Nord saluted and said "At once sir." He turned and left the room. Quickly he selected four Seekers and said "We need to get to the barracks and get the garrison ready. I will take the south-west barracks." He pointed to each of the Seekers in turn "You take the south-east barracks. You've got the north barracks. You go to the central barracks." Finally he looked at the last Seeker and said "I need you to go to as many Inns and taverns as you can, get as many sailors as you can and direct them to the nearest barracks. We need everyone we can get." Nord began moving off along the corridor, the other four Seekers following. They moved with haste to the cellar and slipped out of the window one by one. Even though they were going to gather troops for the defence of the city the Seekers always remained stealthy and cautious. Nord waited as one at a time the Seekers left the alleyway in one direction or another. When it was clear, he made his own move, heading south. He jogged quietly along the empty street, head moving this way and that, always aware of his surroundings. When he reached the turn, he moved to the corner of the building and carefully looked around. Nobody was in the next street. Nord ran on, heading for the south-west barracks. The Realmers might have been able to overcome the minor watch in the early hours of the morning, but the barracks were full of soldiers and consisted of fortified, sturdy buildings. The Realmers did not have the troops in the city yet to defeat even one of the barracks. |

((You know I have already killed the soldiers at and conquered one of the barracks right?
))Viven Led stood in the shadows of the Rodern Tower of Ordail, the tallest building in the whole city. From his position he and the few men who followed had good view over one of the five barracks around in town. Doman had given the order to watch over each of the different barracks in Ordail, in case it seemed like the city watch or the milita would find out what was going on. Vivien Led licked his lips as he eyed the other soldiers loyal to their case hungrily. The blood of Opeth and the other mages had not been enough to satisfy him, he wanted more. He wanted to launch himself against his enemies, feast on their flesh and rip their guts open. He wanted to do it alone, and without these amateurs which followed him. What were they compared to him? What were anyone compared to him? ---------------------------------------------------------------- Foren Heften reached the shadows of the gatehouse with his men. Two Realmer soldiers greeted them and waved them in. Dead Weisslanders lay around on the wall and paved road. Peter Kradensis stood among some Realmers. Foren Hefted breathed heavily and walked towards Peter. "It's good to see you alive Peter." "We have little time," Peter said. "It was only with luck that I, Vivien Led and Sergeant Motrem managed to break out with a few of our men. Many are dead already and Hound is still being kept prisoner." "Where?" Foren asked. "I am unsure," Peter said. "In one of the barracks." "Aid will arrive soon," Foren said. "Viljam Heglin stood ready with a force of four thousand." "What of the rest of the army?" Peter asked. "That will take longer," Foren said. "We are in luck that Ordail is so weakly defended," Peter said. "In luck considering that each of the three armies that have passed here the last two week brought with them many of the men of Ordail against the enemy to the south." Foren nodded, but thought he should bring something up. "Peter, this makes no sense. First of all, it's against everything that Weissland should suddenly turn against us. Second, what do the port mayor of Ordail hope to do with this? Even if the city watch and defenders were prepared for us, and we did not manage to get anyone inside their walls like this all they would get would be a long siege against an enemy that would not fall back and would eventually break them. What was their motive for this?" "I do not know," Peter answered. "Hopefully we may capture some of the leaders of the enemy, maybe the port mayor, so they may answer our questions. I agree, this makes little sense." |

((That's bull. None of the armies have taken any troops from Ordail. Each of the five barracks have several thousand soldiers in them. Ordail has a full garrison minus the small number of troops you've killed on watch. None of the main barracks have been attacked, you would need at least ten thousand troops to wipe out one barracks without the alarm being raised. You are completely underestimating potentially the second most important city in Weissland. You only had a small force and you've been acting stealthily. You can't be a small stealthy force and a huge overwhelming force.)) |

((Alright, first of all: Why did you not say that immediatly after I had taken down the barracks, so I did not have to change something about it now? Also, how large is the force defending Ordail then? I'm sorry about the first barracks, I thought there was much lesser number there. Also when it comes to some of the armies taking soldiers with them I disagree, at least the navy commanded by Thalian)) |

