"Tell your master that the destruction of this traitor is more important than defeating the mortals of the Realm. Notrarat knows too much to be left standing. The mortals, however, know nothing; they have no power. It is a matter of when, not if, they shall fall. Go, to Morodith, and tell him of his orders, unless there is anything else of value you have to say to me?"
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

The vampire shook his head, then he remembered and continued, "One of their leaders, of the Realm has been killed. Lord Videous, the Watcher of Shiverland."

"Then that will make the conquest all the easier, once Notrarat has been dealt with."

The vampire nodded with a sly smile on its lips, then it quickly back away and leaped into the air. Quickly it flew north.

The spell sphere reached Moarbrek and he heard his Master's command. He turned to a nearby necromancer.

"I am leaving for Ataya. In my absence, the Disciples will command this army. See that they are informed." he said.

Moarbrek walked to an all-but demonic steed, mounted it and made haste towards Ataya.

Reports had reached the ears of Xalis'Kan of a military base within the western part of the mountains. The Dark Disciple had dispatched a sizeable portion of his forces to deal with this so-called 'Legion Hold'. Walking corpses, vampires, liches, orcs, banshees, and a whole host of other fel creatures would lay waste to the stronghold.

The Nameless Man walked through the pass of Kuren alone. There were sounds to be heard, loose pebbles, ravens or crows cawwing, a host of other sounds which signalled life. But it was not the life the Nameless Man was hunting to eradicate, at least not yet. He had caught hold of rumours that Mordain Thaendil and Nathaniel Drakkon had travelled into the pass of Kuren, hoping to hide in the shattered remnants of the Great Wall perhaps or even into the wastes of the Defiled Kingdom itself. It was an interesting idea, to hide where their enemies would least expect it, but so far the Nameless Man had seen no sign of them. There were no tracks, no signs of hasty camps amongst the cliffs.

It was likely another lie.

Krodalis appeared before the Nameless Man.

"Nhazhan has fallen." he said simply.

The Nameless Man stood as still as a statue, before nodding once and saying "Where?"

"In Valoruin. But I doubt they will still be there. They will be travelling to Asulien." Krodalis began to pace. "Anailla has fallen, too. These Weisslanders are resourceful, more than I have given them credit for. That was a mistake. We can afford no more. I want you to head north to Sirth and find the King of Half Truths. Your combined power should be sufficient to defeat our quarry."

The Nameless Man said mysteriously "It will be as it will be." He took a step forward, and began to flicker and fade, then suddenly he had vanished, teleported away. The air around where he had been made a brief sucking sound, and then there was a thunderclap of noise as the air pressure restored itself.

Krodalis lingered. He was tired. For too long he had fought this war, longer than any he fought against had even existed. And his enemies were tenacious and resourceful. It was not easy. But it had never been easy. He smirked as he thought of the nameless man's closing words. It was a wise way of looking at things, but it did not sit too well with him. The hand of fate had to be forced. Allowing things to just 'be' would get him nowhere.
