Nathaniel looked up at Dromilith and said "Attacked? What size of force has Drathmor sent against the city?"

((Sorry, I thought it was known already. Looking through the thread it of course was not obvious so Mistrandar and Ariakas was of course a little bit illogical there))

"The enemy was within sight of the city and marching when we left for you and Archmage Thaendil," Dromilith said. "The army you sent back under command of Lord Aldron would not have reach back in time."

Vorr was struck with the holy energy. It did damage to the titan, but nothing that would fell the creature. It would take far more than what these monks possessed to destroy something such as Vorr.

"You cannot win here, mortal." said Moarbrek.

Lifting his hands, the Lich Lord invoked his magic. A dark bolt erupted forth and struck another of the monks. Vorr made another sweeping strike.
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

Lathaon suddenly forgot he had strained his mind at all, and animated a blank scroll and a quill. The message wrote itself as he flew towards the battlefield, leaving it behind him to seek its own destination.

Ataya is under attack. I am on my way there. - Lathaon

James could not believe what Dromilith was saying. Rebecca was in Ataya! She was being evacuated! "So this," James said, throwing his arms out and twisting around, "was all a diversion! All a ploy to draw the army away from the prize! Ataya!"

Keelan prepared for another blast at the giant, but a female monk grabbed his arm.

"Keelan!" she pleaded.

"Not now, Alina!" he yelled back at her, yanking his arm out of her grasp.

"We must flee!" she said. "We cannot keep holding this place!"

"We cannot yield it to the Enemy!" countered Keelan, releasing a more powerful blast that hit the creature and momentarily disoriented it.

"Aracen will seal the place off!" yelled Alina. "He will not allow His shrine to be defiled! We must trust in His power!"

Keelan finally looked at Alina, and then back at the creature. "Agh!" he screamed before turning and shouting, "Make for safety!" Turning to Alina, he said, "Shield us, Sister."

Alina nodded, closed her eyes, and leaned her head back towards the sky. She spread her arms and began to chant slowly and softly to herself. Suddenly, a blinding light filled the pass, and when it faded several minutes later, the monks were nowhere to be seen.

Moarbrek gazed in amazement at the site where the monks had been standing. But they were gone.

He turned to a nearby orc brute. "Gather more of your kind, along a number of undead, and search that place!" he commanded, pointing to the area where the monks had appeared from. Moarbrek then looked back across his army and turned to a Disciple. "Send a hundred and fifty thousand further into the pass. I want another thirty thousand to span out and search these mountains for any Weissland presence. The remaining seventy thousand will travel back out onto the land behind us and establish a base. Fortify it however you can. And I want all necromancers to begin replenishing our ranks."

The Disciple bowed and moved away wordlessly.

The Lich Lord watched as flares of dark green light heralded the rise of new, undead warriors. Weissland could not hope to survive against the armies of the Master.

"It seems that it is," Mistrandar said. "But now we must hurry."

"How many can you carry?" the mage lord asked Dromilith. "Four passengers," the elf responded.

"Who would be going besides myself?" asked James.

"It would be myself," Mistrandar said, he felt no shame for saying this. He knew that no matter how cruel he could sound he would be right. "Than it should be Nathaniel Drakkon as a Seeker. And Ariakas considering his position as a ambassador from the White Realm."

((I don't want to contradict you Ariakas, but did Nathaniel and Mistrandar actually get introduced? It's just I don't remember it, so if we didn't then he wouldn't know my name, just that I'm a Seeker from the pendant I'm wearing.))

((Ahh, yes that's correct. Nathaniel never got introduced to James Castoden so he does not know who he is))

"Then who will lead your men?" Mistrandar asked.

"These are knights of Weissland," said James. "They have lieutenants among them."

Mistrandar stroke his brow, thinking quickly. "Nathaniel," he asked. "How important is your return? I know it's a unfitting question for me to ask but consider the situation."

((I was introduced to Castoden. Both me and Loter had a conversation with him. It was Mistrandar I was not introduced to.))

Nathaniel stood up and said "If there are other more important than me who are needed then they should go. I will reach Ataya eventually. I've waited seven years, I can wait a while longer."

((Mistrandar learned who you were out-of play ;) ))

"Thank you Nathaneil," Mistrandar said with deep appreciation. "I hope we'll see you again soon, whether in war or peacetime."

"It us then," Mistrandar said, turning to James Castoden and Peloron. "We have no time to waste."

Ariakas and Mistrandar mounted as well, and with Dromilith with James Castoden behind him taking the lead the four eagles to the sky and began the journey back to Ataya, to battle.

((Is someone going to rp the knights withdrawing or should I do that?))

Nathaniel watched them leave, although he greatly wished he could have returned to Ataya so quickly. He started walking again in the direction of the camp just outside of the pass. It would be the best place to see the lay of the land beyond the confines of the pass. Perhaps they would be able to see the rest of the army from there.
