Grobtak staggered backwards, but quickly regained his balance. He lifted his arm, casting a ball of white energy at close range which hit the vampire squarely in the abdomen. Then he tossed himself once more towards the creature, slashing towards it with his weapon. |

The vampire doubled over as the energy hit him in the gut, but even as his enemy jumped and slashed at him, he was moving. Parrying the slash, he rose into the air, wings beating just enough to give him lift. He kicked out at the creature, causing enough distraction to land behind him. Kor'Mor'Oka went for a killing blow with his sword, but mere seconds before making contact, he stopped and kicked his foe in the back. He danced back and away from his foe, laughing darkly. He said "Try to pick up the pace, I'm starting to get bored." |

Grobtak slowly turned around, looking at the vampire. He grinned, "I will then." He lifted his both hands, and suddenly a arc of white and blue lightning razed from them. It hit the vampire with full force, taking it completely by surprise depiste it being aware and ready. The vampire was blown across the room and hit the wall on the other side with a crash, the whole wall and ceiling shaking from the impact. |

Kor'Mor'Oka stood up slowly, shaking his wings to get rid of the dust and loose debris. He stepped forward and said "Magic? Rather weak to keep using it. What's the matter, don't you measure up where it counts?" Running across the chamber, the vampire rushed into combat again, using both his sword and gauntlet-covered talons with blistering speed. As he fought, he wondered why the voice had not spoken again. |

Grobtak was growing tired of this, he feared this was a creature capable of killing him if he got unlucky, despite the feeling of invincibility which filled him. He now conjured a weapon in his other hand, a large, heavy mace from which sharp iron spikes portrued from. He used it like it was light as a small rod. He threw himself against the vampire, ducking its blows and lashing out with both weapons. |

Kor'Mor'Oka was a masterful player when it came to deception. Few ever truly knew his intentions and the meaning behind his actions. So it came as quite a surprise to his enemy for what came next. As he parried and blocked the renewed attack from Grobtak, he suddenly tossed his sword up into the air. His foe was momentarily distracted, looking up for just a split second. And it was enough advantage for the cunning vampire to use. With his vampiric strength he grabbed hold of his opponent's wrists, pushing the weapons away from him enough to avoid risk. Then he forced Grobtak painfully back against the stone wall. Quickly he headbutted the creature, kneed him in the gut and then the groin. Before his foe could properly recover from the flurry of offense, the vampire opened his mouth and leant in, his fangs mere inches from Grobtak's throat. He pushed against his foe, strength versus strength. The vampire smiled wickedly. |

Grobtak was shocked by the flurry of blows and repertoire that the vampire showed, he was forced backwards, pressed into the wall and then realised the vampire bent down to deliver him its deathly kiss against his throat. But he was defeated yet, he had far from used all the powers that the tome had given him, so far merely testing it, feeling it. He looked into the face of the vampire, which grinned at him, thinking Grobtak was someone he could play with. How foolish of him, Grobtak thought. He grinned back at the vampire, and thought he could sense the tiny, partial feeling of puzzlement inside the vampire. The small feeling that told him the vampire truly did not know what it faced. With a booming voice he said a word. A single word, a word of dark, black evil, of an ancient past when the gods walked the world. The room began to shake, rubble falling from the ceiling and floor tiles moving in either direction. Where the vampire hands held the wrists of Grobtak tightly, smoke began to rise, the skin of Grotbak being turned into some kind of hot material. Then, as all this happened in a few hearbeats, he looked deep into the face of the vampire, as the face of Grotbak slowly began to transform. Huge fangs portruded from his mouth, his nose sunk into his face, the norstrils turning into nothing more than tiny slits, his eyes turning into burning, red daemonic eyes and his skin turning into scales. At the same time his body and muscles began to grow as well. "Now we play little vampire," the creature that had been Grobtak hissed. |

Kor'Mor'Oka was still unfazed. So pathetic was the creature he faced that it truly believed that this magic and trickery and transformation would be able to stop him. Nothing could be further from the truth. Despite the pain in his hand, the other protected by the gauntlet, the vampire held onto his foe. Kor'Mor'Oka replied "I've already told you little flesh puppet. This is not a game." Before his enemy had finished changing, the vampire punched him twice in the face with his gauntlet then turning, still holding on with his other hand, threw the creature across to the other side of the room, into the wall. As he picked up his sword again, he said "And I'm still bigger than you, little thing. You are just a weak little mortal thing, pretending to be something better than you are because you have found a measure of power. You're pathetic." |

As Grobtak was thrown across the room he halted in the very air and brought himself to the ground. This was not a mere illusion, unfortunatly the vampire would understand too late that this was a true transformation. Grobtak did not say another world, instead he opened his now extended maw. A powerful sonic wave came out, like the cry of a banshee. It hit the vampire full-force, filling his keen ears with terrible noise which almost brought the vampire to its knees. Grobtak was not done with his assault however. He lifted his hand and the very area where the vampire stood exploded in a blast of fire, smoke and ruined rubble. The vampire was thrown backwards and through the room. |

