Turning away again, Mordain remained silent for a time. He looked to the sky, to the ground beneath him, and back to Ataya where smoke was rising across the city. "Go." |
|
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil. "It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil. One of the Last Guardians. Suck it. | |

Mordain said nothing, waiting for Ariakas to explain what he wanted. |

"I need a document from you, or some other sign," Ariakas said. "As a Realmer, and a well-known as well, I'm not going to risk my neck riding through Weissland. Your people know my face." |

Ariakas looked at Mordain, his one brow crooked. "You sure you can't just simply... conjure something out from the thin air?" "Or... maybe just put a mark on me?" |

Mordain sighed and brought his horse to a halt. "Hold out your hand, Ariakas." |

Ariakas halted his own horse and simply nodded, then he removed his left glove and held his hand forth. "Do it then," Ariakas said. |

Mordain took hold of the man's wrist and chanted a spell. Sparks of dark magic flew from Mordain's fingertips and struck the palm of Ariakas' hand. When the spell was complete, a black marking in the shape of a raven was upon Ariakas' skin. "This mark will prove to anyone in Weissland that you are under my protection. Over time, perhaps a week or two, the mark will fade." |

Ariakas looked at his hand. His skin was tingling, the mark giving him a slightly cold feeling. He put his glove back on and nodded to the elf. "Until another time Mordain," then he he turned his horse around and rode backwards out of the way from the column. There he stood, watching the column steadily move past him. ((And Jimmy, I think we already are at the River of Light. Should not the army move towards either Crint or Nevir Wood, and then to the bridge leading to Daulinen and Sirth?)) |

((I've been walking the whole time, dude. And if we're already there then we're waiting for my army from the Pass of Kuren with Gorfang. Gorfang, you can just show up when you please. ))James watched as the Realmer rode off and shook his head at the man's annoying intrusion. Looking up at Mordain again, James asked, "If you are afraid the men will not follow you, why not turn to Lord Aldron? He is a good general, the men respect him." |

((Lol oh I thought you were trying to head in the direction of the whole plot thing we had discussed way back when.)) James was somewhat startled by the question. "I...I guess, Milord, but...surely Lord Aldron is more experienced, has been around Weissland longer." |

Mordain again stayed silent for a time, dwelling on his thoughts. "He has been with us longer, yes, but that is not to say that he would prove to be a better leader. In the White Realm, the armies under your command made more progress than any other force..." He paused once more. "Perhaps now is not the time to discuss such things. We should wait until we have the oppertunity to meet with more of the nobles and commanders." |

((Speak the devil's name, and lo he shall appear. Well, I've returned your army Rudder, in almost mint condition.))--Entering from Between Kuren and Ataya-- The army had turned and made haste northwards to reach the river of Light. After several hours, they arrived at the back of the main force. The bulk of the army from the Pass of Kuren joined the rear of the column, while a small group of the knights of Weissland rode up the side of the column with Lord Aldron to find the leadership of Weissland. Nathaniel rode with the knights. |

"James!" called a voice, and James turned to see Lord Aldron and a Seeker riding at the head of a column of knights. "It's Lord Aldron!" said James happily. "My lord!" "James, the army is all here and well," said Aldron as he pulled up next to James. "We lost no more men once we made it out of the Pass." "That's good," said James with a smile. He looked at the Seeker and said, "Mr. Drakkon, if I'm correct?" |
