Today i tried to see wat it would look like...i used a spreadsheet....and made every square square....(each one represented 1 inch) then wrote which model was in each square (by putting a letter for each diferent type) it would work fairly well as the maps for ldttw...so we know who we are charging....and we can tell if we are in range for shooting...then we send it to the enemy....and they write where they moved their troops and then they send it to you....wen there are 2 enemies beside eachother on the spreadshhet the r fighting...ect.... this will revolutionize the world of LDTTW as we know it

hey thats a good idea man that should work
|
"Should you ever feel agony for the loss of your Brothers due to enemy guns, bear through it with a stern smile and let your enemy know that you will get into combat soon enough. His judgement cannot be avoided! Should your charge falter under heavy resistence, roar your devotion in His name and amount whatever strength you have left at one enemy point and crush it utterly! Let the enemy feel your pain by turning their's into agony! Should you lay beaten and dying on the field, laugh with pride for even in death our enemies will fear us, leave them with a scar that will haunt them till the time of their retribution!" - Chaplain Valorus | |

and we could probably do the whole battle with spreadsheets...not having to use the models or anything... I'm working on starting positions with an army that I might be playing with tomorrow against KoR...with LoM as the GM...I am almost positive this would work without the models or batle field....accept there is no terrain in the battles as that could be very confusing

I think you should set out the battlefield at home with your models too as it would be easier for you to play the battle. However its entirely up to you of course. |

using the models would take longer...but would add to the intensity of the game...and 1 thing the spreadsheet doesnt do rite is show how many ppl one person can be surounded by...on the chart it would let the model be surounded by 8 models....but in the game....a basic troop can only be surounded by 6 guys....just something to keep in mind while playing...

Okay there's one thing- that would take aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss!!!!!! I don't think I could be bothered to play like that except perhaps combat patrol, but still! Why not use a map, and like for every inch you move, press arrow keys like 3 times or whatever in other words nudge it, but use excel anyway so you can use the squares for terrain and select symbols separately. That would work! |

For the diagonal movement you could just do what they do in DaD, double penalty, so you count as moving 3' diagonaly if you would normally move 6'. |
