(OOC)-This is drawn from an old(late 80's-early90's) Dragon Magazine article for the d6 Star Wars game by West End games. It will be posted both here and in the character database under SW characters. I am making this post with Jin's permission, but it will still be pending approval from someone higher up than just me posting it. The Min: Basically, the ninjas of the Star Wars Universe. Highly skilled assasins, with the typical training and gear associated with mythical ninjas. Their swords are forged from an alloy capable of dueling with lightsabers and Sith swords. The key advantage of the Min is they bend the force around them. Force detection abilities do not find them. Force push, lightning, and so on merely bend around them. They cannot be seen or affected by the force. It was noted in the article, that since force users come to rely so much on the force for their fighting skills, that force users are actually at a disadvantage against the Min, more so than non force users. The d6 rule was take away all force skill dice benefits, then take 1/3 of the remaining dice away also. For the avareage Jedi/Sith...that's basically half as good as they are normally. Still mostly a match in a direct battle for one or two Min. To bad the travel in squads of 5. The Min seek to destroy all force users......but will hire out to the Sith. The reason? They know the Jedi left to themselves will thrive, but the Sith left to themselves will wipe each other out. It is also worth mentioning(since the article did), that force users who are mostly noncombative....can learn after several encounters....to sense the Min's presense...by the holes in the force they create. But this is restricted to those who are more sensory, less combat oriented in the force. It is also worth mentioning that Min Masters, and large groups of lesser Min are reputed to have the ability to expand the area of dead force....making all force users inside however large that bubble is, unable to use force powers at all. And some can even temporarily or in some cases, permanently seperate a Froce User from the Force.... All Min can sense the active and Passive usage of the Force.... |