((I had not read that you had wiped out a barracks. If I had, I would have said something earlier. Which was why I said it now when you brought it to my attention. Even a minimal garrison for such a city would be 10 thousand. Perhaps closer to 9 thousand due to the casualties you've caused so far. As for armies taking troops, I disagree with you. The armies which have passed through Ordail have not mentioned taking troops. Since these forces were commanded by Rudder, Chadden and Lathaon and they did not mention taking troops, I think that should be clear enough. As for the navy force, Thalian took a fleet, and the sailors who were part of that fleet, but the sailors are not part of the garrison of the city. He might have taken additional troops, but he's made no reference to taking them from the garrison of the city.)) |

((Alright, let's say the barracks I took out was for the navy and dock watch and the reason I took them out so easily is because their numbers were few since many of them are with Thalian. The four barracks the four Seekers are moving against however do, as you said, consist of more than two thousand men each. Then there are still a few alive on the walls in the north and west, as well as a few patrolling the northern and western parts of city which my men have ignored. And also, I was in command when the army of Weissland left Ordail , but that is just detail picking so nevermind))

((Ok yeah, I can agree on all of that.)) The Seekers moved through the city like shadows. They were experts of their craft. Nord was heading south-west. He turned another corner and headed into an alley. Ordail was an important city which made it a large target for enemies. Long ago secret tunnels were built in the city which led to each of the four garrison barracks. The Seekers knew of them and would all be using the tunnels to enter the barracks from within. Nord walked half way along the thin alley and turned to face the wall of a building. He pressed his palm against a particular stone and a pully system hidden within the building's wall was activated. Part of the wall turned slightly to reveal a hole with a thick rope to climb down into the tunnel. He slipped into the gap and began lowering himself down the robe even as the wall closed behind him. The only light was down in the tunnel below where a torch was maintained at either end of the tunnel. |

"What should we do until Viljam arrives," Foren asked Peter. "Take your men down to the docks and to the port mayor's house," Peter said. "Sergeant Mortem and I will hold this position, while Vivien looks for unusual activity in the city." Foren nodded and ordered his men to follow him. |

Moyra moved around the room. "I don't like this, sir!" she snapped. "We are waiting for our enemies to make their move, but it should be clear enough that there move has already been made." "We are waiting for the soldiers to be armed and ready." replied Xazkil. "It would be foolish to make any moves of our own until we have the full strength available to us. Believe me, mage; you are not the only one who grows tired of waiting. Our enemies have a lot to answer for." |

