"The dead are not the only ones to serve under the Dark Lord." said Mordain quietly.
"Stand against me if you must, for of course you will. Conflict is just another part of this flawed reality. You need to cling to your concepts and purposes, your feeble honour and glory. None of it serves any purpose in the end. And the end draws close." - Krodalis Thaendil.

"It really is amazing; she killed Kelan Wealer, not that I am complaining, but then the order welcomed her as their new leader. It makes one wonder if I were to ram a blade down her throat, would the monks then follow my commands?" - Mordain Thaendil.

One of the Last Guardians. Suck it.

((Did not see Mordain's post there, but since he spoke 'quietly' he might have spoken at the same time as my character or something? What say you? ))

"It seems you believe you know much about an enemy which have been dead for over one thousand years," Ariakas said. "Do not make that mistake. Drathmor certainly knows more about you than you do about him. I fear an aerial assault alone might be too easily predicted."

At this, Mordain looked directly ar Ariakas. "There are those within Weissland who know far more about him than you might think, Loremaster."

"I do not doubt that Thaendil," Ariakas said grimly. "I am however advising you to not make the mistake of believing you know ENOUGH about him or his minions."

Mordain made no reply. Ariakas seemed unwilling to appreciate the true value of the knowledge available to them.

"The dead will make up the majority of Drathmor's army, Mordain. Even if that is not the case, the only troops aligned with the Defiled Kingdom which have ever displayed any skill are the dark elves."

Lathaon looked at Ariakas. "If this does not work, there is nothing to stop us withdrawing and trying something else."

"I'm sorry Thaendil," Ariakas said, "But you need this to work. Every encounter with Drathmor's army will count in the end."

"Ariakas is right, my Lord. If you are going to do this, then you must do it right, and you must make it matter. An attack from the air alone will not allow you to bolster sufficient numbers."

Ariakas scratched his cheek before talking again, "If I may suggest something... are there not some hidden pathways through the mountains of Kuren?"

"There are routes through the mountains known only to those who are familiar with the area, yes."

Ariakas rose from his seat, and walked back and forth in the chamber.

"When Drathmor breaks into Weissland his army will move forward like like quick wave, breaking through all resistance. We can't let him do that, so we need to slow him down. Best way to do that is to make him move forward with caution. Show him that he needs to move forward with caution unless his wants his gigantic horde to count for nothing in the end."

With that he stopped walking and turned to Lathaon.

"Use every trick in the book. If one of his flanks is open, make him close it unless you manage to crush it before. Filled the road with traps. Crush his walking corpses with boulders. Lit the ground itself. Use hit-and-run attacks at every possible moment. Every hour count, and every dead corpse which can not be reanimated counts more."

((Shouldn't it be "light" then? Unless I'm wrong, "lit" is in the past tense...))

"I thought I said earlier that our mages should be causing as much trouble as they can," Lathaon said. He thought for a moment, then added: "When it comes to boulders and rocks, some dwarven aid could work wonders. Small groups of experienced miners could match the destructive power of an earth spell, perhaps in a more controlled and reliable way."

((Damn that Eben... did I say there were any other dwarves around?))

((My character express himself in an slightly exotic way, kinda because of where he is from :P

And no, there are no more present))

"Can you get help from the dwarves in time?" Ariakas asked.

"It is unlikely that we could get any support from Daulinen in time, but we might find volunteers living in Ataya. Perhaps not much but with their guidance, human miners could do the job almost as well."

Ariakas nodded, then slowly dropped back into his chair.

"Ithrain, I would like you to conjure a storm. First within the Pass, to hopefully loosen the rocks, and then over to the east, to hopefully redirect them further in. Have some other mages help - make sure they can't counter it," Lathaon said. "Haidas, we need more support from the Order. Gather the nearby troops for the defense of Ataya and Raquil and send for more from the North. When you have done that, help with the evacuation. Mistrandar, you have some skill in earth magic, do you not?"
