((Patience. Why don't you go and start the Realm of Purity while you wait
))Arhaina followed the exit, thinking about what she should do next. The tower might hold possibilities, but so did the castle, where her possessions would be, and the city, which would not have been completely evacuated just yet. The passage ended at a wall, which turned out to be another secret door. There were crates of confiscated goods piled up around her, and a ladder lead up to ground level. She quietly avoided the jailor and left the building... ((Should I make a new topic for Elandir's army, or should I use the Endral thread?)) |

It was not long before Arhaina was confronted by a Seeker. "Milady! Lord Mordain requests your presence immediately!" "Why?" she asked. "Concerning what?" As she turned to face the Seeker, he noticed the scabbard and handle by her side. She hoped she would not have to explain this. "An order you have recently given," he said. "Come to the Tower." She did so. |

((Will Arhaina have hidden that scabbard before entering the room, to hide it from Mordain? Or will she still have it with her?)) Arhaina entered the throne room, approaching Mordain. "Arhaina, I do not mean to keep you long, but you gave an order to release Tarain Pathfinder. I have suspened that order. I do not feel that it is a good decision." said Mordain calmly. |

Mordain nodded. "I do. As for the creature, I cannot say. It may have been human, once, but as for what it is now... It was dark in nature; that much is certain." Only then did Mordain take in Arhaina's attire. Beneath his hood, he arched an eyebrow. "Tell me Arhaina, are you thinking of leaving the city?" |

"No," Arhaina said. "But you should not worry about me. The Great Wall has fallen and the evacuation is not over yet. I disagree with you about Tarain, but I will not waste your time arguing about him." She drew her sword and held it out, one hand on the flat of the blade, one on the handle. "Not perfect, but perfectly adequate," she said. "It could fulfil its purpose, should that be necessary." She slid it back into its scabbard. |

"I would ask that you do not defy the Archmage's wishes, my Lady, but as always, I shall serve as commanded." Mordain bowed. "And thank you for keeping Tarain in our custody. Now I must leave, for there are matters that require my attention." With that said, Mordain left the room, moving towards his personal chambers. |

Haidas was in the streets of Ataya, comforting the crowds of people and directing them northwards. It was difficult to push through, but Elandir persevered. "Ainerar, a word," he said, then disappeared into a quiet street to the side, under the shade of a large tree. Haidas reluctantly turned down that street and found him. "Elandir?" he said. He saw through the mercenary immediately. Elandir always hid his emotions under a blank expression. "Something's wrong. What is it?" "Endral has fallen," Elandir said calmly, fighting his anger. "The Shattered Sword have taken control." Haidas adopted a grave face. "What? What happened?" "I found out only very recently. They have taken control," he repeated. "In my mind, that means they killed the militia and all who were a threat to them." "What about the citizens?" "I have told you what I know," Elandir said. "I have troops available, but I will admit I have no idea how to fight an unknown enemy, especially in their own territory." Haidas frowned. "You have considered darker methods, haven't you. Listen, we are allies in this. A lot is at stake if we cannot work together. What are you keeping from me?" "Ah..." Elandir hesitated. "I... I have made a deal with some old enemies. Their services for our protection." "Go on. Quickly, Elandir. Time is precious now." "Mehrak's men. Ulrin, his cousin, approached my friends with the offer. He wanted to join up against the Shattered Sword." "Do you realise what you've done?" Haidas said, surprise escaping him. "We cannot afford to ally with those we cannot trust, and those men are not beyond murder, betrayal, even Necromancy! You, of all people, should know the importance of trust!" Elandir repeated Haidas' words. "Time is precious now." He sighed. "It is a gamble, but with their aid, I can achieve what I could not before, and achieve what I could in less time." "You should not have made such a decision yourself." "It is too late for that now. What should I do about Endral?" Haidas shook his head. "You cannot fight them head on, you know that," he said, thinking. "Draw them out. Give them bait and then strike when they reveal themselves." "But how do you bai-" Elandir began. "Wait, I do know a way... No. No, I can't do that." |

Mordain was in his chambers when the door opened slowly. Mordain turned, surprised to see Shaellana, Marr and Brae standing before him. The three servants bowed. "Speak." commanded Mordain. "My Lord, I have assembled the Seekers." said Brae. "They are all within this city, bar a small number." Mordain nodded. He looked to Marr. "I have awoken Aedarus and sent him to rouse Malathos. Both will join us here soon. As for the Legion, it should arrive within the next day." said Marr. Finally, Mordain came to Shaellana. "Lord Mordain, I did as commanded. The Az'Gor are coming and will be here within the week." She paused. "And Gor is here with me now." "Good." Mordain nodded his approval. "You are dismissed, all of you. You know what still has to be done." The three servants bowed once more before leaving. Mordain only had to wait a moment for Gor to enter. Gor stood across from Mordain; the two were close in size, Gor being the slightly larger. "It has been a long time, old friend." said the chieftain. "It has indeed, Gor." |

"You will find a way, I'm sure." "I will do my best as always, Lord Haidas," Elandir said. "One more thing. Mordain's seekers are carrying artefacts from the tower to the north. You should let no opportunity arise for these to fall into the wrong hands. I may not be a mage, but I understand from the archmage's words that there are some rather powerful devices among them." "I would expect so," Elandir replied. "Farewell." He was quick to vanish from sight. Talking to Haidas had always made him feel uneasy. |
