Nathaniel reached the combat and pulled the reins of his horse away from it slightly, coming to a stop. He hurriedly spoke the words of a spell, and holding forth his free hand palm open, a gout of flame burst ahead of him. The flame incinerated the first gargoyle which came close enough, the vile creature fell to the ground thrashing and screeching in agony.

The sword glowed and throbbed in his other hand, he almost had to fight the urge to charge forward into combat with the huge undead dragon attacking the Weissland ranks.

((It just would be nice to hold off a bit.))

Peloron and his rearguard leapt into action, breaking off from the main column and wheeling about to take on the enemy. The soldiers formed together for protection while the archers began to fire.

Mordus urged Draicha forward at breakneck speed, only just avoiding a gout of fire from the ground. Gargoyles swooped at him, claws stabbing violently. The drake plucked one out of the sky and with her jaws and crushed it; spitting out the dead pieces.

The gargoyles swept low and high, moving with unnatural speed. Their numbers were falling, but death mattered little to them. Three made their way towards the cloaked rider and his drake.

Foul fire scorched the ground once more, stirking down and raising more of the Weissland soldiers. With thunderous impact, the bone dragon landed, reared up and tore its claws through its enemies.

Urden'Hel remained at the head of his army. They had reached Crint; it was now simple task of passing through the city. The Weisslanders would soon meet their doom.

The men of Weissland, brave as they were, were wavering, and Peloron ran out in front of them. "Men of Weissland! Hold your ground! We will die here today! Make your peace with Aracen and prepare to save the ones you love! Your friends! Your families! Your comrades! For Weissland!"

Men's legs shook as the bone dragon made another sweep and sent forth a cone of deathly energy. Their moral was being tested to its limits by the onslaut. Former friends now walked as mindless corpses, their soul purpose to strike down the living.

Borsun galloped down besides Nathaniel, chanting magical words, forming a huge fireball between his hands. He had dropped his reins, steering the horse with his feet.

"What in the name..." Borsun said with awe as he watched the bone dragon, "I have never seen anything like that."

The sergeant which had brought Justin and Bana into the camp rode quickly to the front of the column. There he found Lord Aldron and James Castoden. "My lords," he called out. "The rear is under heavy attack. It is a dragon of some kind, as well as numerous smaller beasts on wings. What are the orders?"

On a more serious note, who should I PM to discuss the result of the up-coming battle?))

Nathaniel replied "I don't think that matters, just blast the damn thing." He turned his attention to the gargoyles. With a smile he spoke words of power. Two of the gargoyles were approaching him, but as he finished speaking one of them looked at him, then at the other gargoyle. With a horrible cry it lunged at the other gargoyle, scratching and clawing at it. The two gargoyles fell out of the air grappling each other, fighting to the death. Then one of the undead hunters brought his hammer down on their skulls, crushing them with a mighty blow.

Borsun lifted the mighty fireball with one hand while he brushed aside a gargoyle with his other holding his staff. Then, slowly building up the magical momentum with enchantment after enchantment until he could hold it no longer, he released the gigantic ball of fire. It launched itself against the dragon, growing in size as it flew through the air before exploding against its head.

The dragon was almost toppled by the impact of the fireball; part of its skull had been anhiliated, but the beast was still standing. Its hollow eyes searched for the source of the attack; it spotted the mage. Opening its jaws, it unleashed another cone of deathly energy as it rampaged towards the man.

Borsun had to act in an instant. He quickly considered galloping away but realized he would never make it. Instead he braced itself, lifting his staff, letting his fingers ran across the arcane writing as he spoke the words of a incredible strong defensive spell.

As the dragon's magical breath hit him he met with all the force he could muster. It felt like a wave of both acid and freezing water hit him. He could feel his skin being scorched, his very own hair twisting in torment. His horse slowly was engulfed by the energy, but instead of being turned into a undead horse it was hit back with the evil energy released back from Borsun's staff and simply turned into dust leaving Borsun resting in the air thanks to his own magical defensive shield. Borsun stood against the impact, but only just and he would not last for long. The staff was about to crack with the energy that was led through it.

Nathaniel saw the rampaging dragon heading towards them. He said to Borsun "Looks like you made it angry."

He rode his horse off to the right to get a better angle, then chanted the words to a spell, a powerful one. He used his free hand as the focal point and a swirling mass of blue energy formed around it, gradually changing into a javelin. Once complete, Nathaniel added another spell to strengthen the javelin and threw it was all his might. The shining blue javelin flew through the air and struck the dragon's left front leg with cracking sound.

As the young mage's spear hit its leg, the dragon buckled and fell to the ground, its left leg shattered at the point of impact. With its jaws, it crushed a number of soldiers who were not quick enough to get out of the way. Its tail and remaining front leg lashed out at whatever it could, seeking to deliver as much damage as it could.

As the dragon tumbled over Borsun fell to his knees. He could barely breath, the air around him was steaming and his skin was red-burnt.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Vedgar and Tmar appeared at the rear of the column. Vedgar was still weak following his battle with one of the Dark Disciples and Tmar was a mage far from as powerful as the mage lords but they did what they could do, launching magical attack after magical attack against the dragon. They had to finish it off before more of the undead arrived.

Nathaniel joined the attacks of the other mages. He spoke the words to a spell and watched as a ball of flame was conjured in the air in front of him. With a single word the ball of flame was launched at the dragon's head, and he spoke the spell again, hurling a second ball of flame after the first.

Before he could do more, one of the few remaining gargoyles flew at him screeching unintelligable words. The flying undead swooped down at him, but the mage raised his sword, pulled back then thrust. The blade punched through the skull of the gargoyle, through the creature's eye and protruded out the back of the thing's head. The inside of the undead fiend's head throbbed with a red glow, as Nathaniel withdrew his sword and the gargoyle fell out of the air with a thump.

Mordus made his drake swerve wildly to get the pack of Gargoyles off his, or rather her tail. One however managed to cling onto her flank, jaws reaching for Mordus whilst its claws dug into the drakes hide. Draicha screeched and flailed wildly, losing altitude as she did so and bearing them all downward.

Mordus snarled in anger and flung a gored spike at the gargoyl, spitting it from beneath its jaw and causing a spray of ichor to gush from the back of its cranium. It fell limply in a bloodied heap to the ground.

He pulled the reighns hard and brought Draicha back up, just in time to be beset by the remaining to creatures. Rising up Draicha crushed another in her jaws whilst Mordus tore the other appart into vile shreds with a gesture.

Under the powerful magical barrage, the dragon's skull was finally destroyed and its body sagged to the ground. It was defeated.

The gargoyles shrieked in responce to the destruction of the beast. Their attacks became more focussed.

With the end of their creator, the undead spawned from the dragon's fire fell to the ground.
