James marched in silence for some time next to Aldron and Darnil, and a few hours later, a cavalryman came riding up.

He saluted and said, "Milord, we have made contact with the refugees."

"And?" asked James excitedly.

"We have told them to stop their movements," said the cavalryman.

"And my wife?" asked James, growing anxious. "Is she with them?"

"Aye, Milord, the Lady is with them," said the cavalryman, nodding.

James breathed a sigh of relief and put his hand on the cavlaryman's horse. "Thank you, trooper. You're relieved."

The cavalryman saluted once more before turning and riding back to the head of the column.

"We should overtake them by tomorrow," said Aldron, nodding.

Nathaniel kept to himself now, he had little to say. Things were happening fast, and Nathaniel Drakkon always had to hold something back, to keep control.

The spirit goaded him "Mordain's gone now, if they find out about you there's nobody to help you."

Nathaniel ignored it, keeping his attention steady on guiding his horse and keeping up with the column.

Lilith continued "In fact, with the Archmage dead and Mordain a demon, well... you've really got no hope in hell of getting rid of me do you?"

Still, Nathaniel focussed his mind, not letting even a single thought waver towards answering the spirit.

Albrecht snorted "Ignoring me? ha! You can't ignore me, I'm always here, I'm in your head."

Nathaniel thought, Maybe you are in my head. Maybe I'm just mad. In which case you are my hallucination so kindly... shut up!

Ithrain flew high in the sky upon the back of a wyvern, following the general direction he had seen the dragon fly. He saw Weissland's army far below him.

The next morning, the army came upon the makeshift refugee camp north of the River of Light.

"Darnil," said James to his Lieutenant, "can you find my wife?"

"Aye, Milord," said Darnil, saluting and beginning to move off.

After a moment, James called, "Daril! Wait!"

"Milord?" asked Darnil, turning to look at him.

"I will do it," said James. "Talk with Lord Aldron and make sure the troops are ready to help get these people moving again. Tell him I will meet him after I have found my wife."

"Aye, Milord."

James nodded to Darnil before walking into the refugee camp, asking everyone he saw if they knew where his wife was. Eventually an old woman told him that she was in the center of the camp with the rest of the noblewomen, and James thanked her before running there as fast as he could. He reached the center of the camp, marked by the small cordon of soldiers stationed around a group of tents, and began looking for any sign of his wife. Finally, he found her, lying on a small cot, curled up and facing away from him as he approached.

"Rebecca," he said softly, falling to his knees behind her.

"James?" she asked, and rolled over to face him. Her eyes were red and her face was wet with tears. "James!" she cried, and pulled herself off the bed and collapsed into him, resting her chin on the shoulder plate of his armor and breaking out into a new set of sobs. "I'm...so...sorr-sorr-sorry, James! I'm so...sorry!"

"Shh, shh," whispered James. "It's alright, it's alright."

"I...I didn't mean...what I said," Rebecca sobbed.

"It doesn't matter," said James, rubbing her back slowly. "We're together now, it doesn't matter."

"It does!" she said through her tears. "I...said...terrible things! They...they...they said the Pass of Kuren...was lost!"

"It was lost, but we were able to retreat," said James. "We were able to get half of the army to safety. Ataya has fallen as well. Lord Thaendil is dead, and Lord Mordain has become...he has gone north to see if he can aid in the defense of Lathor."

"They are gone?" asked Rebecca. "Ataya is lost? Oh...James...what...what...what are we...supposed to do?"

"Shh, don't worry about that now," siad James, running his hand through her chestnut hair.

"Everything...is so...dark," she sobbed. "So dark..."

"We will make it through this," said James. "Believe in me. Do you believe in me?"

Rebecca was silent for a moment, and then brought her head up and looked James in the eyes. She said, "I...believe in you...I...love you, James." She leaned forward and kissed James, and he pulled her close.

They broke their kiss and James whispered, "I love you too. I will always love you, and I will always be with you, no matter what happens."

--Enters from Ataya--

Kazmar'Ach moved with Urden'Hel at the head of their army of walking corpses. A number of twisted, mutilated creatures moved with the army; a group of dangerous undead constructs and monster that would help to quickly break the Weisslanders.

Urden sat atop his fiery, skeletal horse, the beast covered in black plate armour. "How far, Kazmar'Ach? What lead does the Weissland army have?"

Kazmar hovered in the air beside Urden, moving as nothing more than a shadow. "No more... than a day... keeps them... from us..."

The cruel knight smiled ominously. Soon, he would see the mortals broken at his feet.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

[[Entering from Weissland Coast, east of Ordail, after long travel]]

Justin and Bana had crossed the land of Weissland is as short time as possible. After arguing a lot Justin had finally managed to get Bana to understand that stealing horses from the forest ranch was justified. They had left a large sum of money, not enough of course, but they needed the horses.

Finally, after passing Nairio, Archen and Nevir in quick order, they finally crossed a hill which gave them a look down at the refugee camp along with the army of Weissland which recently joined. Justin pointed out the Banners of Weissland, Lord Aldron, Ataya and Castoden which ranked high among the men and tents.

It took not long time before a light cavalry troop had spotted them and galloped forward. The sergeant of the troop frowned as he recognized the uniforms and signs of the Order of Mjolnir on both the men.

