Rick only gave a nod to Roy, confirming his order on silence. He and Beth then followed him, keeping their eyes about and followed him to the labs.

The Labs, like the main lobby, was also devoid of life, but it was obvious something had happened. A table was knocked over in one of the lab rooms and its contents were spilled onto the floor, where a stained, paneled floor was. The shelves and desks were nicely cleaned and its contents were nicely stored. It was possible that there were automatic cleaners in the room that made sure dust did not get onto things. Some lab coats were hung onto the wall, and looked like they were just cleaned. On the desks were several still active computers that no longer needed logging in, as if someone forgot to log out.

Seeing the situation, Beth kept on guard and made her way to one of the computers, observing it a little before pressing the enter key, and seemed to gain access as the computer addressed her as Professor Andrews.

The Recreation room was also in nicely order and devoid of life. The holovod was still on, showing news from Telos as there was a smell in the air. The cafeteria that was nearby had several plates on tables, as if everyone just got up from lunch and left. The smell was coming from the microwave, and the stains inside as someone forgot their food while warming it up and it exploded into a mess inside. Adding to it that it is days old, the smell was not the best. However, the vending machines and water cooler seemed to be working in fine order.

“What’s on your mind, Katarn?” Killian asked, gesturing for him and the others to search the rec room and cafeteria. As he went to look around, he waited for Katarn’s question.

Unknown to them, small cameras were watching the soldiers and Jedi. The Trandoshan Warlord was watching down below on the lowest level, and he could feel the presence of several of them. Mostly in particular, he was focused on Kelly, Rick, Sloan and Lain.

“Lock those areas down, force them to us. Once they reach Level Two, separate these four from the rest.” Xentar ordered.

(Lockdown will start on my next post.)

Kelly moved up near Beth, "Anything on what possibly turned this place into a ghost town?" she asked looking at the only evidence, in the room that something happened. The feeling of something clouding her senses also un-nerved her, and every ounce of her being told her they were walking into a trap.

-----------

Katarn looked back at the Jedi and feeling he couldn't be heard continued. "This op feels wrong to me sir. why are we being sent in to secure a Republic lab, when we usually nuke these places when something like this happens, to make sure whatever killed the egg heads doesn't escape. And were securing it with Jedi no less this is a Military op not theirs."

Turning sharply from his direction, Roy shot Kelly a look of annoyance. Silently he drew close to the jedi knight, his voice was just below a hoarse whisper and has lined with anger as he spoke.

" What part of Silent did you not get? You Jedi can talk with your mind can't you? Why don't you kriffing use it and stick a sock in it. "

Turning from the Jedi before she could get a word in edge wise, Roy moved over to Beth as she turned on the computer. Motioning for her to step aside, Roy deftly began searching through the computer to see if there were any signs of forced entry or why there was no staff present.

Though he was unable to find anything of true value, he was able to find that someone had tampered with the stored files on the shared mainframe. Unknown to him however, the majority of the tampered files were unaccessible to him through the current terminal.

Silently he motioned for Beth to look at what he had found on the screen, his goal was to make it known to the others in his squad that an intelligent force had bee behind the disappearence of the staff and the shutting down of the research facility.

Deft to Roy's order to Kelly (save for a side step to avoid his passing) The Rattataki's mind quickly moved with logical machinations. Sloan observed the situation with a grave look on her face. As Roy moved to the computer she followed, cloak sliding with her steps like a drifting ghost. She scanned the screen with her eyes, leaning over his shoulder then leaning back into her impeccable posture with her hand on her chin.

Security records...best thing to find.

Lain winced as her padawan once again broadcast'd her thoughts.

She then split from her group momentarily to investigate the rec room, quiet, still as if everyone had left in a hurry-...but not before tidying up. She paused to turn off the playing holovid then listened expectantly for whimpering stow aways; or any other sign of ...she hated to use the word: survivors. Though she could sense no one, it meant little, there were ways to cloak ones presence and she would not be caught off guard by an illusion of safety. She moved onto the cafeteria where there were plenty of places to hide.

Killian released a small sigh when he found nothing in the room. If there was a trail leading somewhere, it was cold as ice here. He then turned to Katarn, hoping he was investigating while talking as he crossed his arms.

"This isn’t the time to be picky, Soldier. We need their help as much as they need us. You're entitled to your opinion, but we --"

He stopped when suddenly the holovid suddenly snapped to a blank blue image, and stayed that way as a ring was heard. First thought was that it was a bomb and motioned for Katarn to look at the source of the holo screen to find it. However, there was nothing in it that would cause a lethal explosion should Katarn go to look.

