Welcome to Survival of the Fittest, a RPing board loosely based off of Koshun Takami's Battle Royale, with its own unique plot and spin on the 'deadly game'. We've been around quite a while, and are now in our thirteenth year, so don't worry about us going anywhere any time soon!

If you're a newcomer and interested in joining, then please make sure you check out the rules. You may also want to read the FAQ, introduce yourself and stop by the chat to meet some of our members. If you're still not quite sure where to start, then we have a great New Member's Guide with a lot of useful information about getting going. Don't hesitate to PM a member of staff (they have purple usernames) if you have any questions about SOTF and how to get started!

Let the games begin!

Ok, so I mentioned this chat and got three people saying they were interested and apparently that is enough.

So to give the general idea of what this thread is, people can submit one of their characters from main or mini—they can be dead or alive—to be critiqued or you can give me a topic to discuss relating to one of your characters, such as the use of symbolism, fight scenes, how to get the most out of pregame, how to ensure your player maintains their impact etc.

It's kind of open-ended and up to you what you want to do. To note if you don't give me a topic you'll get something in the vein of the critiques I was doing for the beginning of SC2, they'll be honest critiques aimed at helping you improve while still mentioning what was good and what worked, if you enjoyed those you'll be getting a longer version of that.

The queue will start at three because I'm not a madman.

1. Blair Moore - character arcs and development
2. SC2 Maxwell
3. SC2 Yumi
Forrest Quin - At the Zoo
Bret Carter - On a date
Aliya Kimia Nemati - In Training
Arizona - Practicing

Can you review Blair Moore from V6? Specifically, could you look at the topic of character arc and development, how she changes from start to end?

If she's a little too much to start I can change!
V5: Cut Short

V6: Broken Down

V7: Unprepared

I suppose I'll suggest SC2 Yumi, if that's okay. You can go anywhere you want with the critiques.

I'm wary to suggest any of my current characters as I'm still in "getting the hang of them" mode, and my past shit has been done to death.

So we'll pick something in between.

It's almost cheating but I'd like to suggest good ol' Edward Tough and The Essay

I'd like to leave it open-ended. I have more coming with him and I'm curious to see your take on the whole thing, really.

Let me know if this isn't in the spirit of the thread.

I've been trying to get a critique in an experienced handler's thread for some time. As such, I'm combining my want to get in on this and the fact that, if it fails, I can always say I'm copying Cactus, into asking for a critique even though the queue is full.

I'd really like a critique on Ben (This is where he starts, you can find more links in my signature). While I'd like an overview in general, what I want most is a critique on his character development as relating to his conversations with himself. And to that effect, to prevent misinterpretation, while I tried to keep it somewhat ambiguous in the story, how I interpret the other voice(es) is that they are simply representations of parts of himself he doesn't want to admit to himself are part of him and he thus pretends they're not. Most notably, his desire to survive at all costs.

Of course, I'm just his handler, and since I quasi-support the idea of death of the author, feel free to interpret it differently if that makes more sense.

And now I'm just going to stop or I'll ramble on for another three paragraphs.
V6 Character:
Benjamin "Squirrel" Lichter [ ~ / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / + / > ] - You'll find him in the clouds.
V7 Characters:
Chloe Bruges [ - ] - You'll find her doing math.
Joseph "Joey" Quintero - You'll find him writing speaches.
Keith Rogers - You'll find him out with his gang.

In the unlikely event you want to use my characters...