Nord reached the end of the tunnel and passed the correct signal up to the guards above. There was a small rope with a bucket at this end of the tunnel, and on a small alcove of stone sat seven rocks with a symbol carved in each. The signal required two specific rocks to be placed in the bucket and a small bell rung. The guards at the top opened the hatch far above him and one began pulling the rope up. The man quickly checked it and then called down "You're clear to pass, we're sending the rope down." Nord took a step back as the heavier robe was cast down so he could climb up. A couple of minutes later he was within the barracks and the tunnel had been resealed. He said to the guards "The city is being infiltrated and attacked, where is your commanding officer?" The second guard said "Captain Laurie is in his office, end of this corridor, take a left and its the second door on the right." Nord rushed off and when he found the captain's office he knocked and walked in before the officer had a chance to reply. Nord said "Captain, I have orders from my Seeker Officer. The Realmer wounded were playing possum, they were an infiltration force and have captured the docks and the gate. We believe they are opening the gates to allow the larger Realm force access to the city. I need you to mobilise all your men right now. The remaining garrison of the city is to move to the central barracks so that a defence can be formed." The captain, a thin man in his late thirties, took all of this in and stood up at once. He was wearing his armour and his sword was in its scabbard. He said "Very well Seeker. I'll have my men up and moving within the next five minutes." Both men rushed out into the corridor and the captain began issuing orders to his sergeants. As they walked Nord said "We need to do this discreetly as the infiltration force is still within the city and could be watching the barracks. That was why I used the tunnel." Captain Laurie replied "Yes, well, they won't know what's going on while we are inside but once we move out there is little which can be done about the noise of two thousand five hundred men moving through the city." Nord asked "Is that all of the men this barracks holds?" The army officer nodded "Yes. Each barracks is occupied by two thousand five hundred, although some of the other barracks will have had some of those men at the docks and on the walls. That brings the numbers down a bit, but the wounded Realmers were not in too great numbers, I'd guess they only targeted specific objectives and parts of the walls are still held by our city watch." Nord said "They will need to fend for themselves until we can gather the main force. We are also trying to find as many sailors as possible to aid in the defence." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The other Seekers heading to the barracks had concealed themselves in the same way, using the secret tunnels to get inside. This let the already stealthy soldiers maintain the element of surprise which the enemy thought they had. In the central barracks Captain Markris had roused his two thousand and five hundred men in quick order. They waited inside the barracks for the order to move out. As the other troops were moving to the central barracks the troops already there would wait to give the others time to near their position. In the north barracks Captain Danron had his two thousand and one hundred men at the ready and began to move them out of the barracks and south to the central barracks at double-time. The south-east barracks contained only two thousand men, the other five hundred being stationed on the wall for the watch, many of whom were assumed dead already. Captain Winbourne twitched his moustache as he stood and watched his men rushing about the barracks preparing weapons and armour. Once they were ready the doors to the barracks opened and they marched out quickly heading directly north. When they got to the centre of the city they would approach the central barracks from the east to avoid potential bottlenecks with the other converging troops. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Seeker sent to the taverns had a much different mission. Carefully he skulked from shadow to shadow, moving as gracefully as a cat, ever alert. He stayed away from the docks and the gates, it was too risky to operate in those areas even though the docks contained a number of drinking establishments. In the central and northern area of the city before the docks began he moved stealthily into various pubs and taverns and Inns, too many to mention the names. He spoke quietly and carefully with barkeeps and cooks. With each one he was establishing a small but growing group of sailors both from the on leave Navy men and merchant sailors who recognised the trouble of an enemy force taking over the port city. They armed themselves with whatever they had, knives, cutlass, cudgels and whatever was to hand. The Seeker had made sure they would all stay within their respective building until he returned. He would do this once he was certain he had as many willing troops as he could get without raising an alarm. When he reached the final tavern he waited until the men were ready and then they moved out into the streets to head back south to the central barracks, gathering the other sailors as they went. All told the Seeker had gathered two hundred and thirty sailors. They were ready for a fight, their city and its people were in danger and they were needed. |

Vivien Led turned his head to see one of the Realmer soldiers, one of those who did not what was truly in motion, appear around a corner. The man was breathing heavily. "What is it, Larson?" the sergeant asked him, as Viven came towards them both. "They are marching from their barracks," Larson said. "They know of our doings and are readying themselves to either strike or defend themself properly." "Where are they headed?" Viven asked watching the barracks they were stationed close by. As they talked the main doors suddenly opened up, and fully prepared and armed Weisslanders marched out in disiplined order. They did not waste any time and began to move north through the city in immediate fashion. The Realmers and loyalists to the Dark Council hid themselves in the shadows of the corner. If they were spotted they would not stand a chance because of the numerical difference. Vivien grabbed the shoulder with a strong grip. The sergeant winced in pain, and Vivien cursed inside. He always forgot how humans actually were. "Bring word to Peter Kradensis about this," he said. "Quickly. All of you move." The Realmers moved out, westward through the city. Vivien Led waited until they all had disappeared before he threw himself against one of the house walls in the street, quickly climbed up like a trained cat and followed the Weisslanders soldiers across the roof tops. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Doman stood alone in the room that belonged to the former port mayor of Ordail. He played with a small silver dagger in his belt with his green fingers. It was a risky ploy he had dared here, he thought to himself, as his skin slowly began to transform itself. |