Beth moved over, about to speak before stopping when she heard Roy scolding Kelly about talking and made sure not a peep escaped her. When she and Rick went to look at what they had found, they only got but a glance before it went to a blank blue image as well with the same ringing. It stayed like that for several seconds, locking out all controls. Rick was at the ready, now getting that feeling that they were being watched as he looked behind them to see no one.

And then, starting with the first team, then to the second team, an image appeared for no more then two seconds.

Posted Image

The image then vanished and the screens went offline before the attack happened.

The exact image was then sent directly to the minds of the soldiers and jedi, flashing brightly in a booming loudness. Anyone who was not expecting a mind attack through The Force would be suffering from a rather pain to the head. Alarms then suddenly blared as reinforced doors started to close off other parts of the labs and other rooms.

"Containment breach! Emergency lockdown commencing. Please evacuate the premises."

A monotonic female tone came out of the speaker system before it soon became apparent that both team one and two were slowly being sealed into where they were. Rick caught on as he started to recover from the mind blast, grabbing Beth by the hand and pulling her onto her feet after she had fallen.

"We need to move, Willson!" Rick yelled over the alarms.

Killian had seen the alarms starting to go off as emergency doors started to close around them, setting only one path for them. Gaining his bearings from the sudden mind attack, quickly getting the idea that more then just terrorists have raided this place, he shouted to his squad.

"Drop what you're doing and move!" Killian demanded, taking lead and heading through the only path that was open to them. Like the other team, he was completely unaware that they were being lured straight to the conveniently placed tram that would quickly take them underground to the secret laboratory where the true threats laid.

Katarn was investigating the kitchen area as Killian replied to his inquiry. when the Holovid poped up and headed to the sources as instructed only finding a projector shook his had at killian before the immense pain hit him collapsing to the floor, holding his head but just as fast as the pain had hit him he was obeying the order he barley heard he moved as fast as he could through the open door behind Killian, holding his head with one hand his rifle in the other. "I'm not one for told you so but...." Katarn said in pain as he kept moving

--------------

When Roy snapped on her it took every ounce of control from not dropping her blaster and slicing the solder in two with her saber, Beth had found something possibly important and she was wondering what it was, especially if it was relevant to finding answers. when the screen went blue every fiber in her body tensed up readying for anything that could happen and when the face appeared on the screen she knew they weren't alone and knew her bad feelings about the place was right, but she was semi prepared for a mind attack when it happened causing her head to hurt but not as much as it would have, and allowed her to send a mind attack of her own back, and when she heard Rick yell for them to move she followed behind seeing the doors sealing behind them and the mono-toned mechanical voice was speaking things were starting to look bad.

(( Alright, so not to bag on you or anything, I just wanted to know your thought process as to how computers shutting down would cause Kelly have all her mental defenses up. For all the group knows it could have just been a failsafe causing the computer to shut down after being accessed illegally, as well as the picture that flashed. It could have been just a little personal thing that the computers owner used, they would have no way of knowing of any danger, let alone an imminent mental attack.))

" Then get moving! All of you!"

As Roy yelled in response he quickly shoved the computer and other objects off of the table he had been standing infront of. If it had not been equipped with small roller wheels on each corner of the bottom he would had not attempted what he was about to do. His erratic movements were due in part to the mental attack he had just endured. Throughout all the soldier had been through, having his mind attacked was not one of them, meaning it was taking a little longer for him to recover. The pain and disorientation did not stop the soldier however, Roy fought through it as he implemented his plan.

With a grunt of exertion, Roy pushed the metal desk with all his might to give it high momentum as he ran after the rest of his squad. Running behind the desk and pushing as if he were pushing a shopping cart, Roy gave it one final shove before sliding beside it underneath the shutting door. Positioning himself so that he was infront of the still moving desk, Roy stopped the piece of furniture just as it came underneath the door.

His objective was to try and halt the doors dropping, effectively giving him and his squad an exit should they need one. Of course he had no way of knowing how much the door weighed, or if the desk would be sturdy enough to withstand the doors weight and downforce. If it failed then Roy would just have to think of another exit strategy, his time of the front lines had taught him to never go anywhere without having a quick way out.

Getting up into a crouching position, Roy had his blaster rifle ready and aimed into the darkness beyond. Most of the lights had gone out due to the lockdown, only the warning klaxon lights that were flashing remained. The flashing light cast an eerie glow throughout the lab, causing his guard to be at its highest state.

" I still want silence, speak only when absolutely necessary. "

Roy's voice was just above a whisper as he spoke, and his eyes were fixed towards the unoccupied part of the hallway.

