the boy. She also indicated for some of the mercs to bring Wyrillyn. The man seemed to be laughing beneath his gag. ----- Kristian struggled in their grasp. "No, what are you doing?! Stop, please!" ----- Mordain saw the woman leave the ship, dragging Kristian behind her. He made his way forward. Upon seeing him, the woman stopped and went deathly still, even taking a cautious step back. "You will release him." roared Mordain. |

As the mercenaries retreated off the ship, they fended off the priates, even killing one to keep the others back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The nameless man walked off the ship after the mercenaries. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel came to a halt and looked at the group of people trying to take the boy off the ship. It also looked like they had another prisoner, an elven man. |

Kassandra walked slowly down from the ship. "I don't think so, Mordain." She side-stepped to reveal Wyrillyn. "I'm taking both of them." She leaned her head towards the nameless man. "Care to test your combat abilities?" she asked quietly. ----- Mordain stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes fixed on the other prisoner. "Father." he said quietly. |

Mordain was caught off-guard and thrown back, skidding along the ground. Gritting his teeth, he lifted himself back up and steadied himself on his staff. "Get out of here!" he commanded, speaking to the civilians. They didn't wait long, clearly eager to avoid the confrontation. Mordain walked forward and held his staff forward, speaking words of magic to launch a bolt of his own magic back at his foe. ----- Kassandra smiled and moved down the walkway and along the edge of the dock, the mercenaries following with the prisoners. She had no intention of fighting if she could avoid it. ----- Vold knocked one of the mercs to the ground. Brakk was up and had joined the fray. "You bastards were on this ship for over a month! You know that boy, and you're just going to throw him away for a handful of gold?" snarled Brakk as he engaged in a deadlock with one of the mercs. |

Akeld twisted and kneed Brakk in the gut, breaking the grapple they were in. He followed up by sweeping the man's legs out from under him. He said "Much more than a handful pirate." Quickly he turned and followed after Kassandra, pulling one of the others up as he did so. The mercenaries were dragging the boy and the prisoner away, following Kassandra. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The nameless man took the full force of the attack and staggered back. He had never encountered such power, but he could withstand it. He stood thoughtfully for a moment, then moved his arms and hurled lightning at his foe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel said "They're trying to get away." He ran across the dock as fast as he could, running almost parallel to where the mercenaries were moving. Finally he slid to a stop in front of Kassandra and held his sword at the ready. He growled "Don't leave so soon. I haven't had the chance to kill anything yet." |

Kassandra stopped and stepped back. "Now, now. Do you really want to get involved in all this? It has nothing to do with you." ----- This time, Mordain was prepared. He brought his staff up and batted the attack away. Rage building within, he began advancing towards his foe. ----- Brakk coughed as he picked himself up. "After them!" he called to his crew. "Get Kristian back!" |

The nameless man strode forward towards Mordain as he was doing the same. As he got closer his hood moved in the wind so that Mordain could see his face. It was like a statue carved from crystal, with a blue tinge. The nameless man said "I've never faced an actual challenge before. You're not an ordinary mortal." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel laughed gruffly "Do you honestly think you can convince me to let you go? Tell me, how often does that work? Ever?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Realising the situation, the mercenaries re-arranged themselves. One stayed to hold onto the boy behind Kassandra. Another held the prisoner in a loose chokehold from behind to stop him trying to go anywhere. The rest turned to face the pursuing pirates. |

Mordain surged forward with his staff, catching the enigma off-guard and throwing him back. "I have beaten worse, believe me, and I have no time to waste." He advanced forward with his staff aimed down at the man as magic rushed around it, building up so that it could be released as a powerful bolt. ----- Kassandra stepped back but lost her footing. Mordain doubled over, though stayed upright. He reached inside his shroud and wiped the blood from his lip. He stood back up and looked at the man. His eyes were glowing red and shining bright through his shroud. "Do you really want to do this?" he asked quietly. ----- "It would seem that the Master has been forced to trust the weak with his tasks." said Anailla, walking from behind a building with her wings spread and her sword in her hand. She raised her blade towards Nathaniel. "The boy, and the elf, belong to the Master now. You will not interfere." Nhazhan walked out from an alley, moving to stand ten feet behind Nathaniel. |

The nameless man said nothing. Instead he cast a dazzling, disorientating light from the palm of his hand at Mordain's face. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel kept his sword aimed at the woman on the ground, but glanced over his shoulder before turning his attention back to her. He said darkly "Thank the gods, I was almost starting to think this would be boring." He started to speak the words to a spell, with a wicked grin on his shadowed face. |

Mordain recoiled and then unleashed a roar. Chaotic magic ravaged his robes, tearing the top-half from him. He spread his wings and stood at his full height. "Now... you die!" he said, speaking in his demonic voice. His free hand lifted from his side and launched a bolt of chaotic magic at the man. As it struck him, Mordain flew forward and barrelled his foe to the ground. ----- Anailla surged forward with unnatural speed, striking Nathaniel's weapon back and knocking his feet out from under him. "You fight the inevitable." she said. Kassandra got to her feet and gestured to the mercs. She began moving away, hoping they would follow. |
