We seem to be having a great deal of confusion, all across the Invision Star Wars RP sites, concerning Grey Jedi.... Let's try to clear this up. The concept of Grey Jedi seems to confuse alot of people, as the use of the color grey would suggest neutral ground...or a balance point between the Dark Side, and the Light. Star Wars mythos is explicitly clear on this subject. No such middle ground exists. The Force has two aspects. Light and Dark. A combination of the actions and their intent determine if what you are doing is one or the other. The Force does not believe the ends justify the means, or Anakin would never have fallen. Simply put, the road to hell is paved with good intentions..... If you go out, and butcher 100 people, simply because their deaths will save millions more.......that was of the Dark Side. No question. Go back, meditate for a LONG time, and try and find your center again. The term Grey Jedi, refers to Jedi who follow the Jedi Code, but seldom or never, the Jedi Order and Council. Not people who use both the Light and the Dark side of the Force. Remember Yoda's words: "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny." Those who call on the Dark Side on even a semi regular basis, become it's slaves. ALL of them. Many people seem to think Grey Jedi exist to maintain a balance between Jedi and Dark Siders. Again, this is not so. The Jedi exist to maintain a balance...Dark Siders exist to pervert that balance. Hope this clears things up. |
