Name: Jeffrey Albert Greene Gender: Male Age: 18 Grade: 12th School: George Hunter High School Hobbies and Interests: Football team (outside linebacker), auto repair, cooking Appearance: Jeff is 5'11" and 225 lbs, with a bulky muscular frame and trimmed physique. His weight is almost entirely muscle, with a barely visible bit of belly fat still remaining. His head is square-jawed with pronounced cheekbones and a mustache that's carefully trimmed to just within his upper lip. He is mixed Caucasian and African-American and has a light brown skin tone, greenish-blue eyes, and short black hair. On the rare occasions where he isn't wearing the George Hunter football jersey, he'll be seen wearing generic slogan-free white and grey t-shirts with blue jeans and greyish-black sneakers, though he changes to cargo shorts in the summer. Biography: Jeffrey Albert (pronounced Al-bear) Greene is the second of four children. His father Aaron is an African-American ex-Marine who served his full enlistment from 1992 to 2000, receiving an honorable discharge. In 1996, while on leave, he met Maria Bernard, the daughter of French immigrants, and the two of them became quickly enamored with one another, sharing correspondence while he was abroad. They married in 1998, and Jeff's older brother Warren was born in the same year while Aaron was still serving overseas. Jeff was born a year later, shortly before his father settled into civilian life and found gainful employment as a mechanic at a local auto repair shop in Chattanooga. His two sisters, Lisa and Brianna, were born shortly thereafter in 2002 and 2005, and the family's dog, a brown-coated great dane named Boris because of his size, was adopted as a puppy in 2014. At present, Warren is at college and Lisa is attending George Hunter High as a sophomore. As a child, Jeff would face constant competition from his older brother who would try to hog all the toys, shove him over, and constantly get him in trouble with his mother. In this environment, he soon learned how to push back, and as kids, the two of them would wrestle constantly over the most inconsequential of disagreements. His father encouraged this kind of behavior, believing that it was better for them to get their anger out, so long as they never inflicted it on the girls. If there was any sign in the Greene household that the boys were bullying Lisa or Brianna, they would get an absolute earful from both mother and father. As a result, one rule was pounded into Jeff's head: never pick on a girl. When they were old enough, the kids would often play ball games in the backyard with their mother and father. This is where Jeff's fascination for football would first take root, since he enjoyed unleashing his aggression and tackling the runner as hard as he could, earning himself a number of scoldings for hurting his siblings. His father had played football back in high school, and as a result, he saw the real potential in his son. When he was 12, his father sat with him and talked about football as a potential career path. He talked about the kind of salary a professional football player would earn, how the eyes of the world would be on him, and how it gave him a chance to travel and see new places. It all seemed quite compelling, and Jeff was absolutely for it. His mother was hesitant to approve of it however, since she knew that very few actually made it all the way to the pros, and her son was not a very tall boy, just about average height. A naturally cautious sort, she saw this as a dead end, but as Jeff insisted that he wanted to go professional, she eventually softened and agreed, under one condition: that he demonstrate that he was willing to go the distance. Professional athletes, his father noted, had to train hard day after day and eat properly. To stay on the team, he would need to maintain a passing grade, attend practices regularly, and most importantly, keep himself out of trouble. That last factor had some bearing on Jeff's life up to that point. He and his brother had become extremely rowdy individuals going through elementary school, fighting with the other kids snd constantly getting in trouble for it. For the sake of his newfound dream, however, Jeff began hesitantly, grudgingly cleaning up his act, much to his older brother's amusement. The aggressive feelings were still there, and he would still snap at people and shout at them when they really got on his nerves. He's also very protective of his younger sisters, and is quick to respond with force to anyone picking on them. For the most part though, he's shown comparatively more restraint with his peers, and he's chosen to mostly ignore them unless he has to work with them. At home, Jeff's transformation manifested itself in him learning how to prepare healthy, nutritious meals. Though leery at first about the idea of cooking, once he'd done the research and practiced with it, he realized that he had a talent for following instructions exactly and precisely. He would copy techniques he saw on cooking shows and practice them over and over until he could do them without the visual aid. It would get to the point where Jeff would be the designated cook for the family, putting a bit of strain off of his mother who had started a home business designing websites for small businesses. He would also prepare lunch in the morning for his siblings and himself, just because he was making a habit of doing it for himself and it didn't take that much more time to prepare three more sandwiches. As he transitioned into high school and got his own car, Jeff began to also take an interest in his father's line of work, since it'd be a real cost-saver to be able to do minor repairs without having to take it into a shop. Whenever Aaron had free time, he would show his son how to perform basic car maintenance, like changing the oil, topping off fluids, switching out tires, and where the various components were located and how to tell which ones were giving the vehicle issues. Jeff would take an almost religious fervour to maintaining his car, giving it a paint job from the dull grey it started as to a dark red. His father figured that if the football dream didn't pan out, he could instead get a job in the same field as him, so he offered nothing but encouragement. In his freshman year of high school, Jeff took the first opportunity he could to try out for the team. His training and preparation had paid off, since at that point, he had the technique and muscle to put on a good performance. However, due to his height and relative talent, instead of being in an offensive position as he hoped, he was instead assigned to the defensive line, which he resents. He believes that he has the potential to be something greater, and while he continues to play, he feels like his position is below him. This has resulted in him redirecting his frustration and anger at his teammates whenever he feels that they messed up somehow, since he believes that if he had that position, he would have done a whole lot better. This has not made him a lot of friends on the team. Nonetheless, he plays his role well and gives his full effort to doing his job, never questioning his captain's decisions and following plays to the letter. Following instructions has been Jeff's strong point in general. Courses that involve memorization and computation are difficult for him, but if there's ever a course that involves hands-on work, he can do very well in it. As a result, chemistry is one of his strongest subjects, and he's never failed a lab. For the rest of them, he compensates by studying long and hard, squeezing through with C's and sometimes B's if he's lucky. His older brother offered him little help in high school, preferring to just do his own thing and pursue a dream in business, but unlike him, Jeff helps his sisters regularly with their work, and the three of them have bonded quite a bit through studying together around the kitchen table. Jeff is fine with his older brother having gone off to college, since he reminded him too much of the man he once was anyway. Aside from his academics, high school has its share of ups and downs. Though he tries to keep his anger under control and just ignore the student body as a whole, he can't help but find a number of his classmates relentlessly annoying. As a result, he finds himself occasionally slipping back into his old bully behaviors, but instead of pummeling the people who annoy him, he's tried to find ways to make them go away that won't get him kicked off the team. He doesn't hate anyone, but he has very little patience with the people at his school and just wishes that they would leave him alone. He has made some friends at school, mostly people who share his aggravation with the student body, but by and large, he's been on his own, which he doesn't especially mind, since it means he can concentrate on his goal. Outside of school, Jeff has been constantly honing his body. He likes to go on runs in the park with Boris to keep the dog in shape. He lifts weights at the local gym, he plays football in the backyard with his father and sisters, and he maintains his diet and healthy eating. He's also been applying for sports scholarships to local colleges, looking ahead to graduation in the next few months. His hope is that his remaining school year will go smoothly and he can move on to college football, with his eventual goal being to play with Tennessee's NFL team: the Tennessee Titans. Advantages: Jeff is hard working, healthy, and strong. He's good at following instructions and has experience in practical areas like cooking and automotive repair. Disadvantages: Jeff is short-tempered and antisocial, lacking patience with his peers. He's also bad at cooperating with teammates. |

"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you." Characters Others
