The Battle Report

Turn One: Both armies charged towards each other. The Dwarves, with their slower move rate, used their move the best they could, by widening their flanks and moving the Dwarf Archers towards the hill, where they could get a better view of the battle. The War Mumak thundered ahead of the Main Haradrim Army, with only Suladan on horse and the 7 Harad Raiders able to match its awesome speed.

Turn Two: Evil Had priority, but Balin spent a point of his precious might, allowing him and the Khazâd Guard to move at double speed, as he called a heroic move. Balin and the Khazâd Guard were meant to hold up the Mumak for as long as possible, with a single Khazâd Guard and Balin attacking it, holding it in combat for as long as possible, but they were still a good move or two away from the Rampaging creature. The Haradrim Raiders moved a stone's throw away from the Dwarf Archers, seeing them as easy targets on the hill. Priority would be crucial next turn.

Turn Three: Good won priority, with a total of 14 Dwarves charged the Raiders, two on one. the remaining 4 Dwarf Archers moved around the Haradrim Raiders, and made base contact with Suladan. The Khazâd Guard made contact with the Mumak, five of which and Balin, with Durin's Axe, engaged the beast in combat. In three combats, the Dwarves lost, and 2 were slain, but the 4 other conflicts went the way of the Hammer and Anvil, with 2 Harad Raiders killed, and two made horseless. Suladan won his combat, but failed to wound either of the Dwarves, despite his fountain of might. The Mumak suffered a different fate, losing 3 wounds, two to the skill of Balin with Durin's axe. The Muhűd passed all 3 courage tests, but used both his might points in the process, meaning there would be no stampeding next turn, to the relief of both players!!

Turn four: Evil won priority, and the Harad Raiders charged the Dwarf Archers. Seeing that his warriors were in trouble, Dain Ironfoot, King of Erebor, spent a precious point of might, and along with 8 Dwarf Warriors, he charged into the Harad Raiders. The Mumak thundered into the main core of Dwarves, squashing 3 on the move! Gimli reacted quickly, spending a might point to move towards the hulking beast, and with his 4 Khazâd guard companions, he assisted in the combat with the Mumak. With the Harad Bowmen now within shooting distance of the Dwarves, in the shoot phase, the sky was blackened with arrows. 9 found their mark, and 4 were killed. Angered by the death of their fellows, the Dwarves killed many Haradrim in the fight phase. The two Harad Raiders who had been unhorsed the previous turn were slain by Dwarvish skill, and another Harad Raider was slain, this time by Dain Ironfoot. Suladan killed 3 Dwarves, and spent a point of might to make a heroic combat, in which he was wounded by Dain Ironfoot himself! The heroic move made by Gimli paid dividends in the combat with the Mumak, as 2 wounds were caused by his deadly axe, although he had to use both his last might points in the process, and another by that of a Khazâd Guard. The Mahud passed two courage tests, but failed the last, and the Mighty Mumak would stampede the next turn.

Turn Five: The Mumak stampeded, and I made it move as far away from combat as possible, however, it squashed three Dwarves and 5 Haradrim Bowmen. 7 models in the Howdah fell to their doom. With Dain and his Khazâd Guard now protecting the archers, I moved the Archers around the back of the Harad Cavalry, meeting up with the remaining warrior behind Suladan. With the Mumak now away from danger, the Dwarves and Haradrim with spears clashed in an epic męlée, with all 15 Haradrim in combat! The remaining Harad Archers fired at the Dwarves, despite them being in combat, and killed two, but several arrows went astray of their true targets, and 3 Haradrim were killed. The tide of the fight phase was against the Haradrim. Many were outnumbered by the bulk of Dwarves, and several were unlucky enough to be facing Gimli! Despite this, Gimli lost both his points of fate, and 7 Dwarves were cut down, 2 of which were Khazâd Guard, in return for a single Haradrim! The last of the Harad Raiders were killed, and Suladan bit the Dust, wounded 7 times by Dain and his Dwarves.

Turn Six: Evil won priority, and the Mumak came thundering back towards the tide of Dwarves and Haradrim. Scott thought that if he would charge towards the Dwarves, he would kill many of his own troops as well. With Dain and the Archers now unopposed by Haradrim, he moved the hulking beast towards the King of Erebor. In the shoot phase, the sky rained death, as all of the Dwarves fired on the Haradrim. 4 Dwarf archers were killed, but the Dwarven archery was even more efficient, with 9 arrows piercing the armour of Haradrim! In the fight phase, the Haradrim were reduced to 50%, but the two Hasharii each killed 2 Dwarves. One of the Hasharii spent a point of might to make a heroic move, but Balin won the roll off, after spending his second might point to assist his cousin. Balin managed to kill 2 Haradrim with Durin’s Axe, and his example inspired the Dwarves, with four more Harad warriors dead.

Turn Seven: Now reduced to half strength, 5 Haradrim fled away from the combat, towards the nearest board edge, and the Mahud failed his courage test, and the Mumak sped off the Board! With just the two Hasharii, 1 Archer and 9 spearmen, the Haradrim army was all but destroyed. In the shoot phase, the precise archery of the Dwarves slew 4 more Haradrim, one of which the banner bearer, and in the fight phase, Gimli and Balin, with their two axes, slew a Hasharii, and the other Dwarves killed the other.

My Comments

“I think the Haradrim played well, they were outnumbered from the start, but they nearly managed to reduce the Dwarves to half strength. I don’t think the Mumak and the Banner bearer were as useful as Scott would have liked, but he did manage to knock a chink in the armour of the Dwarves!”

Scott’s Comments

“Alex played well; he made the combat phase very tight, meaning that if I wanted to reach his heroes, I would mean I would have to trample on my own men! I think I played OK, but I have played much better. I think that I wasted points on the Banner bearer and Suladan, both having extremely little effect on the Battle. Me and Alex have played The Lord of the Rings for a long time now, but I have only beaten him once! Next time, Hinsley!”

from this report that i found at GW we can now know that alex has a sweet dwarf army....and we shouldnt use a mumak against him

we also know that he doesnt understand heroic moves....cuz he wrote that he moved at double speed wen he did it

we will annalyse this further begore we battle him

:P

HIC, I demand that you bludgeon yourself with a rock until your mental status returns to the level of a rapist who calls back to apologise! Your use of elaborate language and words is making me uneasy. Although, I am somewhat relieved to see that your punctuation remains shit-based.