Feeling the sudden intense flash of harsh intent from Kelly, Sloan readied herself-if need be she would be forced to restrain or even injure the jedi should she attack (and explain to the council later) - it was such a strange and unforeseen feeling it made her suspicion of the dark side's involvement even more prevalent... and her trust in her ally waver.

But before she could voice it mentally her head whipped to the attention of the computer screen. Her lips moved wordless and her brow wrinkled with confusion.

Some sort of symbol?
-------------------------------------------------
Sensing the dis-ease and hearing the computer's monotonous "beeeeep" Lain hurried from the kitchen's door way and back to her commander's side- she paused only once in her sprint to catch a glimpse of the sharp green shape which flashed upon the vid in the rec room.

Before she could speak her eyes shut tightly from an unforeseen mind attack.
Wordlessly she turned her attention to the shutting doors with a pained expression and marched forward with one clenched hand forward.

Using the force she struggled to delay the fall of the door nearest to her team.

"Urgh!" She snarled.

"very poor choice of words..."

-------------------------------------------------------------

a sharp piercing pain seared insider Sloan's mind, causing her to recoil with a small outcry. stumbling she raced towards the rapidly descending door and slid beneath the weak support of the table slowing the descent. When she got to her feet, she turned to face it- using all her focus to try and hold back its fall in the hopes she could manage to hold it back long enough for her team to make it through- she was struggling.

"Containment Breach! Level Three! All personel evacuate contaminated areas and report to decontamination room. Sixty Seconds until purge of contaminated area."

The voice over the intercom once more spoke, and in some parts of the ceiling, and possibly others, small tubes emerged, almost like the end of a nozzle. What would come out was unknown, but it would give the teams clear ideas that they were meant for destroying anything that would cause a threat to the facility or was contagious. That meant toxic nerve gas, fire, liquid hydrogen, etc and Killian did not want to wait to find out.

"Double time it!"

Killian ordered, issuing for his team to go through the doors the Jedi were holding for them. He didn't want them to strain too much as he went into a sliding skid under the door and out the safe side as he waited for the others. While he did, he looked on ahead of the dark hall, noticing the flashing lights were leaving them a trail somewhere. They were being watched, and their host wanted them to go somewhere. Killian knew this sort of thing, the attacker had gained control of the facility, and could have killed them earlier if he or she desired, but instead seemed to want to play games.

When the door slammed onto the desk, it was obvious that it was not meant to hold a heavy door that sealed contaminations. It was straining, and they possibly had less then a minute to get through under it. Rick was the first to slide under it and through the otherside. When he looked down the hall of darkness, he adjusted his goggles to view nightvision. He saw nothing but the lights that seemed to be leading them to somewhere.

"Clear ahead."

Rick quietly said, loud enough just for him, Roy, Beth and Kelly to hear. Beth looked up at the nozzles on the ceiling, and knew whatever was to come out would be more then fatal as she was the next one under the door as the desk strained some. When the thought flashed to her, she realized Kelly had a lightsaber and only hoped she did not use it to cut the door down. Knowing this sort of lockdown, if the seal was broken, an even bigger lockdown would occur.

Kelly dove through the door just as closed behind her getting back to her feet sighing after she heard Roy's orders to stay quiet even though it was evident who ever was here knew exactly where they were and no amount of being quiet was going to fix that.

she was done with being stealthy. "you can stay with solder boy if you want apprentice me I'm going ahead on my own, and I'm going to confront the son of a (warning alarm) who locked us in here." she said pushing past the group, then double timing it down the hall following the leading lights down the hall. 'by the force is this annoying.' she thought to herself coming up on a tram station.

------------

Katarn made it through the door that the Jedi was holding and moved over to killian his head still hurting him. looking at the flashing lights leading down the hall. "I don't like this sir. It feels like were being herded." he said holding his head a bit.

" Suit yourself saber jockey. Don't expect any help from us when you find yourself needing it. Ill be sure to send a copy of my after battle report to your council when this operation is over.... "

Roy stated coldly as he checked his rifle for any damages that it might have sustained when he slid across the floor. His voice was again just above a whisper, but definitely loud enough for the disgruntled Jedi to hear him. Looking up towards the nozzles protruding from the ceiling, Roy motioned for the group to go down the only path they really had. Whatever was to come out of the nozzles, Roy didn't want to stay to find out.

Silently he moved down the same hall the woman who claimed to be a Jedi had gone. Honestly her behavior was quite unlike any Jedi Roy had personally met, quite the opposite really. But, the young soldier did not dwell on such things for long, and within seconds his mind was back soley focused on the mission at hand.

