Disgusted because you are afraid of fighting with a flak jacket on without all of your power armour and genetical improvements? Disgusted of being a real human - of facing threats head on, and not behind heavy bolters and power armour. Bah! Typical!

Excuse me, did i mention using a weapon human? Take your armour off, and I shall do the same, place down you weapons and I shall do the same, and i shall end you.

"Should you ever feel agony for the loss of your Brothers due to enemy guns, bear through it with a stern smile and let your enemy know that you will get into combat soon enough. His judgement cannot be avoided!

Should your charge falter under heavy resistence, roar your devotion in His name and amount whatever strength you have left at one enemy point and crush it utterly! Let the enemy feel your pain by turning their's into agony!

Should you lay beaten and dying on the field, laugh with pride for even in death our enemies will fear us, leave them with a scar that will haunt them till the time of their retribution!" - Chaplain Valorus

Actually isn't the power armour part of a space marine, because of the black carapace? As in, it's unremovable?

Besides, what's the point in wearing a flak jacket; it will just slow you down, and give no real benefit :P

No need to be so jealous

I have to agree there is something very appealing about IG. Probably the heroism associated with them.

A truly heroic man doesn't hide behind power armour and genetic modifications he bayonet charges with a t-shirt and a lazer pointer like the IG :P

I read a black library novel called "Deus Sanguinius" and the main character starts the book without his armour, because it got destroyed in a battle with a chaos lord. So i guess its possible to take your armour off.

Do not use Deus Sanguinus or Deus Encarmine as references, because it's known in public that the author does know a twit about the 40K-universe.

He could be correct there though.

Yeah, the armour can be taken off. It connects to the black carapace, its the carapace which is fused to the space marines body. And I've got to say, IG are so much cooler than SM. All they need is a bayonet with some guts behind it.

There are no miracles. There are only men.

Chainsaw > Sword
Lasguns > Bows
Leman Russ > Mumak
Basilisk > Trebuchet
Kaskirin > Citadel Guard
Ogryns > Uruk Hai
Comissars > Captains

:P

I am just obsessed with IG once again, since I got Winter Assault for Dawn of War, and I might start collecting 'em....

"Fear ensures loyalty!" :P

Power sowrd>>Chainsword :P Kinda ironic considering by all means it's still a sword.

Pulse rifle>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lasguns
Hammerhead>Leman Russ
XV88>Basilisk
XV25>>>>>>>>>>>Kaskirin
XV8>Ogryns

Yeah, go Squiggoth, go!

Just to aim this back towards the actual topic. Does anyone think GW will attempt to extend the LOTR license when it runs out? I think it's supposed to run out in 2010.

I'm actually beginning to doubt it. It's not that LOTR STBG is loosing players where I live, but GW is just doing a increasingly worsening job at supporting their third core game.

Yeah, that is true. As I mentioned before, lackluster support from WD. No more BGiME (well for those countries where it has completed its run), and little in the way of GW web support. GW claimed it was their third core game, but they don't show it often.

Well if its a failing product i can see why they'r trying to ditch it. Mind you the Models and Rules for LoTR were very well made.

They were. It is the support that sucks.

Seems to me there are two opposing gamer factions. LoTR people who are dismayed at lack of support and WH/40k players who are rejoicing in revenge.

WH/40K-players that dislike LOTR STBG should change their perspective. Thanks to LOTR STBG hundreds, and I believe even more, players were introduced to Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warhammer 40.000.

The majority of the latest WD is devoted to Lotr....

I dislike Lotr myself, but i have nothing against those who use it, I just feel it should be more of a specialist game than one of the major ones perhaps....... I dont know, i feel WHF and WH40K have been losing out in some respects to it in recent years.