Xazkil raised his head as a Seeker entered. "Sir," began the man, saluting, "the garrison is on the move. Our soldiers have been armed and stand ready." The officer pondered what his next move should be. "Disperse Seekers throughout this city. Get the civilians outside. The Realmers would not dare to harm our innocents, unless they wish to invoke a full-blown war once more." Moyra nodded. "Yes. With the entire city made public, the infiltrators will be forced to remain hidden. We can use this time to secure the city." The Seeker bowed. "It shall be done." Minutes later, ten Seekers were moving through the city. Each took ten guards with them for protection; Xazkil knew he could not afford losses to his Seeker force. Slowly but surely, the civilians were being brought into the streets, under the impression that all homes were being searched for an escaped criminal. They would remain outside until ordered otherwise. |

Peter Kradensis moved through the streets close to the docks. He turned to one of his assistants. They were dressed in black clothing, just like Peter himself was now. They were believed to be assistants, adjutants and captains, but in reality the were acolytes. The apprenctices in the dark magic which Peter Kradensis teached them. "Go and bring words to Sergeant Mortem to stay low with his men. Tell him to send the rest of the loyal Realmers to Foren Heften, they are to attack the Port Mayor's building and capture the Port Mayor. He is the priority now." As the servant disappeared in the shadows of the streets, Peter turned to the rest of his men. "We will stay low now," he said. "Follow." |

The troops from each barracks had reached the central barracks. As they did so the troops within the central barracks marched out to join them. The sailors were amongst them and additional weapons in the armoury were passed out so that the sailors were better armed than before. The soldiers took up defensive positions around the barracks and cut off all of the streets leading to it. Under the watchful eyes of their captains, they waited for further orders. Nord left the other four Seekers there and made his way back to the Inn to inform the Seeker Officer. He was surprised to see the streets full of the citizens but maintained his discreet nature. He entered the Inn again and quickly went to the room where the officer was. As Nord saluted he said "All garrison forces have gathered at the central barracks and are now in defensive positions until they receive further orders from you sir. We have nine thousand, three hundred and thirty men apart from the Seekers and whatever troops still holding the unattacked portions of the walls. But given the numbers missing from the barracks that is likely only between two and five hundred on the walls that might still be alive." |

Sergeant Mortem received the message from Peter soon enough. Soon he had found a sergeant, who was loyal to the White Realm, and gave him the order to move towards the Port Mayor's house to aid Captain Heften. With him, in addition to his own men, he were also to take a specific group of other men as well, who coincidentally enough all were loyal to the White Realm and did not know of the true mastermind behind all this. As soon as the sergeant had departed north, Mortem gave the order to retreat to his men along the wall. They were to exit the city through the main gates, leaving it open as they left however. It would be a little time left before the Weisslanders arrived. -------------------------------------------------- Vivien Led watched the Weisslanders troops with interest from the rooftops. He licked his lips and his pointed teeth. How frustrating of Doman to insist on having a campaign of secrecy and stealth. If not it would had been a glorius carnage down there at this moment. |

Nord replied "Yes sir. I will have forces sent to reclaim the docks and gates and lock the city down. From there we can scour the city for any Realmers within. I'll have the word circulated that prisoners are to be taken." He saluted and left the Inn, returning at a run to the central barracks. Valuable minutes were lost as the large force was given its orders and organised. Four thousand men under the command of two Seekers, one being Nord himself, and Captain Laurie and Captain Winbourne quickly marched south towards the gates, presenting a solid front of spear and shield. Two other Seekers and Captain Danron led three thousand men, including the sailors north to the docks. The rest of the force remained at the central barracks under command of Captain Markris along with the final Seeker. From here they could act as a reserve if one of the other forces needed it and prevent any Realmer forces within the city from easily outmanoeuvring the two Weissland forces as they marched on their objectives. |

Moyra returned to the window. "This is not a good turn of events, sir. There is something else in play here. I do not think the Realmers are truly responsible for what is happening." "Responsible or not, they are taking part. We must not allow Ordail to fall into enemy hands." replied Xazkil. |

The force marching north met no resistance, and arrived at the docks. Captain Danron ordered his men to spread out and search the docks. Each search party contained a few sailors who knew the docks very well. The southern force had further to go to get to the gates.