Once in the tram room Roy sweeped all its corners and possible ambush spots with the thermal and low light optics settings, making sure there was no one hiding in the shadows who could cause any potential harm to him or his squad. He cared nothing for Kelly, if she wanted to be on her own then that was her decision. She would not be aided by Roy himself, nor any of his squad members if he had anything to say about it. She was in her own squad in his eyes, effectively meaning she would have to rely on her own non-existent squad members for support if she got into a bind.

Sloan released the door and let it fall shut with a heavy pant, her face slightly reddened from the strain.

As Kelly passed She frowned. She had orders and wouldn't disobey on childish scorn but her fellow Jedi's dark tendencies were...concerning to say the least. As much as it bothered her to be the barer, It would be necessary to inform the council about her behavior. She refrained from contacting her master and resolved that when the teams inevitably converged they would have much to discuss. Pushing the thought to the back of her mind she allowed her eyes to roam discreetly up Roy's back before following him. Her loyalty was to the soldier's where she had been charged and she kept relatively close to their leader, speaking telepathically.

"I am sorry for her."

-------------------------------------

Lain somersaulted beneath the door and fluidly rose to a standing position on the other side,

"Phew!" She said, straightening her collar.

"I dare say...that was close."

The doors slammed shut, the desk Roy placed inbetween one was cut in half. Once the areas were locked down, gass immediatly started to spray into the sealed rooms. They continued to spray until they suddenly stopped.

At the tram station that Kelly rushed ahead to reach was two tram cars attached to eachother, enough to fit three, possibly four squads into. Still no signs of life in the area other then them, but the doors to the tram were open and the train was powered up. It was ready to go down underground to the main labs below.

When Killian reached it with his team, seeing Roy's team and the other team made it, the doors behind them suddenly slammed shut. They were now completly cut off from returning, and were now forced to proceed forward as the rest of level one was being cleared from whatever contamination was released.

"We are being herded, Corporal. We are not alone here, and chances are we're probably being watched now. Alright... everybody on board, we're heading down to find the source of this problem."

Killian ordered, going and boarding the train along with the other Team and Rick and Beth. As they boarded, Rick glanced towards Kelly with a blank expression, and spoke in a dead serious tone.

"You run off like that again in a dire situation, you better expect the unexpected."

"That's enough, what's this about?" Killian asked.

"Nothing, just Cross here does not seem to be too comfortable with following orders." Rick briefly explained.

"We can't afford any mistakes here, people. The teams stay as they are, no one splits and goes lone wolf. Am I clear?"

Killian stated, though he knew Lain, Rick, Beth and Roy wouldn't be playing hero anytime soon, but Cross and possibly the others would need this explained to them.

"Katarn, go to the head of the train and get this thing going to Level 2."

He said, not knowing the shape of the train, but hoping that it was intact. Thankfully, the train was not damaged in anyway, and would continue to be of service with little problems.

Kelly balled her fists she was having a hard time keeping from being angry in this place. something about it made her want to just snap, and the soldiers weren't making it easy, for her to keep calm. She was use to being alone she liked working alone, and this, this was uncomfortable for her.

she boarded the second train without a word to Killian she had a few colorful words for rick and re-muddles, but gave no sign of acknowledgment to the orders, she just quietly got on the tram. one thing she knew it was better to walk away, though the herding and being trapped in this facility didn't help things especially since right now she didn't particularly like anyone, in there little group.

Katarn saluted to Killian now feeling a lot better now that the head ache subsided. "Yes sir." he said heading to the first car and looking over the controls, finding the power and then the throttle control. "all systems green, and away we go next stop level two." he said over the comm's.

Being that the group seemed to have some down time for the moment, Roy decided it was the best time to share what information each squad was able to glean from the deserted research facility. Though he had no way of knowing if the tram was wired or not, at that point in time it wouldnt really matter what was said. Turning his attention to Killian as he spoke, Roy conveniently left out the salute to prevent the enemy from knowing who the true leader of the operation was if infact they were listening.

" My squad was able to locate several computer terminals in the lab that were still operational and logged in. Judging by the information therein... we were able to discern that someone, probably in the main security station, has tampered with most of the more critical files that are stored at this facility. Unfortunately I was unable to probe much deeper, as the computer we had been accessing did not have high enough clearance ontop of the.... disturbance... that led us all here. "

Pausing for a moment and taking on a more lax tone, Roy continued.

" Either way... Whomever it is thats running the show here obviously has a keen understanding of this facility and its inner workings. This doesn't look like the job some random shmuck would be able to pull off, and whatever the hell hit all of our heads makes me think it isn't anything normal... "