"We are from the Realm," Justin said. "I am Justin, Captain of Mjolnir and advisor to Ariakas, and this is Bana." Bana looked uncomfortable and gave Justin a sly look as the man presented them both.

The sergeant simply nodded. "Take me to your lord," Justin said. "I bring news to him, as well as questions."

[[I'm not sure where this sergeant would bring the two men. Most likely to Aldron, but he's at the top now, so maybe Castoden, Peloron, or some other army commander. Anyway I believe it would be you Jimmy who would play the character, unless we are brought and someone else decides to inquire about the two men.]]

Mordus sat contemplating in the saddle when the sound of galloping suddenly interrupted his line of thought. He glanced around, and seeing the familiar tabards of Weissland on horseback thought little of it, until the pattern was broken. "What?" He thought out loud as he turned for a proper look, "Realmers?".

He pulled hard on the reighns, turning and rearing Draicha screeching onto her hind legs; blocking the road and casting a shadow on the horsemen with her outstreatched wings. He let her down slowly until he was level with the Seargeant.

"What brings men of the Realm to our doorstep I wonder?" He said chillingly, half talking to himself.

When the army had caught up with the refugees, Nathaniel had found Nola Siln, one of the Seekers as he moved through the dispersing forces. He had stopped to speak with her "Nola, I'm glad you made it out of Ataya, where is Talath?"

The Seeker replied, slightly stunned "Nathaniel? You're alive! How did you get away from that vampire?"

Nathaniel shrugged his shoulders "It's a long story. I don't think we have the time now."

Nola nodded "I suppose you're right. About Talath though, he was badly injured in the siege at Ataya. That vampire was there, he threw Talath from the wall. He survived thankfully, but he was sent away with the wounded. He's here somewhere, but I've not found him yet."

Nathaniel sighed "Well, we better look for him, make sure he's alright."

The woman continued "Oh, but I've got your belongings. Your musette bag and your staff, they are over here." She beckoned him to follow with her hand as she walked away. Nathaniel followed, rubbing at his chin idly as he did so. Nola handed his possessions to him saying "Here you go. We picked them up when you were attacked in Ordail."

Nathaniel took them and said "Thank you, that was most thoughtful of you, both of you. Now, we should start looking for Talath." The two split up and began looking around for any wounded Seekers.

The sergeant, a stocky man from Amir, reined in his horse and ordered his unit to halt as Mordus landed. When Mordus lowered his steed the sergeant moved forward and responded, "They claim they are members of the Order of Mjolnir, and one is high-ranking as well. They wish to speak with the commander so I will bring them to Lord Aldron."

Mordus frowned slightly and looked at the Realmers. "On behalf of the Tower and Archmage Thaendil I would hear you speak your piece. Tell me, what word do you bring?" He continued. Draicha shook her head irritable and screeched; spattering the ground and a few horses with foul gobbets of saliva.

"We have news about the coming army from the White Realm. They have entered Ordail, and most likely has begun their march south-east now," Justin said. "Also, something that you might want to hear is that also the Weissland army which fought in the White Realm, led by Narandar are only a day or two behind us."

Mordus stroked his stubble with gloved hand and sat silent for a moment.
"As much as I loath to admit it this is good news." He said begrudgingly. Had the situation been any other he would have impaled them and set fire to their steeds by this stage. He promised himself if he ever survived the war he would satisfy his urge.

"Make haste to Aldron. Preparations will be made." He said shortly and set the drake quickly into the air.

As the sergeant ordered his men to move forward down the road again, Justin asked the man riding beside him, "Who was that?"

"That was Lord Mordus," the soldier said. A sudden outburst behind them made the man turn around, just spotting Bana who quickly shut his open mouth. "So, that was Lord Mordus?" Bana said, a sly smile on his face. As the man frowned and turned around, Justin gave Bana an icy stare.

((Jimmy, you want to have Aldron receiving these men?))

James made his way towards the center of the makeshift army camp, where Aldron and the rest of the ranking officers were meeting under a crude tent.

As James entered, Aldron looked up and nodded. "Ah, James, it is good you're here. We need to plan out our next move."

"What were you thinking, Milord?" asked James.

"The Dwarves will most likely be sealing themselves off, going into defensive mode to hold off the hordes," said Aldron. "While going into the mountains would perhaps help us survive longer, it would put more pressure on the Dwarves and allow Drathmor to bring his full might against one area."

"Splitting us up will make us easier to destroy," said James.

"Agreed," said Aldron, "but there is another option in the north besides fleeing to the Dwarves."

"Asulien," said James, nodding. "Can we ask Lord Haidas to meet us there with the Order?"

"That is what I am hoping," said Aldron. "The Order need to get more involved, and Asulien would be a good place to make a stand against Drathmor."

"He will have to attack both us and the Dwarves, and if he chooses to concentrate on one, he will leave his flank open to the other," pointed out James.

"That would be a risky move," said Aldron. "Leaving the safety of the city to strike at Drathmor's rear? That could be disastrous."

"Perhaps," said James. "But that's not something we can afford to worry about now."

"Agreed," said Aldron. "We should make for Asulien and begin making the city ready for war."

The unliving army of Kazmar'Ach and Urden'Hel continued its march. The wraith could feel his enemy. More importantly, he could sense his prey; James Castoden.

"The mortals... suspect... nothing..."

"Fools!" boasted Urden. "They will know their doom when they look upon us."
