Joseph Nord, one of the Seekers in the Inn, entered the room silently. He spoke, his sudden appearance would have made others jump, but not Seekers "The Inn is secure. The others have left to check outside, sir. They will return via the cellar window in the back alley, I have posted a guard in the cellar to let them in when they do return." |

Xazkil nodded. "Good. I need information, Seeker. I need it as soon as I can get it. If our worst fears are true, then there will be much to be done." Something about the Seekers that was a little-known fact; Seekers did not know the names of other Seekers. In fact, only Mordain and the highest-ranking among Weissland were privy to the names of the Seekers. For the best way to remain unknown was to have no name. |

Nord said "As soon as the scouting team returns I will send them to you. In the meantime I will make sure the rest of the Seekers are prepared for your commands." Nord turned sharply and walked out of the room as soundlessly as he had entered. Once out of the room, he began to walk through the Inn, checking on the positions of the other Seekers and whatever duties they were attending to. He made his way down through the Inn towards the cellar. The two Seekers outside might be returning shortly, and Nord wanted them to get their information to the Seeker officer as soon as possible. |

Xazkil watched the Seeker leave. If he wished, he could learn the man's name, but he respected the code of secrecy between the Seekers. For the present, he had to wait. He had to wait to see what the other Seekers would report. He needed information before he could act. |

Foren Heften and his small group of trusted men moved slowly through the thick forest south of Ordail. As they reached the edge they sat down in the undergrowth and studied the distance between them, the hills and the southern gate of Ordail. Foren Heften had still problems believing what had happened. The hawk had delivere the news to Dedrik alright, them recognizing the handwriting and signature of Peter Kradensis. Kradensis had written that as soon as the few Realmers had entered Ordail and their transports had left they had been put behind bars and held as hostages. Many had been killed and Hound was apperently tortured for information. Foren shook his head. They had come to the aid of Weissland and now this. More war, more treachery, more blodshed. No matter, they would pay back tenfold. The army that had come with the Realm was more than capable of taking down Ordail. The problem was that Dedrik and Foren both wanted to do it without harming the civil population, and without unneccessary losses to their own men. Kradensis had written in the letter that he would manage to get someone out on the other side of the wall, to meet with Foren and Dedrik. So Foren would wait for now. |

The two Seekers moved individually throughout the city, staying to the shadows and remaining out of sight. Everything was quiet; everything was very quiet. One of them went down towards the docks, hoping to speak with the city watch and see if they had anything to report. But the city watch were nowhere to be seen when he arrived. The harbour was filled with armed men, none of whom wore Weissland uniforms. And the place stank of death. Without hesitation, the Seeker turned and made his way back towards inn. He had to report to the officer; Ordail was under attack. ((Are there any soldiers still alive in Ordail?)) |

Nord walked down the final set of stone steps into the cellar. There were many crates of wine in the cellar as well as barrels of ale. It had been made clear by the officer, and by Nord as well that the alcohol was not to be touched. Call it a gut feeling, call it instinct, but Nord had known that something was going to happen here. He just did not know what. Ordail was the largest port in Weissland, and with Weissland's naval superiority over most foes, the city was a big target. He walked over silently to the Seeker posted here and said "Any sign of them yet?" The Seeker replied "They are not in the alley yet." Nord nodded "I will wait for them as well." |

The Seeker who had travelled to the docks moved quickly, yet silently, down the alley and slipped into the cellar through the window, closing it soundlessly behind him. He looked to the two Seekers stationed there. "We are under attack. I have to report to the officer." |

The Seeker nodded and went upstairs, walking into the planning room. Xazkil looked up as the Seeker entered, and Moyra turned to face him. "Report, Seeker." "Yes, sir. I hae grave news; we are under attack. The guards at the docks have been slain." Beneath his mask, Xazkil's eyes went wide. "Word must be sent to the nearby cities to call for reinforcements, and we must rally the remaining guards within the city. Dispatch Seekers to the gates and walls and bring me information, as well as ordering the guards to arm themselves and prepare for combat. We need to take back the docks and find out where these enemies have centered themselves." |

Peter Kradensis looked around in the southern gatehouse. They had taken the Weisslanders by surprise here as well, but despite of this they had lost a fair bunch of men. And not just pathetic Realmers, but men who been loyal to the case of the Dark Council. That was a needle in the heel, Peter thought, but they neeeded to deal with those losses later. Everyone could be replaced, Doman always said. The sergeant Mortem looked up from the dead City Watch lieutenant and saw that Peter Kradensis had entered the gatehouse. "Our best soldiers are moving across the walls at this very moment," he said, "doing their work." Peter nodded, "Time to open the board properly. Lift the banner of the Realm. I will lift the fog so that the Realmers outside can see it. Send forth a messenger. Time to let the White War spring to life once more. It lasted way too short for my liking." |

As Nord watched from the window, he saw the other Seeker approaching stealthily. As the man neared the window, Nord and the other Seeker guard pulled up the window to allow him to slid into the cellar. He said "I need to make my report now." Nord nodded and said "I'll come with you." He turned to the guard and said "Secure the window and the rest of the cellar." The guard nodded as Nord and the Seeker scout rushed upstairs to the room where the Seeker officer was. |

Foren Hoften stood up in the thick undergrowth and peered towards Ordail. He grabbed the shoulder of one of the men beside him, "Quick. Go and bring message to Dedrik Argnar and Viljam Heglin. That is one of our men without doubt. We must be ready to move now." The man nodded and turned around and ran into the forest. As Foren continued to look towards Ordail he could see that the fog was clearing enough so he could see the battlements properly. A torch seemed to have been lit on the gatehouse, litting up the area properly so that Foren could see a banner flying from the gatehouse. A banner of the White Realm. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sergeant Mortem quickly leaped up the stairs from the gatehouse. A few Weisslanders lay here and there. They had been taken completely by surprise and despite them managing to kill of of Mortem's men they had been unable to call alarm. The warning bell hung unused and silent. Mortem looked along the walls, but his eyes could impossible pierce the thick fog. Peter Kradensis was maybe one of the weaker among the higher ranking magic users in the Dark Council, far from the level of Lord Cyrush or the twin sorcerers serving Lord Rayrn. But he certainly knew a few handy tricks despite maybe not having much when it comes to pure, energtic strength. |

Viljam Heglin waited behind a tall hill with his company of cavalry. When the man whom Foren Heften had sent a few moments ago reached them and gave the message, Viljam Heglin quickly sent him onwards to bring message to Dedrik Argnar. Viljam turned and looked at his men. Four thousand were assembled here, ready to move forward. Mostly soldiers of the western parts of the White Realm, who had not taken part in the War against Weissland earlier. A few knights of the White City who had been sent with them as well. Nonethless they had little amount of joy when it come to their relationship with Weissland as of late. They could not truly understand that the weisslanders had turned on them again, but nonethless. They would hit back. Viljam gave orders to unfold the banners of the Realm, the White City, Lord Sunnycool and Hound. Then the force moved forward, while the messenger brougth word onwards to the ships and army camp in the bay further south. -------------------------------------------------------------- At the same time Foren Heften led a small force of scouts quickly over the plains leading up to the gates. He could see that they were slowly being opened. It could all be a trap, but he doubted anyone had spotted his men already. That banner had been lifted by Realmers for sure. The moved switly and bent their head low. There could be weisslanders still alive on the walls, but Foren hoped not. |

Nord said "Deception or not they hold the docks and the gates. Their main force is camped somewhere to the west. What if they took the gates to allow all those troops to enter the city? We need to get Seekers to all of the barracks and rouse whatever is left of the garrison. Perhaps find any sailors as well for additional forces." |
