My favourite- Gimli or Legolas- they're really funny!

HIC, I demand that you bludgeon yourself with a rock until your mental status returns to the level of a rapist who calls back to apologise! Your use of elaborate language and words is making me uneasy. Although, I am somewhat relieved to see that your punctuation remains shit-based.

Gimli and Legolas funny?... sorry for saying this but the way the characters are in the last movie just makes me angry most of the time...

by the way... is this "Best Character-discussion" based on the book or the movie

Just because you think they are not funny in the 3rd film (Which I think they are, especially with Gimli's one liners in the EE), but the pair are brilliant in The Two Towers, as they are in the Return of the King!

I dunno Ariakas. Maybe just overall....

well I agree with Ariakas. Legolas and Gimli in the movies were just a little "spice" so that there was some comdy in it after Merry and Pippin got "serious" lol. I don't see them as funny nonetheless. Gimli at some points (movies only) but never Legolas.

I like their extraordinary Elf/Dwarf friendship, not their comedy

Well, if you're all gonna gang up on me and beat me to a pulp, I change it to Aragorn and Imrahil, although he wasn't in the film :(

"That still only count's as one!"...

alright, I laughed at it when I first saw it... but it is un-realistic, and putting comedy in war is something directors should not do.. don't think Tolkien would like it either

No - and I agree with you, but you must see my and his point. For people who watch LotR and that aren't thinking too much about it, but still love them - re-maxi for instance and my father. Such scenes spice it up a little so that it isn't serious all the time. Of course the way Legolas killed that Mumâk was quite insane, but it was action- and adrenalinefull and much exciting. Then Gimli says that and people love and feel some comedy.

I agree that laughing and war isn't a good combination, but Peter Jackson does it for those who aren't depth LotR-fans and that love action and then he hits the bull's eye and gets money :)

Allthough I still agree since I am more hardcore fan of LotR than most of my friends who have seen the movies ;)

Well, it is for kids as well, but I haven't seen many 7 year olds reading the book.

Why? Because of the Ringwraiths? The warriors of the Death? Or maybe Frodo and Gollum or what?
