Ithrain gave a harsh glare. "Come to stare, have you? You just wait. Ataya will fall and you and all your friends will become walking corpses," he hissed "and then you will regret what you do to me now."

((Someone want to RP as the prisoner?))

Mordus took care to extract the small knife slowly out from his belt as he sat on the plain wooden chair in front of the prisoner, making sure to allow the captive's imagination ample time to run rampant.

He stood up rapidly and approached the chained man, until their faces were only a few inches appart. He exhaled slowly and deliberately

"You think I'm scared of you?" Ithrain taunted. "You might as well take your bad breath elsewhere. You're wasting your time."

Mordain watched the eagles ride towards Lathaon and James from a tower window. Darkness was powerful, and it was growing closer. Time was falling away ever so quickly.
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

((Okay, but if he does not really know either is it alright if they arrive now? That means before Drathmor and his army.))

(Not really, since Drathmor's army is roughly two hours away from Ataya, whereas I'm fairly sure that Rudder's army is at least a day's travel away.))

((My bad))

Mordus drove his fist violently into Ithraines gut and stepped back, eyeing the prisoner placidly. "Better. I do not care much for idle chatter truth be told. Do not worry my dear friend, there is ample time to wreak ruin uppon you."

Ithrain forced the air back into his lungs with a deep breath. "No, 'dear friend', you're wrong. You will find that time is in short supply now. Very short supply indeed."

Shaellana burst into Mordain's chambers. "My Lord, the army of the Dark Lord is here!"

Mordain rose and walked with her towards the southern wall.

-----

Drathmor sat upon his podium as his massive army formed up around him, preparing for the assault. He looked at the putrid undead, the savage orcs, the cunning humans, and all the other dark creatures that had pledged alliegance to him. And he looked at Malrith, the towering titan of terrible power that would bring ruin to his enemies.

Weissland was at his mercy.

"Arhaina, there you are," Elandir said. "You listened to my advice, then."

In addition to her new weapon, she now carried a crossbow and wore a shirt of chainmail. Her back was to him.

"The evacuation is complete. There are only warriors, mages and leaders here now. I am no mage, and I cannot be a warrior, or a leader, or a heroine, now. I am not sure what to do."

"You want to fight, don't you?" he asked.

"Of course. But I can't."

"I cannot persuade Lathaon not to forbid it, I am sure you understand."

She nodded, knowingly. "You would lose trust."

"To say nothing of the risks, of course," Elandir added. "But I can't see the fairness in his actions here. If it is your wish, I can help you."

"How?" Arhaina questioned.

"I will tell you what you need to tell him."

"I'm listening..."

--Entering Ataya from Between Ataya and the Great Wall--

HIC, I demand that you bludgeon yourself with a rock until your mental status returns to the level of a rapist who calls back to apologise! Your use of elaborate language and words is making me uneasy. Although, I am somewhat relieved to see that your punctuation remains shit-based.

Borsun stood at one of the tall towers of the Mystic Tower of Ataya. Around them the city stretched wide, though in the far distance one could spot the army of Drathmor filling the horizon.

The mage lord turned to face Andros and Tmar entering the balcony. Tmar gasped at the size of the horde before them, though Andros seemed unmoved except for a deep frown.

"We have a hard time ahead of us," Borsun said. "I'm glad I have taken chosen the way I did. I regret nothing."

Tmar nodded, "Neither do I. It is here we were meant to be, from the beginning of our days."

Both the young elf and the tall, black-bearded man turned to Andros who simply sighed. "I do not regret. But in some hours time, or maybe even a day that might be quite different."

Mordain stood in a command tower positioned behind the wall. It maintained a good distance from the wall, as well as being tall enough to allow Mordain to see across the battlefield.

Shaellana stood with Mordain, as did Gor, a few Seeker officers, a selection of military officials and a few mage lords. The defence force was assembled around them, though it paled in size to the mighty hordes of the Dark Lord.

Mordain looked at the crude map before him. Wooden carvings, shaped similar to different types of soldiers, gave indication to the current positions of both friend and foe.

"A strong force, consisting mainly of spearmen and archers, stands in defence of the south gate, my Lord." said one of the Seekers.

"Archers stand ready along the walls, as well as within the pallisades that were constructed. Spearmen hold the walls too, ready to drive back any who should try to scale our defences." said another.

"And what of the dwarven warmachines?" asked Mordain, turning to the military officers.

One of them was quick to reply. "We built as many as we could. They are crewed and ready to fire. But the dwarves didn't just build catapults; they've also managed to reinforce the walls at key points."

Mordain nodded. "Good. Have all archers and catapult crewmen stand ready. Tell them to wait for my command to fire. And I want to be informed the instant the enemy force begins to move!"

-----

Drathmor looked at his Disciples. "Prepare to release the fleshlings and move the army forward, but do not charge. And keep our forces out of range of whatever weaponry they may have."

The dark creatures moved away silently to carry out their orders.

Drathmor smiled; his enemies were about to taste his fury. They would see their doom in his eyes. They would submit. Or they would fall.

The three mages proceeded down from the tower, preparing to head for the area where the enemy would strike. At the entrance to the tower they met with Boralays, two other mage lords as well several of the mages who had helped Ithrain harassing Drathmor's army earlier.

"I would have felt more sure about this with either Ithrain or Drairan around here," Tmar said uneasily. He was not a mage lord, but though he was inexperienced in battle he was a skilled mage.
Borsun spoke with anger, "Do not speak of Ithrain again. His very name makes me angry." He knuckles were white around his wooden staff.

When Boralays saw them he halted his group and turned, "What will you do?"
"Is it not obvious," Borsun said. "We should join our magic together, wield it together to crush the enemy. We must all get down to the wall and help our fellow men of Weissland."

"Not all of us do that best," Gremen said. He was a mage lord as well, from the western parts of Weissland as well.
"I agree" Boralays said. "I think we should all depend on our own knowledge. This is what we have prepared for as magic. To do what we do best, not simply wield magic. But wield it the way we do best."
"So you stay back then," Borsun. "Away from the magic."

"Healing and as well as advice is what I do best," Boralays responded coldly.
Borsun shook his head, "So be it." He exited the building, closely followed by Andros.

Boralays noded to his own group and all of them dispersed, each to to the position where they would be of most use. Only Tmar was left in the entrance.

"So let us all of do what we do best then," he laughed coldly to himself. "Let the game begin." Then he made a short incantation while holding forth an amulet hung from his neck, and slowly he vanished into the background.

The defenders watched as massive, thick cages were pulled to the front of the Dark Lord's ranks. Evil creatures were held within.

Mordain saw this movement in the enemy, and he also took note of the fact that the enemy were forming-up and moving closer to the city. They were dividing into two main forces; the larger force faced towards the wall, and the smaller forced seemed to be preparing to assault the gate.

"I want Seekers to be sent onto the walls, to reinforce the defences and protect the archers. And send the Legion to defend the gates should they fall." commanded Mordain.

((So the Legion has arrived. Or maybe they were in Ataya or the time? What about the Az'Gor and the Undead Hunters? Have they arrived?))