Kor'Mor'Oka dodged about, flapping his wings and avoiding much of the damage. The creature persisted in proving it's own ineptitude. There was no way this thing could defeat Kor'Mor'Oka. And sonic energy? So pathetically used. Kor'Mor'Oka was a vampire, his hearing was extremely accute. But it was not vital to him. Even now his hearing was barely impaired. As Kor'Mor'Oka flew forward he laughed "You're just not very good at this are you? Better at beating little girls in chains, you can't dish it out properly when someone fights back." Using his full speed for a change, the vampire leapt forward like a blur, so fast he could barely be seen. He shoulder-barged into Grobtak, hammering him into the wall. With a well-aimed hit from his gauntlet followed by swipe from his sword, Grobtak's magically formed sword was shattered, opening up his guard. The vampire kicked him in the gut, before using his talons held straight like a blade. He hit Grobtak just at the side of the neck, hitting the nerve cluster. He moved back, standing right beside the pedastal where the book sat. |

Grobtak slowly rode from the floor, dust and gravel falling from his body. He scratched his neck. The hit would have killed of any mortal man with easy, but not Grobtak. Far from it. Slowly he turned towards the vampire, still not speaking. Then with the same eye-blindingly speed that the vampire had showed before Grobtak leaped across the room. For each attack that the vampire had used against him, Grobtak understood he could do the same and twice over. He only needed to see it to realize it. He hammered into the vampire, a sword having once more been conjured in his hand. Twice he slashed at the bestial creature, two deep cuts in the abdomen before he leaped backwards again, all in an instant. He knew the cuts themselves would not harm the vampire that much, it would heal easily and quickly. But the poision delivered from his sword was deadly, strong enough to harm even a vampire. In due time it would even kill it. |

Kor'Mor'Oka stood back and laughed, a vicious grin on his face. He said "Oh really, do you honestly think that will work? Poison? Interesting thing about poison, you take a small amount every so often, you build up an immunity to it. I've had six hundred years." This was growing dull, the creature seemed to think it had the upper-hand. It still had not permiated that thick skull that Kor'Mor'Oka was always a dozen steps ahead of an opponent. He had already seen the fight to it's conclusion and left, all that remained was carrying out the actions. With a few attacks from his sword, he forced his foe back, then kicked his legs out from under him. Quickly placing his sword at Grobtak's throat, Kor'Mor'Oka moved a step forward and a step sideways, resting his gauntlet on the book. He Looked at his foe and said "I take it you got this power from the book? I wonder what happens if I take the book, will you lose the power? Will it kill you straight away perhaps? Let's find out shall we?" |

Grobtak grinned, "Do it. Let's see what the master does with you." He looked at the blade pointed at his throat, lifted his eyebrows and the sword disintegreated, turned into dust and fell to the ground. |

Kor'Mor'Oka ignored the pitiful attempts of Grobtak to defeat him. With the sword gone, the vampire slammed his foot down on his foe's throat, pushing hard enough to hold him in place and restrict his breathing to a minimum. Fighting for breath, he could no longer fight Kor'Mor'Oka. The vampire picked up the book in his gauntlet and waited for a few moments. Silence. He said "Looks like the master doesn't have much to say." |

"We will see," Grobtak said as he bodily form turned into some kind of black ooze, a dark liquid running across the floor, then reappearing a few strides away. "It seems you counter my every move vampire," he spoke as he rematerialized again, now in his originaly body. |

Kor'Mor'Oka held the book and replied "You might see it like that. But that is because you don't see the bigger picture. I get so bored speaking with you living things. Always 'living in the moment', it is so limited. The undead know that there is no such thing as now, it is just an abstract you creatures create to comfort yourselves into thinking anything you do matters. That is why we are superior to you. Always have been and we always will be. Nothing you do will change that." |

Grotbak nodded, he would have cared for little of these things before but now it was all clear to him and made perfect sense. His intellect had evolved as well, far beyond anything he could ever imagine. But did he need the tome anymore? He had the powers, would it disappear if the vampire took the tome with him. He wondered about this, waiting for the voice to answer but nothing came. "So what do you want with the tome? Who told you of it?" he asked. |

Kor'Mor'Oka looked at his foe, looking into his eyes. It was as if the vampire could see a spark of something there. It was as if the creature was beginning to see things like the undead saw things. It was intriguing. He said "I want the tome because it is required. It seems apparent that you serve a 'master', as do I. My Master wants it, His reasoning is not for me to question." |

Grobtak stepped slowly to one side, watching the vampire now with interest. "And who is this 'master' of yours, may I ask?" |
